The Fabulous Fall Linky Pumpkin Party

Welcome . . .
to another week of the Fabulous Fall Linky Party
This week I thought I would do something a little different and suggest a topic . . .
It's the month of Pumpkins and I know you all are decorating with these wonders . . .
Maybe doing a little cooking . . .
Maybe like me your looking for a few good ideas for decorating!
Or maybe just dreaming about someday.
That's where the fun of the party comes in.  I love reading your posts and getting ideas from you so. . .

Come over and join the Party.  Now here's the great news the only rule is your post must be Fall themed. (Please save your Halloween posts for another party.)   It doesn't have to be Pumpkin themed but the good news is if it is Pumpkin themed then you'll be automatically entered in a give a way that I will do at the end of October!
Oh gosh I just noticed that my 199th Follower just joined.  I am so excited to get new Followers and Friends!  Welcome everyone.
#200 something special is in store for you!

And now on with the Party!

Blue Frozen/Cupcakes

My DIL posted this on FB yesterday.  Perfect for Blue linky parties . . .

She is much more confidant than I was at that time.  I never would have attempted this without a pattern! She rarely uses a pattern!

A little Mosaic of a fun activity . . .
Trust me there's Blue a little hard to see here . . .
I can see the wheels turning in his head.  He can't wait for me to say; 'Do you want to lick the beaters?'

And of course his answer was 'Yes'.  I showed this pic to his mother that afternoon.  She just smiled and said 'Like mother, like son!'

It's a family tradition I remember doing the same thing!

Hope your week is Blessed and Happily Blue!

This party will end with a giveway!  Give a way info. coming on
Wednesday!

Saturday Sleepover at Debra's

The Fabulous Fall linky party was such fun this week.  There were some great posts!   I've had such fun visiting new friends!

It was a looooong week and I am ready for some down time and a Sleepover at a friends place.  Tonight I am visiting the sweet Debra
at MsMoozy's Open House

She was so sweet to invite me over.   Debra had the welcome mat out and I was greeted as I stepped onto the front porch . . .
I was running a little late.  Everyone got tired of waiting on me.  A little cat nap was in order during the wait!

The lovely porch was so inviting . . .
What a lovely vignette of beautiful fall mums and pumpkins.
Debra was waiting with the lovely front door open . . .

I just loved the beautiful Fall wreath . . .

What a lovely entry way.  I've wanted to do a wall of letters.
I couldn't wait to see what drew me here . . .
The little green witch waited in the entry way . . .

After a long trip I was ready to have few minutes to put my feet up.  I was waiting to sit in this comfy chair . . .
And it was just as comfy as I imagined.  I love the Fall pillow.
And the view of the amazing coffee table . . .
I had been waiting to see this treasure up close and personal.  A coffee table made from a pallet.  How creative!  It was just just lovely!

And I was waiting to chat and share a few secrets like where she
found these cute little pumpkins.

We chatted into the wee hours about our favorite blogs.

 It was a wonderful visit.

Thanks Debra for linking at The Fabulous Fall linky party and inviting me to share your weekend!

Fabulous Fall LInky Party

Welcome Fall.  Today is the first day of  Autumn I realized recently that this is my favorite season! I love the cool weather.
The beauty of the season with all the beautiful colors.

One thing I love is Vintage Cards.  I searched out to share  . . . Love the look of a vintage post card!

And a few more vintage cards . . . raking the leaves- great print IDEA: cover some books with brown paper. Print off this print and divide it up into strips for the book spines to recreate the scene when the book spines are aligned
Beautiful fall colors. (not sure I would want my children burning leaves though)
Playing in the Leaves. Reproductions of charming illustrations from 1930s American children's schoolbooks on etsy.com.
This one was sweet.  Available as a note card at this Etsy shop.

Available here

Sweet Day Posing for the Camera

My Labor Day was Sweet.  My son and his family visited from
Missouri.  I wrote about one of our Family excursions here

My Missouri grand children are always ready to smile for the camera . . .

This one tends to make me work for a decent shot . . .
Which is pretty hard because I am not a good photographer.  But I love it.  I love capturing the moments.

Like these . . .
I was shocked when he started cheesing it up . . .
 He even posed . . .
And went after the cat to join the party.  I never did get the shot I was looking for but . . .
It was a Sweet Day

Good Fences

One of my favorite linky parties is "Tex's" Good Fences.

Sharing a couple we see every Sunday on the way to church . . .

As we drove past the Cowboy stopped long enough for me to take a quick snap . . .

This guy is usually standing in the same spot every time we pass!

Hodge/Podge Wednesday

I saw this at my friend Joanne's  I love birthdays and eating birthday cake so I thought I would join today.  Happy birthday Joyce

1. [The host of Hodge Podge is] celebrating a birthday this week so a question relating to aging feels appropriate. Douglas MacArthur is quoted as saying, 'You are as young as your faith, as old as your doubt; as young as your self-confidence, as old as your fear; as young as your hope, as old as your despair." Would you agree? If not why not?

Hmm...That requires some thought...

 2. What remarkable feat, interesting piece of trivia, or historical event occurred on your birth day and month? Not necessarily in your birthyear, just the same date/same month.

December 7...Pearl Harbor Day

 3. Describe a time or circumstance where you wanted to 'have your cake and eat it too.'

On my birthday I want cake

4. What's something you do that makes you feel young? Something that makes you feel old?
Young-Riding Horse
Old-Feeling too old to ride

 5. When did you last do something that was 'a piece of cake'?

It's always a 'piece of cake' to spend time with my family.  I miss my Missouri kids

 6.  Beef, wine, and cheese all improve with age. What's something else you'd add to that list? (not necessarily food or beverage)

Boots

7. If I were to have a giveaway when we hit Volume 200, what should I give away? By my calculations we'll hit Volume 200 on November 26th, the day before Thanksgiving, which means whoever wins would have whatever it is in time for Christmas.

Something Christmasy

8.  Insert your own random thought here.
Not really so random...I just finished writing a post about R is for Rodeo.  My family was here from Missouri.  I miss them.  I miss having horses.  I just miss that life.  I miss living in a house.  We are talking about buying a house again.  I am wishin' .  I am praying.

Alphabet Thursday--R is for . . .

Around these parts . . .
R is for Rodeo. . . For the best experience turn on the song

A few weeks ago the family was all together we did our favorite thing . . .
We've been known to drive a looooong way to get to a Rodeo.  Some came from Missouri to meet for a Saturday night in the Stock Yards

Not a seat in the house.
The crowd waits . . .
The Flag Enters and then . . .
Every performance begins with Prayer . . .
And then . . .
All is quiet.  There's a hush over the crowd . . .
The rider prepares . . .
The first event and most dangerous is the Bull Riding . . .
The clowns protect the riders and entertains the crowd between events . . .

Our littlest Cowboy dreaming of the day he can chase the dream. . .

A two man event Headin' and Heelin'. . . two Cowboys work together to catch the cow . . .
Another dangerous event Saddle Bronc if the rider stays on till the buzzer sounds he is picked up by a pick up rider . . .

Rodeo pickup man helping bronc rider off his horse
I couldn't find a photo from the Stockyards Rodeo but this is a great shot!

One of our favorite events to watch is always the last event of the evening . . .

 . . .
it's bulls and blood ,the dust  and the mud, it's boots and chaps, it's spurs and latigo, it's ropes and the reins, the joy and the pain and the call the thang Rodeo
