Happy Homemaker Monday

Joining Sandra to share a little about my week . . .
                                              happyhomemakermonday
The weather is . . .
Finally getting to a nice spring.  We had few warm days then rain and cold last week.  It's been 55+ in the mornings and some lovely 70's

Right now I am . . .
Thinking about my day.  Eating a little breakfast and trying to get this post done before I have to leave for work.
Yes I got a job.  It might be temporary but at least we'll have a little added income for awhile.

Thinking . . .
That I am thankful for God's provision.  He truly is into the little things.

On my t.v.
Always sports and hunting and a few cooking shows.  The Cowboy spends most of his time watching t.v. and hogging the remote.  HeHe.

On the menu for this week . . .
It's really frustrating to me when we're so low on money.  I have to end up using up the freezer and pantry.   We always have
green beans and corn in the pantry.  And usually a variety of canned tomatoes.  It seems to be pretty easy to get these on sale so we do stock up for these seasons of struggle.

In the freezer we have some
chicken, a pork tenderloin, and some fish.

So I'll figure out what I can manage to whip up.

On my to do list . . .
Organizing the house.  We've brought some things from storage
mostly books that need to find a place on shelves.
I have to decide what I can keep and use and what I'll have to pass on.
Changing the dining room table and mantle.

Looking forward to this week . . .
Payday

Looking around the house . . .
Chaos actually.  I have to get to that 'to do' list.

On my reading list . . .
 posting review tomorrow

Image result for lynette eason always watching
reading now.

From the camera . . .
T:

My new cleaning service!  Check out the supervisor!

On my prayer list . . .
I have a new temporary job (maybe) I am keeping house for a very wealthy (demanding) family.  The previous housekeeper is ill (mostly because of stress).  I took the job on a temporary basis to help out the cleaning company.  So please pray for Michelle the previous keeper and the "L" family 4 kids, 4 dogs and mom and dad and nanny.

Happy Homemaker Monday

Joining Sandra today and sharing a peek at my plans for the week . . .

The weather is . . .
It's been nice but really, really windy.  It's a cold north wind so makes it cold.  Hopin' my veggie
plants survive.

Right now I am . . .
writing this post early on Sunday.  I have a job interview first thing Monday morning.

Thinking . . .
I don't know what to think about this interview.  All I've done the last month is go
on interview after interview.  The Cowboy is calling me a professional interviewer.
I'm trusting God's timing or at least trying.

On my t.v.
Last night I stayed up way too late.  Or rather this morning.  Started a show that came on at 12:00
and forgot it was two episodes so stayed up till 2:00.  I hate to admit but I'm a fan of Scandal.
I watched repeats last night.

On the menu for this week . . .

Monday-- Pork Tenderloin, Green Peas and leftover Pasta with a cup of Gumbo
The Cowboy likes a little Gumbo with a meal not a bowl of Gumbo.  Had some leftover Okra and
the leftover chicken, and sausage in the freezer. So it's a Gumbo day.
Tuesday -- Roast, Potatoes and Carrots
Wednesday -- Goulash, Fried Zuchinni, Corn On The Cob
Thursday -- Homemade Pizza
Friday -- Eating Out

On My To Do List --
Finishing up a project for a swap  (can't tell yet), starting and finishing the same project for my
daughters birthday on Friday.  Gathering paper for a paper swap.    Tidy the house.
Keep looking for a job.

Looking Forward To This Week --
My daughters birthday.

Looking Around The House --
I've been moving things around trying to fit all our furniture and things in a small space.
I've brought some books and fabric in from storage and trying to get everything arranged.

From The Camera . . .
T:
So proud my son just started a new job a couple of weeks ago.  His dream job.  He is the manager at a
quarter horse breeding facility.  This is one of the new foal's only  a few hours after birth.

On My Prayer List . . .
My job situation and our finances

Bible Verse-Devotional . . .
Yes:

Thanks for sharing my week!

Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY

Outside my window... At my daughters adopted families house. I spy a Paint horse, a Palomino horse, a pig named 'Sherman Rocket' (because he came from Sherman, Texas and runs around like a 'rocket') a trailer full of hay for the winter.  And green grass.

I am thinking... I love visiting here.  I

I am thankful... I know I sound like a broken record but I am so thankful God is taking care of my daughter.  And that we are in her life again!

From the learning rooms...(if this applies)  Me...how to machine quilt.

In the kitchen...At home I left a little brisket in the crockpot and 4 cooked hamburger patties for Cowboy who is a bachelor this week.  If he doesn't remember to pick me up on Wednesday he'll have to start eating ramen noodles! Bet he remembers.  Oh here we're having mac and cheese and fish sticks. (and I am going to raid the fridge and see if there is anything left from Thanksgiving!  My daughter is working late that's why I am here.

I am wearing...warm clothes, sweat pants and a long sleeve t-shirt.  It got cold here over night!

I am creating...My first ever t-shirt quilt.  It is turning out really big and is a huge challenge.  I hope I finish it tomorrow.

I am going... no where!

I am wondering... If I can get everything done while I am here that is on my list!

I am reading...nothing right now I just finished a couple of books from the Tiny Blessings series from Steeple Hill publishers.  Writing a review when I get back home!

I am hoping...that we get the inter-net back on Friday.  Tried Clear didn't work.  Changing to Virgin ( I don't like that name)  I hope we can get a good signal!

I am looking forward to...tree decorating tonight. (photo's tomorrow) and Friday night Christmas party at the children's home where my daughter works and where our horse lives.

I am hearing...silence at least for another few minutes.  The baby (3 year old...I need to stop calling him that!) is asleep.  He plays hard on Mondays at church.

Around the house... here roomyness....at home well the exact opposite.

I am pondering... my favorite Christmas memories

One of my favorite things...a sweet boy (I said boy. wow) walking into the room after a nap!  He is adorable

A few plans for the rest of the week: finishing 'said' quilt, getting my Christmas decorations out of storage, Drama Team on Wednesday and party on Friday.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

He woke up and chose the photo.

Outside my window... A nice fall day a little brisk, I love sweater weather . . . the cat

sitting at the door ready to come in for a nap

I am thinking... I am happy to be writing a post today

I am thankful... I/we are spending Thanksgiving with our daughter and she gets to cook and have us over

From the learning rooms... me...God gives me what I need. . .
I said to the Lord, "You are my Lord apart from you I have no good thing." Psalm 16:2.

In the kitchen...Chicken and Rice for tonight.  An old family favorite from our favorite Mexican resturant

I am wearing...Blue sweat pants or pink ministry t-shirt and heart socks (they were on top of the stack) and no shoes at the moment my feet are up.

I am creating... An atmosphere of Love in our home (trying)

I am going... to the library tonight or tomorrow I need another book!

I am wondering...What our next step will be

I am reading...will be reading the 1st or 3rd in Di Mills Serve and Protect Series as soon as I get to the library.  Just finished 2 and looking forward to another

I am hoping... God will reveal his plan for the ministry soon

I am looking forward to... Christmas

I am hearing... an airplane flying over and then silence.  I forgot to turn the radio back on after lunch

Around the house...too much we are outgrowing our little bungalow, need to rotate things and put stuff back in storage to make room for Christmas!

