Fall Sewing

I've been doing some Fall sewing.  I've been wanting to make a quilt from this book  for years . . .

Love the rabbit. He's on my list.
This is the quilt I'm working on . . .
Art Gallery 1: Art Gallery 1
This photo was found on Christals website ChristalCarter.com.
The quilt is a very simple pattern.  But a challenge because there are so many pieces.  The blocks are
traditional log cabins and variations of traditional blocks.

The blocks are made using a strip piecing piecing method.  The strips are cut 1".  Each block contains 9 strips and is 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" when it is finished.

There are 646 total blocks.  The quilt is pieced in sections.  I am about 3/4 done with piecing.

I photographed these blocks with a sweet pumpkin that one of my students parents gave me yesterday.

She gave it to my for Happy Fall.

That was so sweet.  There was a new Fall color plastic glass with a lid and straw.  A calendar.  A package of  M & M's and hand lotion.   Also in the photo are a few of the flowers I bought at Dollar Tree today.

Quess what I'm doing tomorrow afternoon when I'm not sewing?

This looks like it will be a beautiful quilt, and it is a skill I would really like to learn along with our daughters. Thank you for sharing it :-)

Our church had a young women's Bible study. As part of our time together, we made "strip quilts" which were sent to an orphanage in a depressed area of the country. It was wonderful to see the girls personalities shine through in the color fabric they chose.

My daughter-in-law taught me how to make a quilt which I made for our guest room at the time. Sewing doesn't come easy to me, but I did enjoy the process and the results.

Thanks so much for sharing your quilt project with us. :-)

Love the pattern and I can't wait to see your finished quilt! It's always so nice when students give their teachers a little something. Heaven knows they certainly deserve it! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs,

Yikes --- two and a half inch finished blocks!!! Much to small for me to tackle, I'm sure. But I would love to see your finished quilt - you seem to be coming along with it very well indeed.
