Daisy's Doggie Bloggy Friends/Then Sings My Soul Saturday

Welcome to my Saturday. My mom let's me write about friends that I have met.
But today I want to write about one of my mom's dogs that she had before me.
Yesterday mom was searching through photo's for her Friday Show and Tell and she found these. She was happy to see them but she was sad too. But once I gave her a hug she smiled again.
This is Spanky

My mommy and dad got Spanky a really long time ago. He was a really good dog. I can tell because my mommy's smiles when she sees his picture.

Spanky was only a baby when he came to live with my mom and dad. And my mom used to take him places like she does me. He was small enough to fit in her purse. But he grew big real fast.
One of his favorite things to eat were avocado's. I wish I could try one of them.
We had a really busy week. The baby came over to our house and I got to kiss his toes and hands. Mommy won't let me give him kisses on his face. I had to be very good and sit like a "Good girl" when the baby was here.
We didn't get to spend much time on the computer this week. So I didn't get to meet any new friends. I hope you have enjoyed reading this post. Please write my mommy a note I think it would make her smile.

Here is a song she is listening to.
I have always been a fan of Neil Diamond and when I heard him sing this song on American Idol (I am so glad that David Cook one!) I couldn't get this song and it's words out of my head.
I chose this video because it has more of the song than the live ones did. I don't know why the video stops like it does but I hope that you enjoy it. And that you are Blessed.

Pretty Amazing Grace by Neil Diamond
Pretty amazing grace is what you showed me
Pretty amazing grace is who you are
I was an empty vessel
You filled me up inside
And with amazing grace
Restored my pride

Pretty amazing grace is how you saved me
And with amazing grace, reclaimed my heart
Love in the midst of chaos
Calm in the heart of war
Showed with amazing grace
What love was for

You forgave my insensitivity
And my attempt to let mislead you
You stood beside a wretch like me
Showed your amazing grace. . . was all I needed.

Stumbled inside the doorway of your chapel
Humbled and awed by everything I found
Beauty and love surround me
Freed me from what I fear
Ask for amazing grace
And you a appear

You overcame my loss of hope and faith
Gave me a truth I could believe in
You led me to a higher place
Showed your amazing grace
When grace was what I needed

Look in a mirror I see your reflection
Open a book you live on every page
I fall and you’re there to lift me
You share every road I climb
And with amazing grace
You ease my mind

You overcame my loss of hope and faith
Gave me a truth I could believe in
You led me to a higher place
Showed your amazing grace
When grace was what I needed

This is my first time hearing this song. I didn't know that Neil Diamond sang words like this. How wonderful.

Hi there - thanks so much for stopping by - sweet blog you have and I love your black and white background. I'd be honored for you to use the picture - I used this little grouping at our church for the Beth Moore Bible study. Blessings to you and your family.

Sparky's a cutie alright. Was he chewing on a shoe in the picture? ;-)

Thanks Sherry & Daisy...I was gone last Saturday but I grew up with Neil Diamond. I was so aMazed that he sang a song like this and sooo delighted that HE knows from whom this aMazing Grace comes. I saw him on American Idol...both Davids had great voices but it had to be the attitude and maturity that won. I'm glad that David Cook won also! He has quality!
But Neil Diamond wins hands down!

How touching that you love Spanky so!
