Book Review-Fit To Be Tied by Debby Mayne

Fit to Be Tied
About the book
The Bucklin family loves each other too much to stay away. . . but not enough to behave

Being rich is fine, but when wealth comes from striking oil, it's a slippery mess for a family who doesn't know what to do with it. The Bucklin cousins are all together again, and this family reunion is shaping up to be another disaster.

Coralee falls for the police officer who pulls her over. Sally has finally found a guy, but now she's not sure a relationship is even worth the bother. No matter how hard Brett tries to avoid trouble, he somehow stumbles right back into the thick of it. And Marybeth and Bucky continue to fumble and bumble as they learn how to handle being rich.

The Bucklin family is known for drama--and Bucklin family drama knows no bounds.

And I thought
A great read filled with family and southern charm.  A modern day story with characters that just seem to tug at your heart strings.
Fit To Be Tied is book 2 in this series and you might wanna
read book 1 just because it's good too!
You'll giggle a little, laugh a little and maybe cry a little as family drama unfolds.
If you enjoy just a 'good read' checks the series out!

I received a complimentary copy.

Cesar Salad Dressing, Celery, Red Bell Pepper, a Tomato, a few Green Peas, and cubes of Cheddar and Monterrey Jack Cheese.
Verdict:  we both loved it.  And Domino loved the 1/2 cup of

On my New To Do List
Many of the things I've had on my list the last few weeks are still ongoing.  Still cleaning, sorting and organizing mothers apartment.
Still trying to make room for her things here.

Inventory the freezer
Decor for Fall
Clean my favorite room the Beach Theme Summer room becomes a Fall Cabin in September.  Have to move some things around in there to make room for mothers plant shelves.

My Ta Da Moment
I made Pasta Salad and I ate it.

Craft Basket Plans
I am thinking about Christmas I saw the cutest crochet ornaments on Pintrest.  And I found a new dish cloth pattern I want to try for
presents.  I hope to make some aprons for my girls and friends using mothers fabric and patterns.  My daughter has already asked for one for her M.I.L.

In the garden
Weeds.  I have the prettiest weed garden you have ever seen.
But I am just selfish.  I just can't share!
I do have a few Zinnia's hanging on.  They make me smile.

From the camera
He had to have his pic taken at one of our family's favorite places to eat.  It's downtown and we don't go often.  My daughter was taking a client to another town west of us to buy a saddle and they had to stop for lunch.
Wish I was there!  They didn't even bring me leftovers!
How rude!

Flower Friday-A Nice Surprise

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday!!
I hope your week has been as great as mine!
I am happy to say I have posted everyday!
The first time in months!
Today I am joining Flower Friday and sharing a couple of sweet surprises that I found in my house and green house over the last couple of days!
First in my kitchen window.  I have been watching this Orchid for months.  I knew it was going to bloom and I was so happy.  And then it did this!
I know it's dark but the next one is better.  Not only did I get
1 bloom there are 5 total!
Gorgeous!  I am so happy! And the really cool thing is I have had this Orchid for 3 years.  I paid alot for it!  One whole dollar!
In the greenhouse I had an even bigger surprise because I didn't even know this plant was going to bloom.  I didn't notice a pod or anything!
I came home after a looooong and hard day and found this!

I was super excited to see this bloom.  This plant was from a cutting off a bigger plant that my sister gave to my mother a few years ago.
I took the cutting in the fall.  I had already tried once to root it with no success.  The sad thing is the original plant didn't get taken inside and froze.  So now this is all we have!
I had stuck it into a pot with another cutting that I have no idea what it was.  Then I stuck the entire pot in an open area in a larger pot that had an ivy but a huge bare spot.  If you look really close at the fore ground you'll see some different leaves.  Those are a poinsettia that I got on sale for $2.00 last Christmas!
I am so happy that my frugal gardening experience at least for now is successful.  Maybe I finally have a green thumb!
I am so super excited that I'll link at a bunch of favorite places!

Have a Fabulous Day!

