Happy Homemaker in Texas

The weather

Sunshine and a few clouds today.

It's trying to creep to the 80's 78, 79 several days.

A few thunderstorms predicted.

Gorgeous Beach weather!

On the breakfast plate

Shop made Chorizo from our butcher.  Scrambled Eggs and Tortilla.

As I look out my window

Peace and quiet.  We have a very quiet neighborhood.  Everyone is out for the day.

Right now I am

Sitting with my feet up typing my post and listening to snoring dogs.

Thinking and pondering

A few days ago I realized that I won't be doing SWAPs or pen pals anymore.  Postage has gotten too expensive and the island post office is hard to get to.  Also there isn't much shopping for the kind of things to send.

I had a small stash left.  Yesterday I cleaned out my stash and gave to my neighbor to use for Bingo prizes at a retirement home.  She giggled at seeing the socks with Do Nuts.

I was glad even though it makes me me sad someone else can smile.

Homemaking Tips

Did you know Dollar Tree has a mop system with removable heads?   Now you only need 1 handle.  They are all interchangeable!   The string mop cleans and bleaches well and has not fallen apart.  I have had the mop for months and I bleach it regularly.

The cloth Swifter style dust mops stick to the surface well.  I vacuum it after each use.

How I am feeling

At the moment Happy and Healthy. I am blessed because I have to help take care of the Cowboy and the dogs.

On my reading pile

I am happy I am now able to get Harlequin Love Inspired Suspense books to review.  It took months for approval!

And a new cozy for review

On my tv

The Cowboy had been Binge watching The Liquidator.  A show from Canada.  It is interesting.

I noticed there is a Julia Child Challenge on Food Channel maybe we will check it out.

I have several green plants growing in the window.  I will buy a couple more on payday.  I am going to try and plant some Vinca in a pot.  Not sure it will survive inside.

To Do List

Clean refrigerator

I hope to start on a quilt/coverlet for the bed

I still have a few Santa's I got unboxed need to climb the ladder and put it away

That mop system looks interesting. Might have to go look for that. I always try to stock up on Forever stamps as much as I can, frustrated about the new increase. Hope you have a great rest of your week!