I am pondering...what I will be writing about tomorrow

One of my favorite things...Dr. Pepper I need one

A few plans for the rest of the week: Wednesday deliver Thanksgiving meals with the boys from the Ranch, Thanksgiving day with our daughter, and Thanksgiving Praise and Worship at the Ranch

The Simple Womans Daybook

From my daybook . . . March 21,2010

Outside my window. . . overcast looks like rain. The cat stayed out last night! And he is looking in the window now.
I am thinking. . .about my day and wondering how things with our house hunt will turn out.
I am thankful for. . .that God is good and supplies. We had amazing affirmation this weekend on some points. Did you see the rainbow on my Thursday and Friday posts?
From the learning rooms. . . Peggy added if this applies she meant this for homeschooling moms but I think it applies to all of us . . . I am learning/experiencing God's faithfulness and I am learning to have faith.
From the kitchen. . . no menu yet this week but I am trying to clean out the freezer before we move I need ideas for chicken I have an abundance. Any ideas?
I am wearing. . . jeans and old Gap henley and a sweater and socks it's still a little chilly this morning.
I am creating. . . Habits. I am working really hard on doing better at keeping the house. I swept and mopped the kitchen floor twice over the weekend. It really is really simple to do it just before bedtime.
I am going. . . no where today. Baby will be here today,Wed and Fri. because it spring break.
I am reading. . . a book about Homeschooling and a novel. I have to review both
I am hoping. . . that we don't get ahead of God.
I am hearing . . . my dog chewing on a bone!
Around the house . . . more packing, organzing and figuring out what is not going to the new house.
One of my favorite things. . . sitting by a fire at dusk and enjoying the outside with Cowboy, my dog and a glass of wine.
A few plans for the rest of the week . . . I don't know. With house hunting and all the issues around that and moving I am taking it one day, one minute at a time.
Here is picture for thought I am sharing. . .

I am sharing this photo because I wanted ask you all to pray for our house situation and for our horse. This is cowboy being silly with them. The one on the right is our paint. His name is Pal. This is a really old photo. He is now 22. In the background you can see our son. The paint was his horse. Anyway we need to find a good home for Pal. We have not been able to find a house that has land so we are forced to find him a home. We want to donate him to a camp near us. We are waiting to hear back from them. If it doesn't work we will be trying to find someone to take him. Please pray we can find him a good home.
Thanks for coming by and joining me in planning and thinking about my week. What are your plans? BTW go over to Peggy's and see what everyone else is doing this week.

Day Book Entry

FOR TODAY January 18th ... from Sherry's Daybook
Outside my window... the sun is up and it offers a beautiful day today
I am thinking... I am excited I am about to finish my mothers lap quilt
I am thankful for... God allows me to serve him!
I am wearing... light blue sweat pants with a pocket and a henley with socks I found under my bed slippers and my robe because it is cold. About the socks I have a habit of wearing them to bed then pushing them off when I get to hot. LOL.
I am remembering... Fun times when the kids were growing up
I am going... to stay home as much as I can this week. Baby will only be here today.
I am currently reading... nothing waiting on my next book to review. BTW I have two just finished and will be posting reviews and offer give a ways.
I am hoping... that we get the cable paid today. Cowboy has to go sell our bicycles today to pay it .
On my mind... Moving furniture and praying Cowboy goes along with my plan and My Home Sanctuary (my other blog) and making my home a sanctuary
Noticing that... I am feeling old and tired and my body hurts. I hope it is only the cold.
Pondering these words... "Such a tiny offering compared to Calvary ...never the less we lay them at your feet. " lyrics from Emanuel God with Us by Mercy Me.
From the kitchen... for tonight last of the left over ham and boxed potatoes
Around the house...cleaning and organizing to prepare to switch the family room to my sewing room my sewing room to Cowboys room and combining Cowboys room into family room. Which I am tired to think of doing this anyway which will make the living room a really formal room instead of the t.v. room. If you didn't get all that I'll post photo's.
One of my favorite things....being able to sew. Which hopefully I'll still be able to do during the moving.
From my picture journal...

A quilt on my design wall that I hope to finish soon. I only have a couple of trees left to applique and then add borders. It probably won't get quilted for a few more months because I want to practise on some other things but hopefully by fall it will be hanging.

