Happy homemaker in Texas

Welcome to happy Homemaker in Texas
the day that I link with Sandra at Family corner and her Happy Homemaker blog party Sandra provides the prompts I add a few of my own

the prompts  . . .

The weather . . .
This last week it wasn't too hot.   There was a bit of a breeze everyday.  I think Thursday was the only day I didn't spend anytime out in the late afternoon.
This week is will be upper to mid 70' to 98' first of wee then cooling to 94 to 97.
Fall is around the corner

On the menu
I'll be going to a food pantry this week to help stretch what I have in the freezer.  We have no fresh veggies so I am praying to get some this week.
In the freezer . . .
Chicken Breasts a pot pie will go nicely with the canned Green Beans, Peas and Carrots
Pork Loin I need to find a new recipe to try otherwise I'll just roast it and add some Potato's open a can of Green Beans and Corn
Ground Beef the old stand by Spaghetti will get it done
Dry Beans,  Pinto's, Great Northern, Black Eye Peas, Split Peas
make a great Mixed Bean soup.  And some Corn Bread and we'll have a meal.
That's 4 days worth I'm thinking I'll have some leftovers that I can whip up on Friday.  Maybe a Cottage Pie I've never made one maybe we'll give it a try.

 The To Do List
This week I have left over health related chores.
. . . I have to follow up and find somewhere to get glasses filled.  I began calling agencies on Friday for some help with that.  The Cowboy got his eyes checked on Thursday and got a new prescription for glasses.
. . . Set up P.T. appointments for The Cowboys shoulder and knee
. . . I need to get a routine going to keep up with the house
. . . I'll be meeting with a caseworker to see if I can find a job I am actually praying if I can get on part time at the agency in our town that has helped us with bills and the food pantry.

My Tah-Dah Moment
I managed to get the Cowboy to all his appointments.

 Outside my window
Sitting in the Cowboys room now on the computer.  His window is closed but I can see out the door into the outdoor room and my garden.  I love my garden.  It's all brown now where I can see but I can dream about what it will be again soon.

On the breakfast plate
Still early it's Saturday and I usually do Brunch.  Today I'll be re-creating this

Something fun to share
Today at Sarah's click here

What I am reading
A page turner for a tour.  This is a fun 'quirky' series.  I enjoy it because of the quilting theme.

On the reading/listening list
On the Kindle I have a few more to read starting Monday I hope.
This one is coming up fast so I'll have to get 'on it'

In the garden...
Bed is prepped for Green Beans, Carrots, Broccoli, Cauliflower and Cabbages.  I have Tomato's in the Green House hoping for a few for Thanksgiving.  I've cut back the Tomato's in the garden and watering them like crazy so they'll give me a Thanksgiving harvest.  I cut back the Marigolds too hoping for a new bloom or two in the next few weeks.

Zinnia's and Basil are happily doing their thing and giving me gorgeous blooms and leaves for cooking.

And the crafting room...
Last week I worked on a tiny tour of the craft room.  I didn't get
that post completed but I am hoping to get it posted on Tuesday. Stay tuned . . .

From the camera (archives)...

I ran across this one while cleaning up some files.  Too cute not share again.  This will be happening again this time next year.
His baby brother Noah is coming in December!
