Foodie Friday & Shrimp Romelade Recipe featured in Cajun Christmas Killing by Ellen Byron

Here's Ellen recipe . . .

Shrimp Remoulade Shrimp remoulade is a popular New Orleans appetizer that is served cold. Some restaurants like the legendary Galatoire’s offer it on a bed of lettuce. Ninette Crozat likes to serve it to her guests atop a pitted avocado half. It’s a delicious and easy dish to make. Ingredients Note: It’s important to finely mince all ingredients that require it. 3 minced hardboiled eggs 3 minced scallions 2 minced celery ribs ½ cup minced fresh parsley 3 tbsp. minced dill pickle 1¾ cups vegetable oil ⅔ cup stone ground mustard (or Creole mustard, if it’s available) 2 tbsp. horseradish 283 A Cajun Christmas Killing 3 tbsp. lemon juice 1 tbsp. paprika ½ tsp. salt ½ tsp. sugar 2 lbs. cold shrimp, peeled and deveined Instructions Mix together all the ingredients, except for the shrimp. Chill for at least half an hour. When you’re ready to serve the dish, halve 4–5 avocados and remove the pits. Distribute the shrimp evenly over the avocados, and then top each serving with cold remoulade sauce. (Leftover sauce can be transferred to a jar and stored in the refrigerator for several weeks.) Serves 8–10.

Crochet Project

My project continues . . .

I used to be a quilter.  I miss it.

I miss the colors of fabrics.  The patterns.  The creating.

I think I found a new hobby to keep me busy and to learn . . .

I  am coming close to using up all those small balls of yarn from my earlier projects.
A few colors like the Yellow is all used up.  I need to order more.  I finished using all the bright Orange that I had found at my mother's.

But I have a new skein that I order for the fall blanket I have started.

This hobby is like my quilting.  I already have a couple of Unfinished Projects.

It's a challenge to use the same colors and move the placement to make them each different . . .

I am getting close to being ready to add the last Green round on each block  . . .
I did one test block.  But I don't think I have decided for the last round to be only a single crochet.  It will be smaller.   And I am hoping show up better . . .

Oh how It ve these colors . . .
Do you?

Thanks for stopping in!
Have a great day!

If

 . . . I had a

I'd plan a morning ride . . .

I would gather a few books . . .

So many to choose from!

I would sit in the shade . . .

And read a bit

And snooze in the sun.   And dream of walks on the beach . . .

And then I think I would plan a Pink Tea Party.  So easy to do.  I have so many of ideas in my head!

I would think about what dress to wear . . .

Maybe this one . . .

Or I really liked this one I found in an Antique Shop.

I need to hop back on my scooter and grab that dress and stop at my favorite flower shop to order pretty posey's . . .

So many choices.  They must be Pink of course!

I must scoot on home and look at my calendar!

Awe the perfect day . . .

Dear friends Your Invited to Tea!
