Word Filled Wednesday-Catching Up

Some of the people in this family either have a greener thumb or more luck.  This is my son and the garden he has at his work.
They already have an abundance of Zucchini my DIIL (Daughter in Love) has been asking for recipes.   The cucumbers are growing great on the tripods and you can barely see Pop Corn on the end.

It's been a busy, fun but hard couple of weeks.  I have been mainly only getting my review and spotlight post up for my book blog.
Click here to visit.   I have been doing less reviews, instead doing guest posts and spotlights because things are getting busy for me.

My mother who is 93 was her most of last week.  I bribed her
by telling her what the menu was for the 4th and then told her if she stayed through Saturday we would take her to Mexican Inn.
She enjoyed her meal and enjoyed looking out the door at the
traffic and people going by.  We took the first booth because she
has a hard time walking.  She is cranky and won't use a walker!

Mother insisted on paying and I guess it was good because a huge
can of worms was opened up.  I have been telling my sister who
is the oldest I was concerned about the finances.  When she tried to pay with her debit car it was declined.  She pulled out another one.  Same story.  Then she tried a credit card.  I ended up paying cash.

I was planning on taking her home after dinner so I did and told
her I would come back on Monday morning and go to the bank.
The debit card issue was resolved because she had a 3rd one we didn't try which was the correct one.  She had never thrown away the out of date cards!

There are still some concerns and issues with her bill paying etc. and so I have spent the last couple of days working with my
sister to get it all straightened out.

In the midst of all this last Friday I began a pet sitting job.
Although Domino enjoys the other dog it is stressful for her.
The other dog barks at 'the wind'  and anything he sees.  When we tell him no Domino gets scared.  It was a long hard weekend.  I've
decided no more pet sitting.

And so here I am and it's Wednesday and I have not written or even shared a fun picture on the blog this week.
What's up??

I hope this one makes you smile.
Enjoy the rest of your week!
Thanks for stopping in.

Happy Homemaker in Texas

Welcome to Happy Homemaker.  I normally try to post on Saturday but the last two weeks have been crazy with lots to do! Back today posting and linking with Sandra on Monday

Sandra provides the prompts but I add a few of my own

The weather
It's summer in Texas.  A great time to stay in under the AC or the pool or lake!
It's upper 70's in the morning and creeping to 100+.  97 and clouds predicted for the 4th.

Right now I
have too much on my mind.  Trying to get my mother to come for the 4th and ultimately move in with us.  It's a one step at a time process that will take a lot of prayer and a little bit of caginess.

Outside my window
Sadness.  A bug is eating my Canna's!  Gonna have to go spray again.   And it's relative worked over a couple of tomato plants!

On my reading pile
cid:image003.jpg@01D41001.90DAD820 print copy to read this week. And a few on my phone

The 'To Do' List
Finishing getting room ready for my mother
Clean for the 4th
Clean fridge
Cook for the 4th
Grocery shop for the 4th and get things for my mother
Rest and Relax on Saturday!

In the kitchen
Still need to make the Hamburger Soup I mentioned last week.
My mother will really like it so need to cook on Tuesday to have ready.

On the menu
I am guessing any planning at least again for this week is not going to happen!  Too much going on.  I am kind of flying by the seat of my pants right now.

In the garden
Gorgeous Zinnia', Mum's. I still have a couple Pansy's that are shaded and a couple Snap Dragons.  The Tomato's and Peppers are hanging on and the Cucumbers are blooming.

In the craft basket
Nothing new for now. Taking a break till I get things arranged
for mom.

From the camera
He cracks me up...Sometimes the 'ham' sometimes the GiGi put the stinking phone away!  I never know what I'll get!

Please pray for us and my mother. She is 98 and clearly cannot

Welcome to Family Supper.  Where we talk about eating together.
Today I am sharing a few plans for the 4th of July

We're starting a new tradition this year.  A Family Supper inside.
We'll go out for a bit for pictures with the sunflowers.  S'mores
 and
Image result for sparklers

A couple of the guests are experts at Sparklers
One will be reading a book waiting patiently for S'mores and Sparklers
There's a good view from that tree.  Great place to keep an eye on the smoker!
The Cowboy will be resting up after smoking all the meat!
And a special guest we will have to talk into coming

It will be a little hard to convince her to pass by Apple Bee's on the way.
But maybe our menu of

The Cowboy is smoking the meat.  Ribs and Briskit.
He's making the beans too.
Our Grandson will be making the eggs.
Our daughter is making Corn Dip and Pasta Salad and brewing the tea.
I'll be making Corn on Cob and a few other things. Chocolate.
We need Chocolate!
I'll be setting the table and doing the decorations to make
everything all festive.
It'll be quite the afternoon and evening.  I am looking forward to some fun times.

July 4th a great time for a Family Supper.
What are you doing on the 4th?
