Welcome to my First Sleepover Saturday post featuring my
favorite Fabulous Fall post!

Did you miss the linky party?  I have had a wonderful time
meeting new friends and visiting their blogs! Linky Party is open all through the month.  Link any day.  Link any Fall theme post!

I have had such fun that I decided to pop in for a Sleepover!

Tonight I am popping over to the Fabulous Fabby's lovely place.

Fabby was so Sweet to meet me at the door with a cool drink.
I mean it took more than a nano second to arrive in Eucador
at Fabby's door  . . .

I had to take a stop at this Fabulous Beach.  Fabby posted about it
here.
The beach was beautiful.  I wanted to stay . . .

But alas I was on my way to a Fabulous Sleepover at Fabby's.
I knew she would have a beautiful table set.    I wondered if
it would be something like  . . .

Set in the beautiful dining room.  I loved the beautiful Fathers
Day Buffet she shared at this post.

Look how she incorporated the funny little chickens in this formal space .  The flatware wrapped in simple red napkins with seashell
napkins.  How fun!

Of course since I am arriving so late maybe a simple supper in the kitchen it has such a breathtaking evening view.  And, just a beautiful place to relax with friends.  Such a beautiful post she shared here.

Of course after a quick late supper we'll sit around the beautiful
fireplace and chat on an on to the wee hours of the morning . . .
Here's where she posted about her beautiful mantle.

I can't wait to see the guest room.  I can only imagine how beautiful it is.

And then in the morning . . .

We'll enjoy the beautiful view again and the lovely Fall table
she has ready! Which BTW she linked over here.

What a lovely visit with Fabby!  Thank you for letting me 'pop in'!

Come by the Fabulous Fall linky party!  I visit every link.  I'd love to visit you and come by for a Sleepover!

Blue Wedding

Welcome to Blue Monday.  Today I am sharing some wedding
photos.  A couple of years ago The Cowboy and I had the joy of helping document the wedding of one of the staff at the prison where we have church services.  The Cowboy officiated and I got to be the photography.  I had a wonderful time!

I am by no means a professional but it was definitely fun.  And,
the colors were Blue and Silver . . .

First the caterer putting some finishing touches on the cake.  Which btw I didn't get to taste!
The party went on and on and we had church the next day!
I have to admit I was annoyed.  Seriously who goes to a wedding and doesn't stay for cake?

No Blue here but I think he is handsome so had to share this one!
Do you see the Blue here?  Check out those Cowboy Boots!
I left this one uncropped to show the area where the wedding was held.  It is actually a hallway.  Above is another hall you can see the railing.

The flowers are Blue and the guys shirts and ties are Blue . . .
I know the lighting is awful but the view was gorgeous.   This building is in the middle of downtown Dallas.

Tried and True--A Book Review

If your a follow you know what caught my eye
about this offer!

Tried & True by Mary Connealy is the first in the Wild at Heart
Series.  (I can't wait for rest of the series)

The story is about the Wilde sisters.   The back cover synopsis describes Kylie as the 'most civilized' of the sisters.  Although
Kylie goes along with the family's plans and hides herself behind a pair of jeans and cowboy hats and even homesteads her own property she longs to be back in civilization.

Kylies plans to return 'back East' are somewhat thwarted when
Aaron Masterson nosing around.  His role as local land agent is to investigates the homesteaders.  When he realizes Kylie isn't a man he is kind of caught between doing his job and well he does enjoy kissing Kylie. Which puts Aaron in a bit of a dilemma.

And of course there a bit suspense when someone tries to force Kylie off her land.

Tried & True is fast paced, a little steamy, a little suspenseful and filled with humor and sarcastic banter between Kylie and Aaron.
My thoughts:
  • I am interested in the next installment.
  • I caution this choice for younger readers.
  • I give this one 4 out of 5 stars (I personally am not a fan of historical books.)

Here are a few endorsements from the publishers website. . .

Another great laugh-out-loud historical romance with memorable characters who have charm, style, grace, and a bit of mischief.

Connealy's style is fast-paced and spritely and sure to keep drawing fans.

Magic Mesh--Product Review--It Really Works!

I have had so many compliments and questions from neighbors I thought it was time to share . . .

Yes Magic Mesh as seen on T.V. really works!

It took the cat a couple of tries to master.  But he is a seasoned warrior now.  When the weather is nice enough. He can come and go as he wants.
We live on the second floor and he enjoys walking out and looking out over his kingdom.  Or just catching a catnap in one of the chairs.
Magic Mesh really was worth the money.  We actually paid less than it is advertised on t.v. we found it at Winco a new grocery chain that came to our town.  Ours was only $14.95.

It was well worth it to me.  I really like to have the door open and the cost of a screen door is more than we could afford.
The Magic Mesh screen is perfect for allowing the fresh air to come in and the animals to go in and out!

I give Magic Mesh a thumbs up!  These are in expensive enough you could even put on a small patio to keep bugs away for your Outdoor Parties or Teas. And if you find it on sale like I did it is Thrifty!

One day while I was playing around on Pinterest I saw this and loved it.
I would love to have a mailbox like this!  The fence isn't shabby either!

Potato Soup Weather?

For me it's anytime.  Salad and soup just seems to hit the spot.
So even though it is still September and triple digits here in Texas I can still eat a heapin' bowl of good 'ole soup, stew, or chili.

Today I am thinkin' Potato Soup! How Do You Make Potato Soup?

I don't really have a recipe.  And most of the time I just wing it.  And so today I thought I would see if I could get a little help.

My first stop is always Pioneer Woman.  Is she not amazing?
Here's what her steaming bowl of yummy soup looks like . . .

                                                 Source
And as always she has a cast of characters . . .

                                       Source
My little cast is a little different.  My method is a little different.
But it turns out yummy just the same.

My Method:
1. I dice my celery really small and cook in some chicken broth.  I really want the taste and flavor not the crunch.
2. My secret to adding onions to most dishes.  I grate my onion.  Then cook it in a little butter and bacon grease.
3. My other secret.  So secret I didn't photo it. LOL.  Actually I forgot. I use half and half in my soup.

So do you have a great recipe?  Wanna share it?  Check out the  linky parties below.

Well if your like me and you don't have a real recipe click here to go Pioneer Woman's.  And well heck even if you do.  Just go on over there and visit.  You'll be smiling when you leave!
