Happy Homemaker In Texas

Hello and Welcome to the blog.  I am joining Sandra at Family Corner for her weekly party . . .

Diary of a Stay at Home Mom: { Happy Homemaker Monday - 02/03/2020 }

The weather
Fall is around the corner.  It is a bit cooler in the mornings.  But we still have our summer weather by mid day.  It's been upper 70's to upper 90's.  We might get a little rain by weeks end.  We can sure use it!

Outside my window
It's funny I've always taken this prompt to  me outside the window where I am sitting.  But today I am sharing outside the window where I wish I was sitting . . .

. . . I wish I was sitting in my Summer/Green House room the I could see flower beds.

On my mind  . . .
Gratefulness and Thankful we had to go to a doctors appointment this morning.  The Cowboys knee is very swollen and warm to the touch.  We feared it was infected.  Thankfully it is not and it just arthritis that is causing the swelling.  He will have a replacement soon.  He got pain meds today and a shot.

I just finished reading . . .
encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ...
I am reading now . . .

On the reading pile . . .
There are several on the pile.  I think the one I want to
read most is . . .

. . . I am thinking of doing a Monday feature post sharing the books on my pile.
What do you think?

On the menu this week . . .
I am stuck in the rut again.  I don't know why I have such a hard time.  I think it is because what I have in the pantry and freezer is just not what I want to eat or cook.

. . .so I am making a new prompt

The menu I would make if . . .
Monday . . .If I had left over Roast from a Pot Roast I cooked on Sunday I would make
Beef Stew and Biscuits with Strawberry Shortcake for dessert.
Tuesday . . . If found Cubed Steak marked down at the grocery store I would make
Chicken Fried Steak, Mashed Potato's, Green Beans
Wednesday . . . If I had fresh Romaine Today I would make
Grilled Chicken Cobb Caesar Salad (recipe found on Pinterest) I would serve with a bowl of Potato Soup
If I had made the Potato Soup last week that I intended to.
Thursday. . . If I had Bone in Pork Chops I would make
Pan Fried Pork Chops, Minute Rice (because I love it),
Fresh Fried Okra, and of course I would make Cream Gravy and Biscuits (this is a dream menu plan.  I can't make Biscuits.  I would have to buy frozen)
Friday . . . If there was Fish Market in town I would buy a Lobster for the Cowboy (I am allergic), some Shrimp, Crab Claws and I would make
A Seafood boil with Corn on the Cob, New Potato's and Crusty French Bread.
I am Jazzed
I can still Plan a menu!

To relax this week I will
Visit our local Library.  I have been thinking about how
much I miss the Library.  Ours is open now.   I may not check out any books.  It's not like I am lacking for books to read!

I like to go and look at picture books I call them.  If I get
to go I'll write a whole post about the beautiful books I enjoyed.

On my To Do list
#1 go to the Library
#2 go to Dollar Tree for household and maybe buy a pumpkin for my front porch display
#3 move furniture and bring table into my crafting space/room
#4 start sewing again.  As in make a quilt

My Ta Da moment
Not so exciting but I managed to get the Cowboy an
appointment to get his knee checked.  He see's surgeon in Oct. but that was too long to wait if he had an infection!

In the craft space
I am trying to re-arrange my room to bring a table for cutting table set up I hope to be able not only to cut but quilt my Pumpkin quit!

 I miss quilting

From the camera

Prayer request
We know the Cowboy will not be able to go back to work.  This was unexpected and we were not prepared.  We have spent our savings.
We are trying to find and navigate resources and agencies that will help us.
I have not been able to work because of COVID.  The family I clean for said maybe September.
I need to go back to work.

So sorry your husband will not be able to work again. Glad he doesn't have an infection in his knee but arthritis is still not good.
Hope you have a wonderful week

Enjoy your library visit! I was just checking to see if ours had opened yet. They are still only open for pop in and pick up, not browsing. SIGH. I really miss browsing the shelves at the library. Hope you have a wonderful week!
