Alphabet Thursday F is for Festus Missouri

America the Beautiful . . . there are some amazing out of  the way places that make America beautiful.
Join me in Touring Festus, Missouri.
We became acquainted with this little town when we lived about an hour away in Potosi, Mo.  We drove through Festus on our way to a bigger city for shopping.

I couldn't help but think  American Graffiti.  I kept expecting see Ronny Howard.  Wishin' to see
Harrison Ford. hehe.

Now a days they have organized events.  Kinda of takes away from the charm.

They have a beautiful city park for picnics and fun in the sun . . .
It's a nice lush green area.  But humid.  When we arrived in the area(Postic,Mo) it was one of the most humid days of the years.  I thought I had moved to Houston.

A great place for photos.

Wit and Wisdom Wednesday

Joining Linda Kaye for Wit and Wisdom . . . A  story behind a photo.
Please be advised this story is fiction taken from true experiences

I was sure by now that you would have reached down and wiped my tears away.  Stepped in and saved the day. . .
But yet I wipe my tears and move on.  Over and over.  Again and again.

The paper says it's over.  The ink is dry.  But is it really over?

There are days I go to work and I hear a car driving down the road and I fear 'It's him."  In fear I scan the area.  My God.  There are 6 kids here.  What do I do?  How do I keep them safe?  How do I stay safe.

I pray again.  Again.

And I realize I am safe.  Finally.  It is over.  But not really.  It's a piece of paper.

It declares I am no longer his wife.  I should feel safe.  I should feel relief.  And I do in my head?

But then I remember on Saturday it starts all over again.  My baby has to see his daddy.

Although  the above short story is fiction.  It is based on true events and feelings.
For the last 8 years my daughter has lived in constant fear.  It isn't a misplaced feeling.  She
has plenty of reason to fear.

For the last 8 years I along with My Cowboy have lived in fear.  And many times we prayed hoping that God would step in and save the day.  In his time he has taken care of our family.
God's timing is not ours.

I wonder why?  Why do you give him so many chances?  But it isn't for me to question.  He does.
I can only think in my head.  Not so much in my heart.  That there is a reason for all this.

Some way.  Some how.  She grows.  She is stronger.  And slowly but surely God begins to use her.
She shares her story.  She helps others to have faith.  To trust.

Why I Wish You A Good Day

Good Morning . . .
I hope your   having a fabulous day.  Lately when I haven't been able to post I've been leaving you with a Have a good day greeting.

I hope you've enjoyed my little greetings they are from some archived pins and photo's I've had on my phone.
I've collected these greetings for my daughter and I send them to her to cheer her up and wish her a good
day.
❤Pig❤ She has a pot belly pig.  I thought this was too cute so I thought I would share here too.
Lately I've had to spend more time either with my grandson on working on projects.  I finished an I Spy quilt
for him last night.

It's been a bit of a challenge the last few months.  My daughter is divorced.  The last couple of months there has been a battle over visitation.  Thankfully Praise God it has been worked out.  Thankfully my grandson will see his dad only with court staff supervision.

The entire situation is a really, really long story.  That I wish I could tell you. In fact if it would help you or benefit you or someone you love I will gladly share our story.

Teasingly we've had all said we could right a screen play for a Lifetime movie.  Seriously there have been times it was exactly like a bad movie.  And, it is/was a serious situation.

And, we face the results tomorrow.  My 7 year old grandson will be having surgery to repair damage to his hip.   He has been in a wheel chair for the past 2 months while the doctors were consulting and making decisions about a course of action.  This will be the first of at least 2 maybe more surgeries.

The sad thing is.  It didn't have to happen.  My daughter beats herself up about the situation.  Even though she knows there was nothing she could do it's difficult to see him in pain.  It's difficult to tell him
he can't go to karate class anymore.  It's difficult to face surgery tomorrow.

And so I send her Have a Good Day greetings.

