If I Had A Tea Cup. . . (A Let's Pretend Tea Party)

. . . I would have a tea party.
I would invite a few friends
One would bring tea
One will dress up really pretty and bring cookies of course

I'll ask my friend from the library to bring a few books to enjoy

I'll set the tea cart with grandma's pretty glass dishes and pretty pink napkins . And ask my friends to pick some flowers from the garden Oh no we dropped some flower petals we must sweep before the party! . . .

And then we will be all ready for
The Fairy Princesses (in pink) to come in to our party.
We'll eat cookies and drink tea.  And visit with our friends.
And then we will read one last book.
The very best one!
And as the fairy princess's (in pink) nod off. Because it's been a very busy morning they'll be dreaming about . . .
Many more adventures and their next tea party.
Can you guess who they are inviting?

Thank you for visiting my Let's Pretend Tea Party.  All photo's are taken by me.  All prop's are family heirlooms.  The photo's of the fairy princess are actually only one princess.  Who has grown up way too fast.

This post will be linked at my favorite parties and the Tea Party at Bernideen's.  Click here to visit her party.

The Boy That Warms The Heart

          silly monkey boy:
Holding the tickets he's looking at the camera wondering why I want to take a picture with the tickets.

It was a special day for us.  We got free tickets to the Fort Worth Zoo.

It was special in a lot of ways.  Last year he was in a wheel chair.

This is what he did this year . . .

He jumped . . .
Zoo Boy Chimanzee Boy:
He grimaced . . .
Zoo Boy:
He looked at foot prints in the concrete . . .
Jumping and Climbing Boy:
He climbed every structure he could find.  And tight rope walked every wall he saw . . .
Climbing Boy:
If there was a wall or a rock.  He climbed it.  And missed the animals watching him . . .
Zoo Boy and his Pa:
He laughed at  . . .
Tatooe Boy's Phone:
This.  Which landed here . . .
Kangaroo:
It really wasn't funny.   Glad it wasn't our phone!
Kangaroo Boy:
Sometimes he does smile for the camera!
Boy n Pa:
He followed his 'Pa' who doesn't know slow . . .
Alligator Boy 2:
Wrestled an alligator
pony ride:
Of course we had to get a shot  holding his $1.00 for this . . .
shooting range:
He's an excellent shot.  It runs in the family.

Monkey Hitches a ride:

At the end of a long morning he caught a ride!

It's tiring spending the day looking at animals, running, jumping and climbing.

It makes you really, really hungry . . .
Burger Boy:
Hungry enough to eat every bite of your hamburger!

He's the boy that warms my heart!
Do you have a youngin' that warms your heart?

My 3 Critters

Today I'm sharing a few pics of my 3 favorite critters . . .
                                            The Journey Back:
These 3 certainly loved each other.  This is probably the last photo taken with all 3.
We lost our dear cat just after Christmas.  He was definately the cat with 9 lives.  He'd been through a lot with us.  Poor guys.
He loved this boy . . .

He 3 and informed me at nap time "We not tired."

He loved Daisy . . .
The Journey Back:  The Journey Back:
He loved me.  Yes that's me.  Maybe I should have titled this post 4 critters . . .

Finished It But . . .

This week I worked on using up my stash of fabrics . . .
                                T:
I had this stack of precuts plus abijillion more.  And I made this . . .
Quilt Top:
It turned out much cuter than I expected even with a mistake . . .
Quilt Opps:
That thankfully was the very last block. My poor doggies are upside down!
I made this in an attempt at using up all those cut blocks.  That were mostly florals.   Which needed to be used.  I certainly stepped out of my comfort zone by putting all these fabrics and themes together.
And, I was on a roll until I ran out of thread.  So this little number sits and waits for the fabulous border  I have planned.

But when I'm in a mood to sew I can't be stopped.
I found a spool of navy thread and I produced these . . .
Blue Quilt Blocks:
And a close up of a couple of the blocks . . .
Blue Block 3:
I was using these pre-cuts.  Most of the center blocks were small.
The centers are 2"
Blue Block 2:
Love how the pink one turned out!
Blue Block 1:
I seriously have no idea where that white thread came from.
There is no white or even very light grey in this cottage. (that I know  of! ).  I sewed this entire group of blocks with Navy thread.

I am indeed a Maverick quilter.

Thanks for coming over.  I'm going back to the sewing room as soon as I finish cooking dinner!

When The Rooster Crowed/Book Review

Albert!
The children laugh and giggle each time Farmer Albert
is called to "Wake Up!"

When The Rooster Crowed by Patricia Lillie is a wonderful childrens book.  Perfect for preschoolers!

The book is beautifully illustrated by Nancy Winslow Parker are fun yet each animal looks real.

As each of the farmers animals wake up and restlessly ask for their breakfast the rooster crows.

And Farmer Albert who must have had a hard, long and tiring week asks " 10 more minutes."
Then each time counting down till he finally has to give up and feed the animals.
The story beautifully tells about all the animals on the farm.

This book is perfect to read with a Preschooler.  The children loves when the reader makes the
individual sounds of each animal.

And when the Farmers Wife calls him loudly down for breakfast!

How about a peak inside . . .

                                            Found on Youtube
Although this fabulous book is out of print the illustrators website has a link to inquire for purchase.

The book is available through amazon.  Click here.

The review of this book is my opinion.  I was not asked to review it by anyone.

Sweet Dogs

The Cowboy has to keep me reined in because I would be the weird old lady with lots of dogs.
So since I can't bring them home I'll just share them here . . .

A Labradoodle.  Part Lab. Part Poodle.  And adorable.  I can only imagine what a puppy would be like.
I think I really want maybe a 3 year old trained one. LOL.  There is one in our apartment that is about 2 1/2
I've watched him from puppy stage to adult hood.  His family was truly dedicated!

Or how about . . .

                                             Source
A Chesapeak Bay Retriever.  I've wanted one of these forever.  They have the look and agility and attitude of a Lab but a soft curly coat.  They aren't very common in Texas.

Why can't I have them all?

So, what puppy would you bring home?
