Frugal Friday--Savings At Fast Food Chains

I had the best cheap lunch yesterday and I want to share!  The Cowboy and I ate for $3.85!  This is what we ate . . .

We got 3 each for a nice filling and Frugal lunch!

A couple of weeks ago I realized what good deals they have at Taco Beuno . . .

I happened by on a Tuesday.  Ordered at the drive thru and when clerk told me how much I was surprised to find out it was on sale.
The regular price is $4.99.   So I got a bargain and didn't expect it.

The gentleman at the window suggested I sign up online for even better specials and now I get emails with offers!

I think it's cool because you don't have to have the actual coupon.
No worrying about mailers and clipping them and then using on the right day.

We've done that waaaaay toooo many times!   I check my email everyday anyway so if there is a special offered and I'm planning on grabbing lunch out then I'm happy to go where I can spend less!

The Cowboy told me that Taco Casa offers Taco Tuesday . . .

So I began to wonder where else can I eat for less?
Here are a couple of KFC's specials . . .

Monday, Chicken Pot Pie Combo. Includes Pot Pie and Medium Drink for $3.99.

Wednesday, Extra Crispy™ Tenders Combo. Includes 3 Extra Crispy™ Tenders, Individual Side and Medium Drink for $3.99.
At least you can get some veggie's if you choose these.

So where else can I get a good lunch deal?

And they give you cake for your Birthday!  Sign me up!

Schlotzsky's  has a V.I.P program.  This is the App.  The site wasn't working so I couldn't check out the current deals.

I know your thinking not so healthy.  I should be eating like this . . .

But I figure if I stick to the taco's, veggies instead of potatoes with my chicken I can still indulge in that cake at Boston Market.

There are just those days that I am in between jobs and have to stop some place to pick up food so I can manage the afternoon.

And being as Frugal as I can makes me feel a little better!

So how about you.  Do you have to stop for fast food some days?

Are You A BlogLovin' Blogger?

There were days not so long ago that it was sooo much easier to blog . . .

                                             At least I think so!
Now a days there's a lot to think about.  And frankly it's a little
overwhelming sometime . . .

Not long ago in the near distant past you could write a post.  Link to a party and a whole bunch of people would visit you and leave a comment and even become a follower of your blog.

It was simple and easy to do.  Just a click.  And it was easy to visit and follow other bloggers.

It's not so simple anymore. In some ways it is with the options to follow via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest you can grow your audience.

There are other ways too one of them is Bloglovin.    It's simple to sign up.  Some of the benefits of Bloglovin are:
It allows readers to easily follow along with your posts.
It allows you to see which of your posts are the most popular.
It helps new blog readers find your blog.

Do you use Bloglovin' to follow along with your favorite blogs?          How have you utilized this site for your own blog?

Thrifty Thursday--Sharing Parties

I've had a Thrifty week.  I love finding things for my home at awesome prices.  Don't you?

We went thrift shopping on Monday and I got this . . .

I knew I really paid too much for it but I wanted it! HeHe.
It was marked $50.00 FINAL but it was nicely framed (although I didn't care for the frame).

The clerk (who is a volunteer) said "Oh do you have a Victorian house?"  I replied "No."  She was a little confused why I would be buying a print and I didn't have a Victorian house.  (I think that's another whole post topic.)  I smiled and thanked her.

When I got home I looked it up and found it sells print only at the artists gallery for $55.00.  It was still a good deal but not a real bargain.

And speaking of post topics.   I have a post planned to share this...

T:

The house I grew up in.  We drove by a few weeks ago.  It was so cute the way the new owners have changed it up!  More photo's to come soon and a few thoughts and happy memories.

Have you visited the house you grew up in?

Don't Go To Bed Angry--Book Review

                                                           Don’t Go to Bed Angry
About the book (provided by Litfuse) . . .
A practical handbook on how to fight better—together—for your marriage.
In every marriage, there is conflict. And with every conflict, there is a choice for resolution. Will you ignore the issue until it seemingly goes away? Or will you work together to find peace?
In Don’t Go to Bed Angry, Deb and Ron DeArmond give you permission to fight. Conflict isn’t the problem, after all; the real issue is how we deal with the conflict. Deb and Ron demonstrate how communication through conflict can safeguard—and even strengthen—your relationship. Immensely practical features including worksheets and discussion questions make this a definitive go-to resource to help you start fighting—together—for your marriage.
Endorsements (provided by Abingdon Press) . . .  Visit the publishers site (click here) for a few endorsements from a few authors and Pastors including Clint and Penny Bragg-Authors, Claudia and David Arp-authors, Kim Kimberling PH.D -Author and Greg Smalley  Focus on the Family.
What I thought. . .
I wish they had written this book 30 years ago!  Lot's of insight and wisdom.  I loved the subtitle Stay Up and Fight  this is so true and so smart.    I've always remembered folks advising me not to go to bed angry.   But never had I received the advise to Stay Up and Fight but to me it makes sense to go over the conflict and try to workout whatever it is.  Maybe ending the whole thing with praying and going to bed less angry is the only option but it's a good option.
This book is a fairly easy to read and short only containing 9 chapters that end with a prayer.   The introduction is especially helpful and gives the reader an over view of what each chapter/topic is about.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  I gained so much needed knowledge and insight that as I mentioned in the beginning I wish I had 30 years ago.  So I think that anyone from the newly or young married couple to the mature couple could gain some valuable wisdom.
I would recommend Don't Go To Be Angry and give it my 5 star rating.

What Makes Me Smile About Blogging

. . . Has anyone ever asked you that question?   The one I get more from my circle of friends and associates is 'What is a blog?'                                                                    Image result for woman blogging
The subject usually comes up when I mention that I review books.
And then they are all impressed.  I kind of giggle to myself.  It's not a big deal.

These questions and comments are made mainly because the people I see on a daily basis are either working parents, or senior adults.  They either don't have the time to blog or even read a blog or don't use a computer.

Occasionally I do get asked the question Why? My answer is a smile.  Before I speak or utter words the thought that goes through my mind is it makes me happy.  It makes me smile.

What makes me smile you.  It's your visits and your comments that make me smile.

And so I have a wee little bit of a problem.  Google or Blogger has so messed up my blog that I can no longer get comments here.
I have tried and tried and tried to fix it.  But I just can't.

Which brings me to the bigger problem.  I need this blog to continue doing Book Reviews.  Which I love!

I can't just change blogs because I have to have over 100 followers to review for most publishers or publicists.

And so how do I fix this?  Are you a wordpress blogger?  Should I change?

Maybe if you have a chance you can email me and give me
so advice.  Or maybe just commiserate with me.  Maybe you have the same problem .
