He asked for prayer Word Filled Wednesday

This is a sticky post. Word Filled Wednesday provided by Amy Dean is below.

We work in a ministry to teenagers. Specifically teenagers incarcerated in Texas.
Three weeks ago my husband began a five week program at a boys facility. It took us 4 years to get to present our program inside this facility.

In January my husband had knee replacement surgery. We knew almost immediately he had an infection in his knee. Because we no longer have health insurance his surgery was at the county hospital.

It has taken from February until today to get him scheduled to have the artificial knee removed.

He goes back into surgery tomorrow.

He asked for prayer for the boys.

I was with him tonight when he told the boys he wouldn't be able to be there tomorrow. It was hard on him. He promised them he would be back as soon as he can.

Please pray for him. Please pray for the boys and the volunteers that will continue the program in my husbands absence.

God is in control. God will take care of us. Please pray with us that he is glorified in all this and that God will reveal himself to them.

Please pray for the boys

What counts is your life. Is it green and blossoming? Because if it is deadwood it goes on the fire!

Luke 3:9

All I can say is ouch!!! lol what a tough one! We were burning some old “junk” left overs from building and there was this amazing blaze.. you could feel the heat all the way into the house (with the windows open).. it really made me think how much “heat” deadwood gives off… and how easily we can spend out life putting out those fires if we don’t clean clean up the mess, put it forward and give it to God. What deadwood is holding you back today? Give them to the ultimate firestarter.. not only will he burn the old, he’ll replace it with something better!

God Bless!

I prayed for your husband as he goes through surgery and for your ministry with the boys. Your ministry sounds like a wonderful way to serve Jesus. My husband and I are feeling like God is calling us to full time ministry work. And we seem to be having spiritual attacks from the enemy on our marriage. Giving in to the enemy would ruin God's plans if He's calling us to ministry.

I will definatly be praying for you both and your ministries. What a great ministry! Most of the time those kids are chalked up as no good and they keep going in the system. Before the Lord called me home I was a paralegal and worked for our district attorney's office. I saw so many of the same kids come through the court. Keep up the good work.
As for the comment you left on my blog....we also have gotten a lot of slack from family members for homeschooling. Mostly my former Mother-in-law. So if you could convince your daughter to visit my blog there are entries on there about what we had to go through. We prayed a lot last year through the trials. But with God on your side all things are possible! God Bless!!
