Blog 365 #3 Prepping for Christmas in January

Yes it is the perfect time to plan!

See.  Times a wastin' and there's lots to do!

1.   Evaluate

The first thing I do once Christmas is over is evaluate.

How did it go.  Was I stressed.  Why was I stressed.

Was I happy with the food I planned and cooked?

Decorations.  This is a big one for me.  I look around the house and take pictures of everything.  It is amazing what you see in a photo that you don't see in real life!

2. Shop

This is the fun one and my favorite!
Everything is on sale after Christmas.

You might have to hit a bunch of places but it is so worth it.
You can find great things for decorating.
Ornaments and baubles.
Wrapping paper and paper goods.
I grab all the holiday plates I can find!
Check Amazon and Craft stores on line for sale and discount craft supplies!
And grab Christmas cards . . .

3.Prep Christmas Cards

Buy cards after Christmas at a deep discount and prep them now.
If all you do is sign them your one step closer!
If you know you are 'stayin put' write the return address.

Check to see if the Post Office had Christmas Stamps left.  You can also check the Post Office on line.

If you add a family photo make a plan now for when and where you'll have your photo shoot and get it on your calendar.

4. Make a Calendar
Most of use have planners and calendars to keep us organized with daily life.

But to have Simplified and Blessed Christmas I make a year calendar dedicated  Christmas.

Because
It's a Big Deal

By using a yearly calendar  you can plan focus on tasks earlier which helps have a stress-free Christmas!

5.
 Use the Calendar
It might seem like extra work and just one more thing on the long list of things to do.

But it doesn't  take alot of time.
When I think of an activity  or a task I need or want to do I jot it down in a daily planner.  I might have an idea of when I need to do the task.  Or I might have to think a bit before

Get A Pencil
And
Eraser

We all love pretty pens and cored ink and colored pencils.

But for this one task just a plain 'ole pencil does the job.

Because
This now and for the next few months we need to be flexible.

I might have planned on a family portrait  in August during vacation . . .

Maybe I hear of a photographer offering a 'Get Acquainted Sale' in June!
Sign me up!

And so now us the time  to relax and do a little planning and evaluating because . . .

XO