Wordless Wednesday-The Story On Friday-A New Sometimes Series

I have been thinking of doing this for awhile.  And today is the day.
Alot of times I post some photo's on Wordless Wednesday that
just need a story or explanation.  At least I think the do!
When my D.I.L. sent this one to me I knew it was perfect for WW.
I suspected I would get some interesting caption suggestions.
Here are few caption suggestions and comments from the post.
. . . The cat didn't know what was coming!
. . . I thought cats didn't like to get wet!
And the story behind all the cuteness
This is our grand daughter and her cat Maggie.  Maggie is 1.
She was visiting the vet for shots.
She wasn't there for a bath.  She jumped into the sink to get away from the vet!
I thought this was a fun photo to share.
Hope you enjoyed it!
Visit me on Wednesdays for Wordless photos.  I would love to see your caption suggestions.
And then come back on Friday for the story.
Have a good weekend!

Thankful Thursday-A New Series

Welcome.
I hope your morning has started off Fabulously!

I was thinking about what I wanted to write about today.  I was thinking I am Thankful for books.  And then that brought me to the thought that Wow.  I am Thankful for my eyes.   And that just got my mind going and I realized that . . . .

School. Not really just school.  But I am Thankful that my daughter and D.I.L.  are homeschooling my grands.
Have you kids started back to school yet?
The last couple of weeks because our districts start at different times I have been seeing First day pics.  Many of my past students moms are posting photo's.  It's hard to believe that some of the kids that I taught at 2 and 3 are now in 3rd grade!
I have fond memories of those times.  I loved working with the children and I loved teaching them.

And I realized that I am Thankful for the Alphabet.

Without the Alphabet we wouldn't have books.  And I love books.  I love to read.
My grands are past the Preschool stage.  I have a 5th grader that lives here in my town.  I have a 4th grader and a Jr. in high school that live in Missouri.
Their mama's are devoted young ladies that work hard preparing them.  The have homeschooled the kids since 1st grade.  And began taking them to co-op programs.  This year both mama's are teaching at the co-op programs the kids are enrolled in.  The are busy girls
right now getting the kids prepared and preparing lessons for the students they will teach.
I am Thankful for these girls that work so hard.  I am Thankful that they have resources and opportunities to give my grands a great learning experience.

I am Thankful for the First Day of School!
Are you?

I am also Thankful for my Blue Slippers!

Menu Monday-When Plans Go Awry . . .

. . . In this case for the better.
I love to plan a weekly dinner menu for the Cowboy and I.  It
helps stay on track and organized with my leftovers.
Image result for menu plan
But sometimes even after I plan a menu things happen.  Like
today when a client said 'Go by the house and pick up food!'

I didn't waste anytime.  I hopped in the car and picked up some
goodies.
Image result for woman in cartoon car
Not really me I don't have a yellow convertible!

And now here is the original menu I planned on Saturday with the new changes.

Monday--Shrimp 3 ways Grilled,Smoked and Rotisserie
Rice Pilaf, Salad (I don't work on Monday and Cowboy
will man the smoker and Rotisserie)
Meatloaf, Mashed Potato's, Green Beans
Tuesday-- Rotisserie Chicken,Bar B Que Chicken Pasta Salad, Corn
Wednesday--Where's the beef? I found it!
A yummy grilled Sirloin all I have to do is slice thin warm on the grill pan with red/green bell pepper and onions and call it Fajita's
Thursday --Back to Kid Friendly Thurs
Sloppy Joes, Fries, Jello and Dirt .
Friday--Stew, Biscuits from leftover Pot Roast
Grilled Shrimp, Rice Pilaf, Salad

And so my weeks meals are much simpler than I planned!
So now the shrimp I planned for Monday we will eat on
Friday it will be a busier day so we will keep it simple.  Plus
by Friday I am zapped.

But, it should be an easier week what with all the free food!
So now since my plans went Awry and my meals will be even easier than I planned I'll get to finish in the kitchen faster
and sit with my feet up!
I missed my Blue Slippers.  I am glad to have them back!

Do your menu plans ever go Awry?
