What's On Top Your Fridge

Hello and Good Morning today I am sharing a post inspired by a question on Face Book.

What's On Top Of Your Fridge?

I laughed out load when I read some of the answers.  As a person that has been a professional housekeeper I have seen a lot of homes in a lot of stages of of disorder and chaos.

My Cowboy went with me once for an interview because I was approached by the husband and well I just felt I needed to make sure I had 'back up'.  They turned out to be a great family and I loved working for them.

But when we went for the interview the lights were really, really low and there were table lamps also burning very softly.

When I went to clean the first time I was amazed at how much dust was in the house and how much that very low lighting hid!  It became a joke with us The Cowboy and I.

It is amazing how disgusting and cluttered our houses can get.

I don't know why but I've always been big on a no clutter clean Top O the Fridge kind of girl.  And so I am not embarrassed to show you the To O my Fridge.

I actually made changes recently.  I did have a pretty decorative basket that held chips.  And the cookie sheets and cutting boards leaned against the wall.  The Cowboy could not reach the chips so we moved them.  The cookie sheets kept falling so I added the fabric bins and put my Dry Beans and Rice in them to give some weight to hold the cookie sheets up.

This is the side view and what I see while I am cooking.  I used to have the tray sitting beside the stove but I realized it fit here and I like it better.  So that's What's On Top O My Fridge  . . .

But
Don't look inside!

On the To Do List!

Clean the inside of the Fridge . . . . How often do you cleans yours? I don't clean the inside like I should.  A good time to clean it is the night before trash day.  We have trash service on Monday and Thursday.  It should be easy for me to keep it clean.  A task I need to do better with!

Clean the fronts of the cabinets . . . I try to do a good Bleach wipe down about once a month.  Around the first is a good time.

Mop the house . . . I could do this everyday.  But this is another task that I don't do often enough.  We do not have carpet and I love it!  I do dust mop, sweep or vacuum everyday.

Empty that laundry basket . . . Do you keep up with your laundry? Putting away clean clothes is a task I rarely complete lately!

Well thanks for coming by and seeing my fridge.  I hope I gave you some pointers and inspiration today.  Let's get our houses clean and running smoothly!

 Have A Blessed Day

Enjoy your week

Menu Monday

Good Morning or afternoon maybe I am getting a super late start today.

It was a super busy weekend here for us.  How was your weekend?

Well it's Monday so let's talk

The Journey Back: Menu Monday

Menus

Do you plan a weekly menu?  Or do you have a rotating menu?

I think my mother had more of a rotating menu but it wasn't something we ever talked about.  Mother only cooked a few things and they seemed to always rotate quite frequently to the dinner plate. I always loved Mommy's cooking and I miss it.   I know my kids miss a few things I cook because occasionally I get a call about a certain meal or dish and we chat and reminiscent.

Things are much different now a days with only me and The Cowboy.  We have very few leftovers.  I wish when I had a house full of kids I had thought of this . . .

Do you put CORN on your menu?  Clean Out Refrigerator Night.

Usually now a days I try to plan something early in the week that I expect to have either re-invented or as actual leftovers.  Like this week I am planning a Pork Loin. The are big so we'll get 3-4 meals.  I am roasting it tonight and then on Wednesday probably I'll make Green Chili Stew.  I don't have a 'real' recipe and I'll probably look for pointers on Pinterest.

Here's my menu plan for the week with a couple planned leftover meals . . .

Monday . . . Oven Roasted Pork Tenderloin, Roasted Potato's and Carrots

Tuesday . . . Mexican Catfish, Spanish Rice and Cowboy Beans (a fancy? name for Pinto's)

Wednesday . . . Chicken Fried Steak, Mashed Potato's, Green Beans

Thursday . . . Green Chili Stew from L/O Pork, Corn Bread

Friday . . . Tortilla Soup, Tamale's L/O Rice

On my 'To Do' List this week is to Clean Out The Refrigerator.  I admit it is really

like the above cartoon.  Wish me luck!

Enjoy your week