Simple Woman's Day Book

FOR TODAY January 11th...
from Sherry's DaybookOutside my window...(kitchen window) I always seem to use the kitchen because it is the first window I look out in the morning. Today there is a donkey standing outside my window. In the bright sunshine.

I am thinking... How much I love waking up to the bright sun. I always pray every morning and thank God for the sun.

I am thankful for... Grace and that God knows it all. And that he gave us the Holy Spirit because when I can't put into words what I am feeling he does.

I am wearing... Not enough clothes. Still cold. I need to add another layer.

I am remembering...I was praying last night and I remembered when my kids 15 and 17 we were living in Boulder. It was cold and we were snowed in. We cuddled up together on under blankets on the couch and I read to them the Horse Whisperer. Sounds funny reading to kids that old but they soaked it up. I miss that time.

I am going... nowhere today. I will babysit the grandbaby and play on the computer till the pipes thaw and water starts to run. Then I will be busy.

I am hoping... and praying the pipes thaw and there is no breakage. And that I get to wash clothes and dishes and take a shower at home.

On my mind... what will happen. Our ministry needs a permanent home a building. I see some amazing things developing and coming together and I am just a little afraid to hope.

From the kitchen... nothing planned yet. I am thinking of baking but not today maybe tomorrow. I have yeast and flour and cinnamon. Hmmm what should I bake.

From my picture journal... above mentioned Donkey outside my window.

I finished my post and then went to the kitchen for a Dr. Pepper. This is what I saw . . .
Simple things make me smile. They are all laying in the sun. God always seems to know what will make my day.
Thanks for visiting today. The Simple Women's Daybook is hosted by Peggy you can visit her and join the group.

I hope your day is Simple and Blessed.

Lingering on Simple Things

Today I am joining Peggy at Simple Woman again. I did this a couple of times in '09. And well it seemed right to do it today. So sit down grab a cup of tea, hot chocolate or coffee. Or in my case a Dr. Pepper and join me as I plan my week and ponder my day.

FOR TODAY the first real post of 2010

Outside my window ... Deception. Yes you read right. The sun is beautiful and shinning brightly. But it is really cold for Texas. So yes it is deceiving

I am thinking... I enjoyed the weekend. Which was spent in my sewing room.

I am thankful for... God's provision and that bills are paid again. Including cable which includes internet.

I am wearing... Really old stirups pants from Lerner's NY (are they still around?), silk long johns and a worn out long sleeve knit top with socks of course. I told it is cold here!

I am remembering... To be patient and that through trials that I am growing. At least trying to remember this.

I am currently reading... Dug Down Deep by Joshua Harris. My next book review. Watch for the review on this one.

I am hoping... My dreams and goals match up with God's. (See my post yesterday) I am really hoping that our ministry gets to start doing sewing again with the halfway house girls this year.

On my mind... I am thinking and praying about totally rearranging the house. Moving our big t.v. to my sewing room, moving Cowboy's room (which is the gameroom) to the sewing room too. Moving my sewing room to Cowboy's room. Why? Combining the t.v. and gameroom to one room so that the living room is more formal. Or as formal as Cowboy Chic can be. Stay tuned. Gotta convince the Cowboy.

Noticing that... How God really is in control.

Pondering these words... Grace

From the kitchen... Yummy taco's tonight. Ham and beans tomorrow. I cooked a ham yesterday I love making beans with the leftovers.

Around the house... Christmas decorations waiting to come down and snowy decorations for January. Table waiting to be set.

One of my favorite things...Quilting

From my picture journal...
A dream photo. I would love to do this.

Simple Woman's Day Book

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.

1 Chronicles 16:34 (NIV)

Today Peggy at The Simple Woman hosts the Monday meme The Simple Woman's Daybook.
Here's my entry for today.

