Oh My Bloomin' Begonias

Sharing today the still lovely Begonia's that my dear daughter and grandson gave me for Mother's Day.

Yes
I said Mother's Day

I've always wanted a Christmas Cactus.  I guess this is the next best thing . . .
 :
Please don't notice the dead tomato
The weather has been so nice here they were still growing when we had a cold front a few weeks ago so I brought the pot into the
glass room/green house.
 :
Yesterday I decided to try cutting them back to see if they would last. . .
 :
They look nice in my kitchen window
I love my kitchen window!
It may sound silly but I haven't haven't had one in 10 years!
I should have mentioned it in my Thankful post yesterday
 :           :
To show you how beautiful the weather is right now
 :
A little cloudy but the sky is blue and the weather couldn't be better.
This year I'm not wishin' I was on that beach about now.
I'll have to get The Cowboy to help me take a better photo of the flag!

Have A Good Day!

What's Under The Tree. . .

. . . This week I had a little help finishing off some decorating,
I saved our vintage wooden train set for our grandson to put under the tree . . .
 :

 :
It was a fun photo shoot.  He took great care putting the animals around the train just right.

When he was done I wanted a better shot so I had him crawl under the tree . . .
 :      :
Ever  so carefully he inched his way under the tree. And then posed for the camera  . . .
 :
With a cheesy grin. And then he had to fix the animals that fell down.

A couple of days later we were cleaning out some things we had in storage.  We found one of the boxes of a small collection of antique toys . . .
 :
We added our cow.  Who likes like a giant! Those poor animals
I bet they are so afraid of him.  We walks and Moo's!

 :
We also found this primitive one. He is on a wagon and rolls.
He isn't old but I love him anyway.  He was a present from my sister one year.

We had a great week bringing things home from storage.  It was almost like Christmas!

So that is what's under my Christmas tree.  What's under yours?

Interrupting My Happy Homemaker Post/Proud Parent Blue Monday

Forgive me.  I have to share.  I am so proud of this girl and her our boy . . .

My super sweet, gorgeous daughter ran her first marathon for
Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas on Sunday.

My sweet grandson ran on Saturday . . .

Our boy ran with his Auntie Michelle.  His adopted aunt she has been my daughters friend since second grade!
Bless their hearts it was in the 30's on Saturday.  On Sunday it was in the 50's and topped out at 70!

They were super excited to enter this race . . .

From here FB . . .
Got our shirts and bib numbers....we are gonna race this weekend. Zane will run the 5k and I'm entered for the half marathon. We are running to support our FAVORITE hospital, Scottish Rite. They helped put Zane's hip back together and now he is off and running...literally!!! WFAA will air race coverage, cheer us and even better....make a donation to our beloved hospital!!!!!!!! — feeling determined.

Thanksgiving Day training race . . .

When he's not running to raise money for Scottish Rite Hospital he's doing this . . .
Check out the Batman belt.

Another training shot . . .
Mama runs he rode his bike!

Another training run . . .
April run.  Here's her FB post . . .
Zane entered a 1K walk and I entered a 5K.
We started and we finished! Got a t shirt too!
The 20th Victory over Violence race was a success. I asked Zane if he'd want to race again and he said "Definitly!!"
 — feeling accomplished.

And why we support Scottish Rite Hospital . . .
Because of Scottish Rite Hospital he can do this . . .

Before . . .

Six months in a wheel chair after . . .
 This . . .
Immobility for 8 weeks!

He couldn't stay away from the barn . . .

We are blessed.  We are proud . . .
Scottish Rite Hospital provided the care he need at no cost.  Our daughter is a single mom (not by choice).  She works hard but her job doesn't provide health insurance.

God blesses.  God provides.  If you don't think so or are not sure.
Read this post again.  If you have questions.  I will gladly share more of the story.  You need to Believe.

If you or someone you know is a victim of Domestic Violence
don't give up.  Don't give in.  Seek help.  It's there.

This post will be linked at all the parties this week including Blue Monday.  For a complete list visit my parties page.

Merry Christmas

Fall Thanksgiving Mantle

Sharing my Thankfulness.  I've decorated the mantle with things
I am thankful for.
A group shot. Thankful for my kids and grandkids.
This darling photo from last Halloween was what  started this
collection.
This is the original Fall mantle.
Looks nice.
But I love the family photo's added.
No frame for this one.  Just precious even without a frame.

A blue photo album my daughter made.  And a little bird nest.
I received as a gift from a blogger friend.  Sadly she isn't blogging anymore.
My grandson.  He was 4.  The horse was my son's horse growing up.
On the right one of my favorite photo's.  These two cousin met for the first time last fall.
My son and his family live in Missouri.  We don't get to see them often enough.
My DIL is great at sending photos.
This is our son and grandson.

 Lots to be Thankful for.
Hoping you have a Fabulous Thanksgiving.

Blue Monday-A Thank You Note

Welcome to Blue Monday.
Recently I received a really sweet Thank you note . . .
 :
It was so sweet and totally unexpected.  And it even had a Blue
stamp.
  :
What a delight to receive such a sweet note.  Here's the super sweet inspiration for the note . . .

It was just such a joy to receive that note.  Especially since he was so sweet to let me interrupt his Lego building.

I took a few pictures that day . . .
They made a nice collection.
It's a little difficult to see the books.
  And it's Blue.
The books were so adorable.  I really thought it would be fun
to have my grandson be a part of the review.

              T:
He gave the books a 'thumbs up'.  If your interested in reading the review it is here.

It really made my day to receive such a sweet note from the author.

If your a regular reader of my blog you know that I read and write a lot of book reviews.  Sometimes I feel like there are way too many.  And the reviews have taken over my blog.

Please be assured that is not my intention.  In the next few weeks you'll be noticing alot more regular posts.

There won't really be less reviews.  Just a more organized way of posting.  I am busy writing posts and reading so I'll be needing to put those old Blue slippers on . . .
And resting in between posting and linking to all the great parties.
