Planning A Tea Party Tips and Musings from Author Julie Ann Lindsey- Exclusive Book Giveaway

Hello and Welcome to the blog. I have been visiting friends and searching for inspiration for my Tea Party.

Today I have a special visitor that is sharing some ideas and musings about Tea Parties.

Lover of Tea and the Sea!

Hi everyone! And thank you SO much, Sherry, for inviting me to your tea party! How exciting! I’m so glad to be here! For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Julie Anne Lindsey, but I write a cozy mystery series about a seaside iced tea shop as Bree Baker. I am SUCH a sucker for a good cuppa! And don’t even get me started on my love of old-fashioned sweet tea! My mama used to make ours in a big glass jar on the front porch, filled with water, sugar, and what seemed like about a hundred tea bags. To this day, I can’t have a decent day at the beach without a glass.

When I’m not at the beach, however, which is most of the time, since I live in Ohio, I get out with my daughter and friends to visit local tea shops as often as possible. We enjoy the properness of it all. The sweet little sugar cubes and dainty fixins make me feel as if I’ve fallen back in time, or been transported across the pond. I brought some of those treats with me today to share.

Help yourself! There’s more in the back. 😉

When I make a cup of tea at home, I like to pair it with a good book, and my go-to genres are mystery and romance. It makes sense that this is what I like to write. Because these are my escapes when the days are long and my mind is feeling heavy. I like piecing together the clues of a good mystery and laughing the heroine’s mishaps or jokes with her friends. I like visiting the shops in idyllic little towns and sampling the goods from all the imaginary cafes. It’s one way I refill my writerly-well. Adding new ideas and images to the vast collection in my head, until I need to draw on them and enrich my next story.

I suppose reading to a writer is a bit like eating to a chef. The information goes in and inspires us, then eventually comes out in personalized ways when we apply what we’ve learned. Sometimes the inspiration even changes us. It’s poetic, really and quite lovely. Much like the fancy teas, delectable sandwiches and delicious desserts served at the local tea house! Along with a piping hot pot of whatever flavored tea your heart desires. This time of year, I prefer apple cinnamon, but soon it will peppermint that steals my show.

How about you? Do you have a go-to favorite tea for fall? Or maybe one for pairing with an excellent book?

I'm amazed, I must say. Seldom do I come
across a blog that's both educative and entertaining, and
let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head.
The issue is something which too few men and women are speaking intelligently about.
I am very happy I came across this during my hunt for something concerning this.
