 And
Welcome Friends
I was thinking about doing something a little different today.
And, then I read the morning email from Grammy's Grid and was inspired to join her for Meet and Greet Monday.

I always find the cutest photo's and graphics when I google a topic.
I usually add some in my posts if I don't have a lot of personal photos.  Which sadly happens too often.  But actually most of the time they are cuter than what I can supply.

So a little about myself and my blog (s)

I began My Journey Back (your are here) way back in 2006.
I first became acquainted with blogs when I stumbled onto
BooMama's Christmas tour.

It was New Years Day. I was home alone and I was binge reading her tour (s).   I jumped in with both feet into the blog world.

See aren't these graffic's cute?

I chose my photo and name because I was at the time in a state of exhaustion and I felt like I needed to get back to 'me'.
I had spent 6 years in full-time ministry.  I loved the ministry.

We taught at-risk and incarcerated teen age girls to sew.  We made quilts and donated them to charity.  I loved this ministry.
I just didn't love the failure at the end.  When funding dried up so did the ministry.  That's another story to share at another time.

gosh I was so skinny.  What happened?
This is me back then at one of our last fundrasing lunches.

Sadly the doors closed . . .
And so with a broken heart and shattered dreams

I began ever so humbly sharing my day and my life here at
My Journey Back
The name came from me wanting myself back.
The long name came from My Journey Back wasn't available.
And actually I think it works because it has been a journey back to me.

I was am Happy with my blog.  It makes made me smile.  After
awhile I decided I wanted to be a blessing to anyone who might stumble onto and join my journey so I tried to be a Blessing to anyone who came over.

I found a wonderful blog that shared a Tuesday link party called Titus Tuesday.  I began writing and sharing encouraging posts.
Click here to read one. (the one bad thing about google images sometimes they disappear)  I wrote this post to encourage anyone feeling tired and worn out as a mom.  I have a label on my sidebar Titus Tuesday.

In fact I have a lot of labels.  If you look you can see I write about alot of things.  I have joined lots of different blog parties.
That is why I have on my header
Welcome to my crazy chaotic life
I do tend to write about too many things.  Maybe your head is spinning.  I hope not!

I do feel like I am a bit eclectic.  I have waaay tooo many interests.   I find way to many hobbies to keep me too busy.
So many that I put some of my favorites on the back burner for too long.  I need to dust off my sewing machine and get my sewing room in order before . . .
                                                         My Closet Sewing Space Tour
Time flies.  I cannot believe I have been doing this party for so long!   This cute button is on my sidebar with a link to my post.
I hope you've enjoyed getting to see a little bit of how my blog started.

I hope you'll come over and share your posts at

In June I hope you'll come back here and join the June/July party.

Remember way back at the beginning of this post I mentioned I began blogging after finding Boo Mama's Christmas tour?

I am still partying!  And now I am joining the parties.

Show And Share-A Fish Tale

Welcome to my new Friday Feature
Show and Share
Today I am sharing a treasure and a story...

This is one of my favorite treasures for a couple of reasons I love the frame. (I have rabbits hiding all over my house) and because I love the photo in the middle of the fishermen/woman! LOL
This was taken when Cowboy was much thinner isn't he handsome?

The kids are really little. The place they went is no longer there. It is now houses! It was a place in the middle of our city where you could go and catch catfish. It was a big tank a really cool place for city kids.

It is a tiny fish I am not even sure you can see it very well.  It was a catch and release place but our son just knew we took it home for dinner.

We indulged him. Our son asked us for weeks no matter what was on his dinner plate beef, chicken pork. He would ask "Is this my fish?" We would tell him "yes" and he would eat every bite!

The next photo is that little fisherman all grown up with his own fish!

This photo was taken a few years ago. This fish weighed 2 1/2 pounds.  Isn't the
water beautiful.  He fishes on a river close to their home.

Last weekend we got an email that he went fishing again with 30 grasshoppers for bait that our grandson caught!

While his dad was gone our grandson caught another huge grasshopper.

But that one he wanted to save to dissect for science! He is in first grade!

So these are my fisherman photo's and my fish tale!

I bet your husband has a few fish tales!

Wishing you Blessings for you weekend!

Show And Tell/Share

                             Welcome sweet friends
Today I decided to start something new
I thought it would be fun to share some lovelies and tell the story about them . . .

This towel was made by mother many years ago. It is actually hand applique. I don't think my mother ever did anything like this again. She was never a quilter.

She stopped sewing when I was in elementary school. She began working full time.

I began cooking the evening meal at our house when I was in 5th grade. My mother worked at Montgomery Wards at night. She would cook the meat and leave in the oven and I was responsible for the rest. I was even allowed to choose the vegetables.

Which BTW was rather funny because once Ilearned to cook frozen peas and liked them I cooked them a couple of times a week!

Here is another towel that I purchased on Ebay

Can you guess why? Yes the donkey. I love anything that has donkeys on it. I love both of these towels. They are displayed on my kitchen counter. They are called "no no" towels.

Cowboy isn't allowed to touch! Do you have a man that spills tomato sauce and grabs a white towel to clean it up?

