A New Project -Junk Journal Part 1

Hello and Welcome
I am happy to be here today to share a new project with you.

I'll be sharing a Flower Theme Junk Journal from start to finish.

These are two tags or journaling cards that I have made for the project.  Each piece is layered with papers and fussy cut images and some vintage lace.    Below is the inspiration for each piece.

This is a photo copy of the inspiration which was a sticker purchased at Dollar Tree. The black edge was actually white glitter.  It printed black.  Which inspired me to do the projects with some black paper because the image looked to me like it was stamped with black ink.

On the right is the original sticker.  On the left the version I made with a stamped image.  My Mason Jar was clear.  I added the heart stamp in the middle.  It was super hard to do because the stamp was on a roller.  I had a heck of a time centering and getting it to go in the correct direction.  The bird at the bottom is also a stamp.  I layered the paper paper and glued the jar on and forgot I wanted to add lace.  It is is barely visible.
Again here are both pieces.  On the right is the first one I made with the copied sticker and the pretty lace showing.  On the left is the 2nd one with stamped and fussy cut images.

These pieces will go in the Flower Theme Junk Journal I am making.

Of course my first step in making the Flower Junk Journal was to collect paper and bits and pieces of lace and ribbon and anything with a flower.

I had notepad pages that I got from a Pen Pal.  My next step was to dye them.  These are dyed pink with an Avacado peel

I wanted a Vintage feel so I looked for old tags and found a few and a shopping list.  I will use cut the header of the shopping list and glue the line paper to the back of a tag or card I make for a journal space.

I also dyed paper and doiles.  The paper on top was a bargain at Hobby Lobby.  The background was originally white.  It looks very pretty dyed Pink.  It was on a roll and I have lots.  I like to use it because the Flowers are pretty and big and easy to fussy cut.

After the paper is dyed and then dried I iron them between parchment and waxed paper to make them flat and smooth.

Are you wondering just
What is a Junk Journal

Here are a few examples

Blank pages ready to be filled with photos, and embellishments.
I found this one when I did a google search.  It appears to be stained or dyed paper bound into a book.

Another good example showing all the different textures.  Lot's of lace, ribbon and fibers.  Also some of the pages have tabs on the edge.  Some books include some dangles from the tag.

And now an example of things that go inside a J.J.

These pieces are called 'Fraken Paper'.  Basically they are bits and pieces of leftover papers that are glued on a base.  I photographed these to enter in a 'Sneak Peek' for another Journal that I am making.  This one will be made completely out of Junk.

I hope you have enjoyed visiting today.
