A Bit Of Glue A Little Crochet-In The Studio

Welcome to my day.   This week it has been cold and rainy.  Perfect days for creating . . .

. . . With glue and sparkles to make pretty things!

Today I am sharing the Junk Journal page I made for a SWAP.
We were to make an 8 1/2 x11 page. It is basically 1 page of copy paper folded in half to give you 4 pages.  Front (cover) inside (left-right) and back.
Here's my front . . .

The theme was Scarecrow's.  Isn't he so cute?  I hated to part with him.  I layered him on a rectangle of striped card stock. The green trim I stumbled onto at Kroger for 1.00.  It matched the green leaves perfect which is why I chose this paper.
On the inside I put a fabric ruffle. I attached a piece of festive ribbon.  I made a pocket of the feature paper and stitched it on with brown thread so the stitches would show.   I stuffed inside a decorated festive journaling card.
On the opposite page I made a Belly Band out of burlap.  I cut a fabric flower out and glued it on with tacky glue.  The Belly Band is stitched to the page with contrasting white thread.  I stuffed inside some festive tea.
I went over the top putting in an extra page to include everything I wanted to put in.
Here's the boy scarecrow.
And the bashful girl peeking out from behind an Avacado dyed doily.  Avacado dyes paper a pretty pink.
Isn't she pretty.  I wanted to give her some Pearls and a lace petticoat but I ran out of time!
This is the page she is in. I fussy cut a cornstalk and placed a piece of fabric Washi with flowers so could stand in the flower garden.
For a little extra I made a little notepad from dyed papers.
A few more extra sequins  for a another project and a piece of ribbon.
This the cover of the notebook . . .
And part of the inside. It is hard to dye the paper with an image. I managed to get a doily image on this paper.
I also included some ribbon and lace wrapped around festive Fall spools I made.
I included yarn, lace and ribbon.

For another SWAP we were to make 4 Fabric and Ribbon Tassels with something dangling.  I added beads.

This is a large I made to include the beads I have been hoarding!

And a Turkey pin made from Fabric yo yo"s and a Peanut.
For SWAPs it is as much about xtras and packaging as the SWAP project!
Once I finished packaging and mail I relaxed a bit and started a new project.

A test for a dish cloth pattern. I thought I would use this orange yarn I found at my mother's; and make me a couple for my kitchen.

Here is my cozy place to crochet on the 'So Ugly It's Cute" little sleeper that belongs to my daughter.  It lives here with me for now.  Some day they will gat a house.  I am praying for that day or I'll need a bigger house!

I do enjoy my space and the little sleeper.  It is a nice place to sit and crochet.  I love my room since I hung this quilt.  It is not a Blue Ribbin winner but I love it.  It inspired me to make quilts.

And here's my next project to finish now that I'm done with SWAPs . . . .

Oh goodness. It's a little dark.  I guess I'll get back to the crochet till the sun comes out!

Are you working in projects?

Love your projects! You are always busy. Mom did knit a hat for my hooman sissy but other than that, she is still head over heels in love with working jigsaw puzzles and reading, of course. Happy Friday!
