Outdoor Wednesday The Archive Edition

Sharing a few Outdoor shots from my archives.  Some of my
favorites!
My favorite subject . . .
Always ready to help his Pa . . .
Looks like Fall but it is actually just before the Christmas party at his school.

And a current shot.  I love to take photos of their backs.  Most of the time the don't cooperate!  They are always in a hurry to get where

This one is special to me . . .
This was taken just a few weeks before we had to move from this property.  It was a very sad time for us.  This was the last horse
property that we had.

From there we began the experience of apartment living.

The last few years have been the hardest for us.  Seeing this photo
now reminds me of what I was reminded then that God is Faithful
and that no matter what happens he is in control.

Fabulous Fall LInky Party--Party On

Welcome to the Party
                                  The garden gate is open!
Come on in! And share your Fabulous and beautiful Fall posts!

I've had such fun the past few weeks visiting all the amazing posts!
Each the party grows and grows as everyone winds down from the summer heat and the temps cooperate and start cooling a bit!

None of the above photos are mine.  They are from my archives that I have collected over the years.
Way before Pinterest and way before I knew how to save their original source/location.

Did you realize this is basically a simple no rules party.

No rules just a couple of suggestions.  It'd really be nice if you followed me. I am trying to figure how to make a button.  Anyone know how?

One more thing that I am adding just because I realized I needed to
actually say it.  Please be advised and agree to my using your post and or photos on a future post or on a google connect post to advertise the linky.  As always I will link back to you.  If your photo's are not watermarked I will be glad to do this for you before I repost on my blog.

Whew that was a lot for a no rules party.  Sorry.
Now on with the Fabulous Show.

Blue Laundry Room Makeover

Small space living requires some juggling . . .
Well if I looked this cute I'd leave things as they are.
But alas.  This isn't me and clutter and having my things stored away annoys me.

So I've had to figure out solutions.  It all started when I needed to put away the Red, White and Blue from Labor Day.

I found a home for the red candles and candlesticks, the white
candles and the pedestal (which I love BTW...never will it be stored away!)  But those Blue candlesticks and the fun glitter didn't have a home.

I debated about putting them in the cabinet with the dishes but.
Another idea came to mind.

I walked into my laundry room and here's part of what I found.

Can you say 'Ick'.  I am embarrassed to show you this.   I am not a fan of advertising for the products I buy.  Call me weird but.  I just don't like brands and labels staring me in the face.  I want to see something pretty.  So hence the use of the 6 pack holder for spray air freshner.  Which didn't make it back into the holder before this pic!  It also holds my kitchen trash bags, swifter sheets, and doggie bags.  (It doesn't look like this now but you'll have to wait for the how to post!)

I'd been kicking the idea around for awhile to do something with the 6 pack holder which I did but I am sharing on another post.  Sorry.  I didn't get the pics taken.

But I know your really wanting to see what I did with those gorgeous Blue Candle Sticks . . .
Here was my first attempt.  O.K. but still not pretty.

Then, I remembered some Patriotic Laterns that I used at school.  I brought them home and hung in the sewing room (they were cheap, cheap, cheap, and I knew wouldn't last if I flattened them.) and it all came together.
The basket on right was a dumpster find that was filled with candles. (I will post about that find on a Thrifty linky party soon) It is holding light bulbs and extension cords.  Behind the blue candlesticks is my party tea server.  To the left are the candles that Cowboy and I made for the Valentines Dinner for our daughter and grandson.  I'd love you to visit that post!  Click Here. Just behind standing against the wall are my favorite red enamel trays.  I just love them.  Of course you can see the glitter and my red stones.
And my detergent that matches the color scheme.  (I'll have to save it to pour the next one in. I wasn't too found of this brand)
My empty Blue launder basket.  Yea to the empty part.  Sitting on my Thrifty bought Maytag washer.  We paid $100.00 delivered for it!  The dryer was only $30.00 but I had to pick it up.  I was a little afraid but the Cowboy said it was a nice couple selling it.  And it was they were very nice!  God was with me!

I am very proud of the shelf and candle storage I think it makes the room look so much nicer but I think this is my favorite part.

