Whenever a Child is Born by Nancy Friedrich I Read Book Tours Review/Giveaway

About the book

Book Details...

Category: Children's Fiction (Ages 3-7), 30 pages

Genre: Children's Picture Book

Publisher: WestBow Press

Release date: July 2017

Format available for review: print (USA), pdf

Content Rating: G for everyone.

Book Description:

In his 2014 homily for the Feast of Holy Guardian Angels, October 2, Pope Francis told those gathered for daily mass to be like children who pay attention to their "traveling companion. No one journeys alone, and no one should think that they are alone.

"According to Church tradition," the pope said, "we all have an angel with us, who guards us . . . It is what God said: 'I send an angel before you, to guard you, to accompany you on the way, so you will not be alone.'"

In this children's book, angels wait anxiously and with great excitement to see which one of them will be chosen to be the guardian angel of a child that is to be born. This delightful book depicts the joy of all God's creations anticipating the birth of another precious child. The sun shines brighter, the moon has a shinier glow, flowers grow taller, birds tweet more sweetly, and angels dance and sing with bliss, as all creation awaits another baby girl or boy.

Whenever a Child Is Born offers the perfect message for parents as it charmingly tells the story of how all of heaven and earth react to the news that a child is about to be born. The story comforts parents with the knowledge that their baby is a special gift from heaven to them, and that they will never be alone raising their child, and that their child will never ever be alone in life.

Parents never worry. No one journeys alone through life because whenever a child is born, he is given a guardian angel.

And I thought...

A charming and sweet picture book and story.

The illustrations are sweet and whimsical.

The lyric is charming and reminds parents that babies are a gift.  The story is told so that children can understand.  And is written simply so that older children can read to younger siblings.

I liked the story tells that the sun shines bright. The stars twinkle and even the animals are happy for new babies.

This was my favorite page...

The story tells how babies have guardian Angels.

The copy I received was a paperback.  It is large but small with only 30 pages making me wonder about the value.  I think I would like the hardcover copy better.

I enjoyed reading this sweet book.

I received a complimentary copy.

My review  will be posted on retail sites and Good Reads.

Happy Homemaker In Texas

Hello. Welcome to the blog and my regular Saturday feature.

It's planting time!

The 'To Do' List... Today feed Daughters dog Morning and Evening

Go to Walmart for plants. I hope I can find Canna bulbs and some seeds.

Plant and mow.

On Monday take our 12 y.o. grandson to Half Price Books and Happy Hour at Sonic.

The week ... Getting a new Love Seat Recliner on Monday.  Still shopping for a complimenting Love Seat and t.v. stand. We are changing from the glass shelves.

Post Reviews on retail sites and Good Reads

On my reading pile ...

And this one ...

I am reading now...

On the T.V. Yes!!... Most evenings now we watch a show I want to watch. It's a long story.  And this one the Cowboy likes.  Actually he likes most of the shows I do but he tends to control the remote.

He is seeing now how frustrated and how I have been struggling so he is making an effort.

My new favorite show is The Lost Kitchen on Discovery plus...

The You Tube trailer is over Here

In the garden...I was glad last week to get Purple Lantana. I planted one in the front and one on the edge of the veggie garden.

I have Peas growing in the greenhouse I need to get them in the ground.

I will be finishing bed prep for the Green Beans after taking out the Broccoli and Cabbage.

In the studio... I will write a post on Sunday but here is a peek of the Green Junk Journal page I just finished

Filled with lots of Green.

For myself...I have been really struggling alot lately managing the house and  the Cowboy's needs. I talked to him about helping me more.

Tonight (Saturday) he is going to cook dinner. And hopefully clean up!

I am also going to ask our daughter if our grandson can come over on Monday and help me a couple hours.

I actually think these plans will be positive for all of us.

I'll keep you posted

Foodie Friday and A Recipe

Good Morning I am sharing a special post with a fun recipe.

On Monday I posted the recipe for Cashew Queso provided by Author Diane Kelly.

And I made the dish on Thursday night as an appetizer ...

I served several options.  Lots of veggies

And some little toast which was my favorite.
I wasn't Rockin' the presentation.  We normally eat late in the evening as this is the Cowboy's preference.  I am usually 'done' by dinner.  It is the way we 'Roll'.

But I enjoyed  serving this fun Dip.  And it was really yummy.  You can find the recipe over Here

I think that it might have been better  prepped in a blender. And I will try that next time.

And here's what I served on the Rustic Dinner Plate this week.

Simple fast. The Cowboy loves Frito Pie
I used this canned Chili.  This time we used the big Frito's.  We buy ours at Aldi.  The price is right.
The Cowboy asked for Sausage Gravy.  But we were out of Milk.
I got some color on the plate.  Last of the garden Broccoli!
I simply poured General Tso Sauce on the Chicken and baked.  Then broiled for color.
A new Soy Sauce alternative.
A lunch out. Yummy Fried Cat Fish and a heaping mound of Fries.
I guess this looks funny. But  it was good!
This was a Round Roast that came out super tender. I will have to share how I marinated it soon.

We like most things from Aldi but not a fan
Of the sausage.
Another odd combination.  But it was yummy.  I made Chicken and Dumplings from the extra Biscuits.  And we had several Avacados getting ripe.

The Cowboy finally got that Gravy!
Tortilla Soup with sliced Avacado.  One of my favorites!
Oh and my most favorite! Chili Rellono's from the Mexican Market!
We also found Ribs on sale. I roasted the Asparagus in the oven in Bacon fat. Yum.

Thanks for joining me for Foodie Friday!