Outside My Window...horses munching on grain. We have been worried about our old horse he is loosing so much weight. So much that people have stopped and even called the sheriff. He is 27 years old. Very old in horse years. Even our daughters riding instructor (who btw is married to a vet) told us that all the horses that were from the school and all her friends horses have already died. I am sorry I am venting here. But it is annoying when you get a knock on the door to see the sheriff and there is a round bale outside, a full tank of water etc. Anyway we went to the feed store oh I forgot to mention the grain the horse was eating was recommended by the vet. Anyway we went to the feed store and talked to the owner who we have known for 10 years or more. He suggested another kind of feed. That was two weeks ago. Well this morning the horse was trotting around and almost knocking me down. So much so I had to make Daisy stay out of the pasture! Now this is the polite horse that always minds. But it made me smile to see him so frisky.

I am thinking... that was a lot to write in one little entry. Sorry.
I am thankful for... for the above and that Buck is feeling friskier. I am thankful that I get to see our grandson almost everyday. I am thankful that he gets to go to church.
From the kitchen... gosh haven't even thought about that yet. I think I will try biscuits again. I'll have to definitely write a post about that one. Maybe Friday some people write funny things then! today it is funny. The story I'll share later wasn't so funny when it happened! I'll give you a hint
flat biscuits and a smart aleck husband.
I am wearing... a lovely little ensemble..(hehe I must be as frisky as the horse!) sorry. Navy capri workout pants with red and white stripe (bought for our one and only cruise) and a red t-shirt and white socks. Already lost the shoes I wore outside. Which btw were not boots. Don't do as I do
I am creating... A blog for our grandsons. And I am preparing to sell fabric on my other blog. So if you are a seamstress please stay tuned. I'll have dressmaker fabric, craft fabric and quilting fabric. Yardage and kits.
I am going... I am going to pick up a desk and a canoe bookshelf for our grandson. It is a hand me down from one of my daughters riding students.
I think the shelf will go in Texas Grandpa's(Cowboy) "man/boy" room. The desk will go in the master next to the crib to use as a changing table. It is getting harded and harder to change the baby in the livingroom on the ottoman. So this should work better especially when the house is full of people.
I am reading... The same book I was last week.
I am hoping... that my daughter gets the job she applied for.
That is why I didn't read much I spent most of last week keeping the baby while she either went looking or sat on the computer looking for a job. She found one and has applied. It is with our state in the juvenile corrections part. And the Blessing would be she would be working with us. It is at the office where we take the sacks of groceries.
I am hearing... the news on the t.v. talking about evacuee's leaving North Texas to return to Galveston. If you have been watching the news it is not really as they let us think. I spoke to one of our mentee's last night who I haven't talked to in too many days. The roof in her apartment collapsed on Fri. night she returned from work to find out she couldn't get in. Her Guinea pigs are still there. She is trying to call the humane society today to get them because the apartment would not let her in. She had to go and buy some clothes to wear to work over the weekend. She has been at a friends. She is 19 and her birthday was on the 13th so it was an ordeal for her instead of the party that was planned for her.
There is still much disaster in areas of Houston. Please pray for these people.
Around the house... Chaos. We spent so much time with our daughter last week that I didn't get much cleaning done. I did the bathrooms yesterday so all I have to do today is vacuum and just pick up. And clean off the computer desk. It appears to be a catch all.
One of my favorite things... I wrote about this yesterday after praying about it and confessing to God. But one of my favorite things is my blog and my friends that I have found through blogging. Some of you don't even know how much I enjoy reading your blogs. Now don't think I am a lurker. I do leave comments. But just realize if I leave more than a couple of comments on your blog, then you can count on the fact that you are one of my favorites. See the photo below it is for you.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: normal schedule. But back to my Sunday post. I am working toward getting closer to God. And spending more quiet time.
Being Still time. So that I can rest and find refuge in God's arms. And so that I can seek him and his plans for me.

Here is picture thought I am sharing...
I love flowers. I love to have flowers in my home and outside. I want to share this bouquet with you. Please copy it and post on your blog it is my gift to you today.
Thanks for visiting! Have a Blessed week.

