9 Questions on Saturday a Meme

I found a fun meme over at Coletta's Kitchen sink.  I thought I would join.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Back in the USA (1978)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
1) This song lists seven cities -- New York, Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago, Chattanooga, Baton Rouge and St. Louis -- that Linda just loves. How many have you visited?
The only one I haven't visited is L.A.  Sadly I have never been to California.  Yet!
2) The lyrics refer to hamburgers sizzling on the grill. What toppings do you believe make a perfect burger?
Maybe burgers this week.  I topped my with Guacamole! Yummy!
3) The original recording of this song by Chuck Berry has always been one of Linda Ronstadt's favorites, one she used to enjoy singing along with in the car. What's the most recent song you sang?
Believe by Brooks and Dunn  was watching the NRHA Derby my son's horse half brother was competing and he won!
 4) Linda sang The National Anthem at Game 3 of the 1977 World Series. The New York Yankees won both that game and the series. How is your baseball team doing this season?
Embarrased only a little I have no idea.  Should ask the Cowboy!
 Since this is our last Saturday 9 before Independence Day, let's ask some questions about the holiday.
5) During the Revolutionary War, General Washington celebrated the 4th of July by giving his troops a double ration of rum. Will you imbibe any spirits on Independence Day?
I was actually thinking frozen Margarita's might be nice.
6) The first man to sign the Declaration of Independence, John Hancock, said he wrote his name so large King George could see it, even without his glasses. Do you require glasses for reading?
All the time and need new ones!
 7) Since July 4 is a federal holiday, banks are closed and there's no mail delivery. Thanks to email and ATMs, Sam finds going without those services isn't a hardship. What about you? Will you find it inconvenientthat banks and the USPS are closed on July 4?
Don't really call about the banks. .  The post office is the one I'll miss always have something to mail
8) The first 4th of July parade each year is held at 12:01 AM in Gatlinberg, TN. Will you attend a parade or fireworks to celebrate the 4th?
Nope staying in having family dinner.
9) More and more Americans celebrate our nation's holiday by eating foods from Italy and Germany. For the July 4, 2016 holiday, more than $50 million was spent on Italian sausage and bratwurst. What's on your 4th of July menu?
Ribs, Briskit, Pinto's, Corn, Pasta Salad and Deviled Eggs.
Thankful Thursday
I had a lot to be Thankful for this week.  I got to go on a special
date with The Cowboy because it was our Anniversary!
It was special because he chose the restaurant where we went on our first date!  It was such a surprise that he thought of it.  And that they are still open after all these years!
It was fun and nostalgic.  We laughed as we looked at the menu
wondering how much the dinners were waaaay back in the day!
We didn't have these on our first date.  I was 17 he was 20.
The meal was great I/we enjoyed it so much.  It was just as good as always.
I had a yummy Soft Cheese Taco, Enchilada, Crispy Taco & Guac
My meal was only $9.00.  The Cowboy's was $ll.00.
His was similar and Enchilda,Rice,Beans, Taco, Guac and he got a
praline.  I knew he would get one.  He loves them!
The most special part of the evening was when he surprised me
and prayed before our meal.  He thanked God for me!  He thanked
God for 41 years!
We are Blessed and Thankful!
Happy Homemaker in Texas
Welcome to am almost weekly Saturday post.  I am sorry I missed last week.  The end of the week was a bit crazy and then all last week I played catch up!
But today I am Happy to have a day off to plan somethings and share with you!
The weather
has already gotten hot.  We may be having a really hot summer since it's already been in upper 90's and a couple days reaching 100.  I am already looking and planning for Fall!
Right now
I am thinking about cooking some scrambled eggs!
Outside my window
I have a little garden beside the front walk just outside the window in my 'creating room'.  The rose has stopped blooming from the heat I guess but I have Begonia's and Dusty Miller to look at. I also
have some Canna's planted closer to the house but I can't see them.
On my reading pile
I finally got a chance to sit down with Falling for You by Becky Wade.  My review is posted here
I have a few Cozy's and a romance or two  to read . . .
      I Think I Love You by Lauren Layne
The 'To Do' list
Deep clean house
Mop the kitchen daily
Relax (hehe)
Finishing binding quilt and hang
My 'Ta Da' moment
I finished the quilting on my July 4th quilt and the binding
is almost done.