I mean this man drives me crazy there can be a red towel and a white towel on the counter and what does he do? I'll just leave it to your imagination.

He's doing good though. He 'get's it' when it comes to No No towels

Have a Blessed Day

May I Share My Friend

I have met some really cool people since I began blogging. There have been many times when I have written thankful posts that I have mentioned how thankful I am for new friends.

I have met some wonderful Women of Faith and I thank God for them. I thank God for the way he uses them to encourage me. And I am sure many others are encouraged as well.

Today I want to share my 'little sis' Alicia with you.

Today she wrote a wonderful Wordfilled Wednesday post. Her post was about one of my family verses. A verse in Deuteronomy that gives instruction to parents.

Here's part of what Alicia said . . .
"I love this picture that my sweet friend, Beth, took this picture of us. It captures the spirit of our family. We're close knit. We're always together. We're always talking. We're always having fun. But our life isn't all about fun and games.
It's also about teaching. It is our heart's desire that our son grow in the fear and admonition of the Lord. But that doesn't just magically happen. It requires intentional thought and training (and yes, lots of prayer). "

Alicia shares great wisdom and even some suggestions to help other young parents teach thier children about God. I know you'll definately enjoy your visit and I just bet you'll find a new friend. And BTW please let Alicia know I sent you!

May your Thursday be Blessed

May I Share My Friend . . .

I was over visiting my friend Carrie at Farming on Faith just now and I wanted to share with you what she was writing about today.
I was so impressed with her heart and the words she spoke that I want to invite you over to visit.
Her post today was about sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. Specifically she was writing about sharing with those of the Amish faith.
I invite you to go over and read Carrie's post. I could not possibly say it better than she did.
And if I tried to quote or explain it here it would be a disservice to the wonderfully written words she shared.

And, while your there she happens to be having a give way so what better time than now to go over for a visit and find a new friend.

Share and Tell

welcome to Share and Tell Friday...I started this a couple of weeks ago and I am loving sharing with my readers the places I visit and the people I meet. The concept is to share a site or post that truly inspired or encouraged you this week.
I have had a long, long. Busy, busy week as you might haven't noticed no posts from me. And in my business I haven't gotten to read a lot and this morning I wasn't sure who I would share. I had read a couple of posts earlier in the week but in my rushed and hurried schedule I didn't take note of them. Hopefully I will slow down this weekend and find them and share with you.
But today I am sending you back over to Sarah Mae. She has a lovely blog and writes about home and family and what she is learning on her Journey with God. She even ended today's post speaking of her Journey.

Here is part of what she say's today...

"The sons of Ephraim were archers equipped with bows, yet they turned back in the day of battle." Psalm 78:9
"Are you facing a battle?
I battle daily with keeping my time with the Lord sacred, my affection for my husband alive, my teaching to my children consistent, my home in order, myself showered, and my own sin nature in check (by God's grace).

It is so easy to give up, to try and escape. We escape in many ways-the Internet, books, TV, friends, etc. We don't know how to push through our emotions, our tiredness, or our failures. We get stuck. We feel lost...abandoned. Our marriages lack real intimacy. We are scared to death that if we try again, we'll just fail again, so why bother. We give in. " Sarah Mae

These words really touched me this morning. Sometimes I am stuck, lost and I feel abandoned I need reminding that I need to lean on my heavenly father. Today I am rushed and I have a million things that need to be done before 2:00 and so I lean on God's grace and his sufficiency to get me through the day.

I hope your day is Blessed I hope that you lean on God.

Please visit my friend Kelli for Show and Tell it is a fun stop.

Share and Tell

Good morning. The sun is shining where I am. I hope you have sunshine today. One of my favorite blogs to visit is Kelli's House. She is the hostess of Show and Tell Friday . I love to go over and see what she is showing and visit all the other bloggers that are showing thier treasures. Go by and visit her today and tell her I sent you.

I am still away from my computer and so I can't do a Show and Tell. But I thought that I could begin a new little project. How about Share and Tell? I joined a couple of wonderful ladies last week that challenge me to memorize scripture. I love the encouragement and I really need it.

I love visiting other blogs and I thought it would be fun to Share and Tell about our favorite blogs or meme's or carnivals or maybe a favorite post of the week. Or maybe a post you read in someones archives that touched you.

Today I want to Share with you Fearless Friday it is hosted by Angela. I love her profile photo you have to check it out. Here's what she says about Fearless Friday.

"Fearless Friday Meme is se omething that I started because I know how powerful prayer is and how it DOES bring about God's yoke destroying, burdening removing power in the midst of your life. This Meme is about sharing your prayer requests with me and I with you. I also have a Prayer Journal specifically for Fearless Fridays where I write down your prayer requests with the date beside it. When a prayer has been answered, I will write in red ink PBG (Praise Be to God) and the date that God answered your prayer.I would be honored to pray for you!"

I know I need to pray more. I know that I really need to see PBG's in my life. I have had a struggle the last few weeks and just knowing that I have friends that are praying for me helps me. And it brings joy to my day to be able to pray for someone else and see thier PBG.

Thanks for visiting and don't forget to go and see Kelli. Please share with me your favorite places to visit.
