Happy Homemaker in Texas

The Weather

Still a bit hot by noon.  Need that umbrella!

We always have  a nice breeze off the ocean.

On the Breakfast Plate

I just Scrambled a couple of Eggs and reheated a couple Mini Smokies

Today I Am Wearing

My regular 'ole boring wardrobe shorts a cami and a tank top.  No shoes at the moment feet propped on ottoman and lounging in the recliner.

On The Reading Pile

Lots to read for reviews . . .

And I'm Reading Now

Laurel Blount is one of my favorites.  She writes sweet wholesome love stories.   Her newsletter includes life on her farm and recipes!

To Do List

For today . . .
Make a Meatloaf for Dogs
Brew Tea to feed my Butterfly Bush
Work on and try to complete J.J. projects
Clean kitchen and put dinner in the crock pot
Vacuum

For the week . . .
Reorganize the kitchen moving things as we replace pots and pans, mixer and crockpot.  We left alot of things behind me when we moved.
Finish getting my craft space organized and get printer out of the box and set up.
Go to post office to mail cards and packages
Go to a resale shop and look for a vase, table for crafting and something to store supplies and books

I hope To Do this week . . .
I need an office chair.  I hope we can find one at Target I have looked on line and Target looks best for the money
Go to Home Depot for plants
Go to an Antique shop for fun
Find a Bicycle to buy

My 'Ta Da' Moment
Cleaned a corner on the card table to work.  It isn't ideal.  It will have to work until we find a table and something to store my supplies in

Menu Plans
I am out of ideas.  The Cowboy isn't eating much and doesn't have a lot of interest.
Come by Friday I will share what we ended up eating!

On The Blogs This Week

It's finally here!  Lots of puppy love and some great books.  And great Authors to meet.
Come by on Monday!

In My Crafting Space
This is the sneak peek I post in the fb group.  We were to make it a Blue J.J. page.   The bowl of buttons was my inspiration.
I tore the picture of the buttons from this book.  But I ended up making me a photo copy to preserve the original for another project.
I will share the page tomorrow on Crafting Sunday!
This is page I created in an altered book.

Prayers Please

I am struggling right now.  I guess you could say I have cabin fever.
Since we have moved to Galveston Island we have had trouble with our car.  I can't start it.  And so I am dependant on the Cowboy.
He sleeps everyday till 1 usually.  If we have an urgent errand or something he wants to do he will go out around 4:00.  It is so hot then.
By the time we are done it is time to  cook and walk dogs and I am exhausted.
The situation is just frustrating.
There is so much to do and places to see and fun things to do.  I feel like life is passing  me by.

Hope you get your car troubles sorted out very soon, I'd also struggle to not start errands until 4p.m. What kind of tea do you feed your butterfly bush? Have a great week!

I LOVE junk journals and altered books! I really need to get back into doing that. Sparks joy in my heart! I am also going to look up Laurel Blount; her books sound right up my alley! Thanks for recommending her.

Have a wonderful week ahead!