In the kitchen
Making this week
My Mom's Old Fashioned Vegetable Beef Soup - an easy dinner recipe that can be made in the slow cooker!
Or maybe this
Slow Cooker Vegetable Soup - This Slow Cooker Vegetable Soup recipe is so simple to make and absolutely scrumptious. A definite family favorite! // addapinch.com
Leaning more toward Hamburger Soup.  I'll loosely follow this
recipe but cook on the stove.  I don't have a big crock pot.
On the menu
Taking a break on menu planning.  We are trying to clean out the freezer to defrost it.  Not sure what will come out when during the week. We have a few choices
Ribs (2 racks),  Shrimp, Talapia, Ground Beef (4 2# packages), Spinach Tortellini and a few unrecognizable leftover packages
In the garden
Sadness.  The tomatoes have just stopped.  The neighbors say
it is too hot!  The cucumbers have blooms (alot) my least favorite thing in the garden.  The bell peppers stopped also.  It was really hot the last few days.  My flowers are more shaded they are doing better than the crops!
In the craft basket
My fabric and machine are calling my name.  I plan to quilt my
pumpkin quilt next and then start creating again.
Still working on folding fabric and get the room back organized again!
Falling for You by Becky Wade- Book Review
Cover Art
About the book (provided by Baker Publishing)
Famously beautiful model Willow Bradford is reveling in the peace and quiet of her hometown right up until the moment she comes face-to-face with her ex-boyfriend, Corbin Stewart.
Former NFL quarterback Corbin is forceful, charming, and accustomed to getting what he wants . . . except where Willow is concerned. He's never been able to forget her, but Willow makes it crystal clear she's unwilling to risk her heart again.
When a decades-old mystery in Corbin's family brings them together, will the heartbreak in their past and the complications in their present keep them from falling for one another all over again?
And I thought
It was a delight to revisit the Bradford's through Willow's story.
All the characters are fun, charming and endearing.  I was
excited to get the chance to revisit them.
To be honest I loved the cover of True To You book 1 in the series.
But this cover just 'got me'.  It drew me in and I wanted to turn the pages!
Becky Wade has a way of providing us with a little more than a sweet clean Contemporary Romance.  Becky includes some interesting twists with stories that have a bit of mystery.
In Falling For You Willow is thrust back into an acquaintance with Corbin through his pseudo 13 year old niece who has a
secret and mystery to solve.
Neither Corbin nor Willow want to be 'involved' again after a bad break up but Corbin can't say no to Charlotte and once Willow
meets Charlotte she too is torn.
The story moves along at a good pace and you'll be turning the pages as things get interesting and the tension between Corbin
and Willow heats up.
Corbin and Willow struggle to get past the issues and the hurt they caused each other in the past and they each have 'thing's that pull at them and cause them to question themselves and how they feel about each other.
Falling for You is a great Christian Romance that will have you turning the pages and wanting read the rest of this series.
Thankful Thursday on Friday
Hello and Welcome to my late post!  I planned this post for Thursday and go so behind with my day I didn't get it finished.
Image result for thankful
For cameras and photos.  This week I shared a photo I took last January it wasn't a post filled with words about the photo.  I posted for Wordless Wednesday.
It's a bit of a silly photo.  But there is a story behind it.  In a couple of days I'll be sharing that story!
Today I shared this photo
This is Rascal.  He was a sweet kitty every loved him.
I am thankful for photo's.  I am thankful we can have our memories saved!
And I am thankful that I thought to look for a Photo Collage app
for my phone.  A few years ago I made Mosaics or Collages for a link party but my computer decided it wouldn't let me do it anymore so I have been unable to.   But with the new app I can make Collages again!
One I made a few years ago.  I love these memories.
 What a smile!  Sometimes he is so fun and so silly!
 Another favorite memory.  He seems so small.  He's 10 now!
Back when I made this one I was able to make more changes to the blog and put photo's on my header.  I can't seem to make it work anymore.  These were photo's that I had on my header.
Photo's, cameras & Apps just a few of the things I am thankful for!
What are you Thankful for today?
