Happy Homemaker Monday

Still scorching hot, we've hit highs of 100 and 102 already. Lord help us. (copied from Sandra 3's changed)

Things that make me happy:
Chocolate milk shakes splurged Friday and took my mom to Steak and Shake dawng their expensive but yummmmy! And having my family together our little family of Cowboy, our dog Daisy and our cat Rascal.

Book I'm reading:
just finished The 19th Element by John Betcher posting review tonight.
Reading Shamra Divided by BarryHoffman (young adult novel)

What I'm enjoying on TV:
I should take this one off. Never watch t.v.

On the menu for dinner:
Pork chops, fresh corn on cob and canned green beans

On my To Do List:
Laundry and write reviews

New Recipe I tried or want to try soon:
Crockpot Chicken Tortilla Soup found over at Kim's cooking blog

In the craft basket:
I dug out a cathedral window quilt I am working on for my daughter it is all done by hand. I am crazy. I really need to finish it though.

Looking forward to this week:
Getting approved for apartment ministry. Moving into our new place and beginning ministry.

Tips and Tricks:
My mother swears by cooking fresh corn on cob in the microwave. 8 min. I think you only cut
the ends off don't clean. Once it is microwaved the husks and silk just falls right off. Trying her method tonight.

My favorite blog post this week:
Last week I stumbled onto D.J. I am not really sure how. But she is an amazing young woman after God's own heart. Her post here will spoke to me.

Blog Hopping (a new discovered blog you would like to share with the readers):Jill over at Sneaky Momma shares her computer expertise. She has some tutorials for blogging. I really loved finding her. Go by and check her out.

No words needed (favorite photo or picture, yours or others you want to share):

ok well blogger isn't cooperating. Maybe I can add later.
Align CenterI was reminded by another blogger that we have to love each other and show each other love no matter what. Last weekend I was very upset and annoyed and hurt by my daughter. I had asked her to pick up our cat(we were moving) and she didn't do it. (she is married and has husband that acts like he's 5 and they have a 2 year old he acts like he's 4 sometimes) She didn't do what I asked and didn't call me to tell me until I had already done it at 9 pm she called me at 10. It is a long story but he got locked out of the old house and was alone with no food for a day and a half. It really hurt me. I was reminded that even though I was upset and angry with her I needed to show her love. So I did. The rest of the week and over the weekend she was back to her normal carrying self. She even called me this morning.

On my mind:
I talked to one of the girls I mentor last night. She has grown up so much in 4 years. She is thinking about a career in juvenile justice. Praise God. I know he has a wonderful plan to use her. I am so proud of her.

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:
Do not be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and petition , with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phillipians 4:6&7

I'm so glad you found a new place!

So sorry your weather is so hot there. We're a cool 92 here today compared to you! :)

Steak and Shake is so yummy!!! We don't have them where we live, but when I lived in Florida, my husband and I used to go there.

I cook corn in the microwave all the time. It beats cooking it on the stove in the summer heat!

Sorry about your cat. I'm glad it's OK.

Have a good week. :)

I love anything with ice cream. I cream is my downfall. It is warm here too but this week it might not be so bad in the lower 90's but lots of rain.

Hi!
We finally got a break in the heat wave. And the humidity has gone way down. I love Steak and Shake milkshakes but boy are they expensive. I treat myself to one every now and then. Have a great day!