Can you guess what is behind the curtain?  Here's a peek . . .
I thought this was genius.  I just used a shower curtain rod.  And a piece of fabric I had.  I to find something blue.  But this works for now.

Here's a better shot . . .

And, the litter and scoop are blue!
I played around a little with the pics on Picmonkey.  My favorite place to make collages and mosaics . . .

Laundry Room Makeover
And now I am not embarrassed that the laundry room is right off the kitchen and the door is usually always open.

I removed the background template.  It seemed my blog was taking a long time to load.  Can you tell a difference?  Please comment.

Tonight I am popping over to the Fabulous Fabby's lovely place.

Fabby was so Sweet to meet me at the door with a cool drink.
I mean it took more than a nano second to arrive in Eucador
at Fabby's door  . . .

I had to take a stop at this Fabulous Beach.  Fabby posted about it
here.
The beach was beautiful.  I wanted to stay . . .

But alas I was on my way to a Fabulous Sleepover at Fabby's.
I knew she would have a beautiful table set.    I wondered if
it would be something like  . . .

Set in the beautiful dining room.  I loved the beautiful Fathers
Day Buffet she shared at this post.

Look how she incorporated the funny little chickens in this formal space .  The flatware wrapped in simple red napkins with seashell
napkins.  How fun!

Of course since I am arriving so late maybe a simple supper in the kitchen it has such a breathtaking evening view.  And, just a beautiful place to relax with friends.  Such a beautiful post she shared here.

Of course after a quick late supper we'll sit around the beautiful
fireplace and chat on an on to the wee hours of the morning . . .
Here's where she posted about her beautiful mantle.

I can't wait to see the guest room.  I can only imagine how beautiful it is.

And then in the morning . . .

We'll enjoy the beautiful view again and the lovely Fall table
she has ready! Which BTW she linked over here.

What a lovely visit with Fabby!  Thank you for letting me 'pop in'!

Blue Wedding

Welcome to Blue Monday.  Today I am sharing some wedding
photos.  A couple of years ago The Cowboy and I had the joy of helping document the wedding of one of the staff at the prison where we have church services.  The Cowboy officiated and I got to be the photography.  I had a wonderful time!

I am by no means a professional but it was definitely fun.  And,
the colors were Blue and Silver . . .

First the caterer putting some finishing touches on the cake.  Which btw I didn't get to taste!
The party went on and on and we had church the next day!
I have to admit I was annoyed.  Seriously who goes to a wedding and doesn't stay for cake?

No Blue here but I think he is handsome so had to share this one!
Do you see the Blue here?  Check out those Cowboy Boots!
I left this one uncropped to show the area where the wedding was held.  It is actually a hallway.  Above is another hall you can see the railing.

The flowers are Blue and the guys shirts and ties are Blue . . .
I know the lighting is awful but the view was gorgeous.   This building is in the middle of downtown Dallas.

Tried and True--A Book Review

If your a follow you know what caught my eye
about this offer!

Tried & True by Mary Connealy is the first in the Wild at Heart
Series.  (I can't wait for rest of the series)

The story is about the Wilde sisters.   The back cover synopsis describes Kylie as the 'most civilized' of the sisters.  Although
Kylie goes along with the family's plans and hides herself behind a pair of jeans and cowboy hats and even homesteads her own property she longs to be back in civilization.

Kylies plans to return 'back East' are somewhat thwarted when
Aaron Masterson nosing around.  His role as local land agent is to investigates the homesteaders.  When he realizes Kylie isn't a man he is kind of caught between doing his job and well he does enjoy kissing Kylie. Which puts Aaron in a bit of a dilemma.

And of course there a bit suspense when someone tries to force Kylie off her land.

Tried & True is fast paced, a little steamy, a little suspenseful and filled with humor and sarcastic banter between Kylie and Aaron.
My thoughts:
  • I am interested in the next installment.
  • I caution this choice for younger readers.
  • I give this one 4 out of 5 stars (I personally am not a fan of historical books.)

Here are a few endorsements from the publishers website. . .

Another great laugh-out-loud historical romance with memorable characters who have charm, style, grace, and a bit of mischief.

Connealy's style is fast-paced and spritely and sure to keep drawing fans.
