About the book
When it comes to love and matters of the heart, she’s got a lot to learn.
Estate planner Penny Thornton loves dusting off items others gloss over, especially since she relates to feeling tossed aside for the “bright and shiny”. When her younger sister’s approaching wedding launches Penny back into the throes of her dysfunctional family, she decides to use the festivities to close the gap in their relationships—even if it means appeasing them and finally losing the few pounds they’ve hounded her about for years. But she doesn’t expect to meet two very different men in the process. East Fisher, the personal trainer who personifies everything she believes she could never attain, and Jonah Black, a man who reminds her so much of herself. Both men are more than they appear at first glance, and both seem interested in her romantically. As Penny uncovers their hidden layers, she discovers when it comes to love and matters of the heart, she’s got a lot to learn about estimating value.
And I thought
There are a few words that come to mind to describe this one.
Remarkable for one. A super great read! I really enjoyed it!
Susan Tuttle gave us a sweet romance with a plot(s) that kept this reader turning the pages. There were a couple places that I did predict what was going to happen at least I hoped. I figured out who the 'best guy' was and I was rooting for him almost to the very end.
Not only is this a romance there is an additional layer of plot with Penelope's family that makes for an interesting read. I went from
really disliking her sister Bella to sort of liking her to wanting to read the rest of her story. I would love to see what happens next to Bella and Micah.
The story revolves around the upcoming wedding of Penelope's sister Bella there's a bit of drama going on and some attempted matchmaking.
The other plot is the relationship of the groom and his best man
Jonah they are cousins and their family is going through some struggles that impact them both.
Jonah and his sister Rachel become good friends with Penelope when the hire here to help them with their grandmothers estate.
A First Glance was in my opinion exceptional. I will be suggesting it at my library. I would like to see it available at Christian book stores also.
My review will appear on retail sites and Good Reads.