And because I am busy sometimes and can't post or just don't know what to write about  I leave you with a
Have a Good Day greeting. . .
*friendship kiss*

The Cat With ____ Lives

The Cat with 9  Lives ...

We've lost count on how many lives this cat has used up.  The saying goes 9 lives.  He's crept
past 9 by a long shot.

Rascal has quite a history.   He came to live with us as a kitten.  I searched and searched for a couple of
the earliest pics of him and couldn't find them.  When I stumble across them I'll have to add them for part two.

This is one of the earliest ones.  I guess he is probably about 2.  This shot was taken around Christmas.
He came to live with us at Christmas . . .

He immediately became best friends with Daisy.   He does three things all day.
Beg to be petted.  Nap.  Mess with Daisy.  And of course eat and the other thing!

Laying around with Daisy.    Odd huh?  They are in our game room through the tile is the living room and rest of the house.  The screen keeping them in is an old fireplace screen I think.  It is metal and has scroll work.  He could easily go through but he never did.  He stayed with Daisy.

I couldn't find the original photo but look in the upper right corner.  They are in the same room with out the fence.  Rascal is right beside Daisy!

A typical cat settling in for a nap.

He seems to love this leather furniture.  Anytime he can he is on it.  He's never been one to scratch furniture.
He's a smart cat.  He knows he would loose another of those lives if he did!

Look who's is next to him in all these shots.

His other favorite thing is to sleep on quilts in progress.  I use my bed to lay out quilts that I am working on.
Around her a quilt isn't a quilt until the cat has napped on it.

Sometimes my work has to stop to allow for a cat nap.  Other times I have to do the unthinkable and wake him up.

And then he attacks the quilt.

And acts all innocent.

His favorite person is our grandson.  They love each other.

The one time he doesn't take a nap is when Zane is around and not napping.

Rascal and Daisy both love it when the Christmas lights come out.  They are usually in the way during the decorating.  We were trying string lights on the stairs and he was all up in the middle.

He likes to give his opinion on fabric choices for quilts.

Napping under the table
.
A sleeping cat is almost as sweet as a sleeping baby.

Everyone loves Rascal.

He loves to snuggle in a blanket for a nice nap.

He is  even so thoughtful he tells me there is no need to make the bed.  He'll sleep in all day.

Rascal is a sweet and special cat.  Come back to read about his other lives and how he came to live with us.

Good Fences

I've never thought about it.  But I've always been intrigued with fences.  Since I found Tex and her wonderful fun party on Friday I have been keeping my eyes peeled for interesting fences.

My quest has taken me on a fun Journey.  Here's a few I found this week . . .

I've always been a fan of antiques and have kinda been drawn to architectural pieces like fences . . .
And these are blue.  I am in love.

Love these doors!  The Cowboy would kill me but I would so put in a fence like these if I had the
chance!   I love to recycle and reuse.

Apparently I am not the only one.  This shot was found on Bobvilla.com.
Another one from Bob's article . . .

Fabulous.  I could see a fence like this around a pool area.  Super cute!

So cute with the hanging baskets!  This one I found on Reclaimed Home.

Not exactly a fence.  More of a divider but cool anyway.  Found this on Remodelholic. Click Here
There is a whole article on repurposing windows.
Fence.
Oh my gosh.  How caaaaaaauteeeee is this?  Not sure where it originated I found it on pinterest.
Wish I could see more!

rainboot-garden-on-a-fence

Found on HomeDoIt.  Very fun post 25 Ideas for Decorating your Garden.  What a fabulous idea.
I wanna go thrift store and garage sale shopping!

Interesting idea.  This one is just a divider.

This one was interesting.  I've seen fences from bicycles before but they were all painted and shiney looking.  This one is interesting with the rust.  Not sure whats in those baskets.  It looks like weeds.  I could see filling them with pretty flowers.
And ending with one that is a little odd.  This ones for Sally.
