Happy Homemaker In Texas

The weather today . . .

Cloudy today. Should get to upper 50'.  About the same till Wednesday & Thursday then a bit colder.

Outside my window . . .

Currently just peacefully quiet.  Completely still.  No wind chimes. No birds singing.  A quiet Saturday morning.

Today I am wearing . . .

Black leggings and my worn Army Green gardening pants.  The hem us gone and thier frayed on the legs.  There are Bleach spots.  Perfect for a day of gardening.  And I have a cute V neck tank that has a pretty lace Applique.  But it is holey and worn out. Perfect for the garden!

On the breakfast

plate . . . I'll try to entice the Cowboy with Pancakes or Charizo and Eggs.

Just finished reading . . .

I really enjoyed this book.  It is a clean sweet Romance with an underlying Christian theme.  I posted my Review today.  I will be Featuring characters and spotlighting on Monday.

Now I am reading . . .

For my On The Road event.  This one takes us to Alabama.  The Author included an exclusive Recipe.

On my TBR pile . . .

Reading these for The Great Escapes Tour . . .

New on the blogs . . .

A new Feature here.  An all about Homemaking  Monday link party here.

Over at My Reading Journeys I am adding a Monday link party for Authors.  Go over and visit to meet new Authors and find some great new reads.

On the menu . . .

Monday Beef Stew and Dinner Muffins

Tuesday Mussels over Angel Hair Pasta and Salad

Wednesday Pinto's and Corn Bread

Thursday Pork Cutlets, Hassel back Russets/Sweet Potatoes, Southern Fried Cabbage

Friday Chicken Flauta's, Bean Chalupa's

For breakfast/lunches . .

I need to try again to have some ready made breakfast & lunch offerings  to entice the Cowboy.

For breakfasts I will make Blueberry Muffins, Egg and Cheese Muffins and Breakfast Burrito 's

This week I will make Potato Soup and Split Pea Soup.  I need to buy a loaf of Bread to have ready for Grilled Cheese and Tuna Salad Sandwiches.

In the kitchen . . .

Starting Onions in the window.  Did you know there are several things you can grow again from cuttings.  This week I have a few Green Onions started.  A few weeks ago I started Celery.

On the To Do list . . .

Dr. Appointment on Thursday

On Monday I will bake Muffins for Breakfasts

Last week I vacuumed all the window sills and blinds.  This week I will wash the windows.

Vacuum, sweep and mop the bedroom. I usually choose 1 room to mop each week.

I try to vacuum the living room every couple of days because the dog's track in a lot. Well I guess I do too!

Finish Valentine's decorating for Dinner Party for our daughter and her husband.  Still considering the Menu have to see how the budget holds out.  Our grandson will be the waiter. The Cowboy will be my Sous chef & manage the kitchen.   I will cook early and take care  of baby once they arrive.

In the studio . . .

I finished my January Daily Journal.  I have started my February Love Journal.

My February Daily will be a memory book and Daily Journal.  I used this old calendar because it fit the theme and brings back fond memories.  I will cover the 2014 with cut out #s for 2021. I will have pockets and tuck spots where I can add Valentine's cards from my students and penpals.

I have a Pink theme Junk Journal Page SWAP this month.

We are required to post a sneak peek these are a few things I collected for my sneak peek.

My crochet is not going well.  I am stuck on the first block.  And bummer I don't like the 2nd block.  I hope this CAL gets better. The coordinator  added some alternate blocks I guess I wasn't the only one that didn't like #2.

In the garden . . .

I am starting some flower seeds in the Greenhouse.  I found a new spot to plant Morning Glories so getting that bed done.

I found a video on a new method of planting Potatoes in a box.

I want to plant White and Sweet Potato.

I have planned to move the Pole Green Beans over by the Broccoli to shade it.  I got the compost in last week and my fence stretched and flattened.  This week I will set it in the ground and maybe start Peas.  They will shade the Broccoli till time to plant the Green Beans.

I hope to plant a few more Carrots.  I have 2  from my Fall planting.  I hope I get alot more to sprout!

From the camera . . .

Patiently waiting for NaMa to get off the phone and make breakfast!