Simple Woman's Day Book

FOR TODAY September 15th...
Outside My Window... I looked out the kitchen window across the pasture behind our house and saw our cat in the field. He was hunting something. It was a peacful sight that made me smile.

I am thinking... about the things that are on my mind. Many personal financial concerns. Yet I am thinking resolving to trust God and Cowboy

I am thankful for... No matter how many times I mess up and don't realize it; that God is always there. He will pick up the pieces. He will hold me he will sooth my spirit if I ask; and let him. And I am thankful for Cowboy and that he is trying to seek God's will.

From the learning room I am so totally excited to share this. I began a blog for our grandsons. Mainly to share with the one in Missouri what is going on and keep in touch. I saw on someones blog about Bible verse memory by using the alphabet. I was thinking it was cool and how to incorporate that. Then my daughter (who lives here and has the 3 month old) mentioned a friend she is trying to witness to and how inadequate she feels about scripture memory. Her frustration was she went to church all her life and Christian school but she doens't have a lot of verses memorized. It all came together for me. I mentioned to my son about using the blog and all of us memorizing together. The adults and the kids. So viola we are all working on scripture together! I am so excited! Can you tell?

From the kitchen... Beef and cheese enchilada's I have been wanting and needing to make for weeks!

I am wearing... A dinghy white tank and Old Navy drawstring comfy pants that I love. They are a little dinghy and worse for wear and not something you were in public. And white socks and worn out slides. It is a day at home and I am chillin' along with the normal routine.

I am creating... a closer knit family. And praying that God will Bless our efforts through the scripture memory.

I am going... to trust God more. Worship God more. Trust Cowboy more. Because I am learning that if I don't be meek and allow him to handle the things he needs to then I am really not trusting God either.

I am reading... an inspirational novel from my own library. I am not into swapping books. I buy a book and unless I hate it I keep it. The one I am reading now is called Colorado Wings by Tracie Peterson. I have read it before and enjoyed it.

I am hoping... that I can keep the resolve I have to Trust and to not worry. I am also hoping that I can get more organizied quicker and keep a better house to provide a Sanctuary for Cowboy and the kids. And I am hoping that we will be able to discern God's will for us personally and for the ministry. We discussed this morning about finding a different place to worship.

I am hearing... The dishwasher running. And utter quiet around the house. I am hearing God telling me to trust.

Around the house... Moving furniture around to make more room for baby. Last night I had the family over for my mothers birthday. I fed 7 for the first time here. I cleaned all day Saturday. Cooked all day Sunday. And so now I am cleaning the house and kitchen after the weekend event!

One of my favorite things... Dr. Pepper

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: Number 1 on my list Prayer we are going through about the hardest time financially that we have ever gone through.
The rest of my plans....
working on the family blog and the memory verse
. . .keeping the baby here on Tues and Thurs.
. . .helping our daughter and supporting them and encouraging them...she is being laid off soon and so with a 3 month old baby that is really hard for them. Another thing to pray about.

Here is picture I am sharing...

This is a photo of one of my friend Amy's new puppies. I intended for Daisy's doggie post yesterday to be about the puppies and with all the birthday happenings I didn't get to write a post. Amy has a beautiful blog and she is the host of Wordfilled Wednesday. A fun meme one of my favorites.

Thank you, thank you for coming by and reading my daybook. Please come by any time I love visitors and I love comments. God really uses this medium to encourage me.
Thanks for being an encourager.

And thanks to Peggy at Then Sinple Woman ,Iris at Stings my heart Thankful Thursday,Amy Deanne at Wordfilled Wednesday,Kelli at There's no place like home my Friday Show and Tell hostess and Amy Wyatt at Then Sings My Soul Saturday. They are all great encouragers through their meme's too. And of course my Daisy who writes on Sunday about all the animal friends she finds while blogging.
They are all listed on my sidebar.
