Seeing all these patterns really makes me want to stitch up a dress.
But I wouldn't have anyplace to wear it.

Vintage Singer sewing machine postcard. My mom's machine, I learned to sew on! Auntie Dem

I used to sew all my daughters clothing till she went to a Christian school in 2nd grade.

That is when I took up quilting.  And I haven't stopped!

Yep there was a change way back then.

Cha Cha Cha Change . . ,

I know if your a regular following or even an occasional follower you see change here.

I am spending less time taking pics.  Lots of reason for there.

Spending more time on Pinterest.  Which brings me to the real post for today.    I hope you'll come back by and I hope you don't mind if you get my posts via email getting two today!  Just pretend it was one of those days I didn't post at all hehe!

Suspense. . . don't you love?  I love reading a good novel with suspense.  Nothing gory just a little intrique and a little romance thrown in!

Suspense.  I kinda like it.  So I am leaving you in suspense about Change . . .  Yep I am changing direction . . .

Even with all these changes of direction. I still know one thing for sure . . .

The Way - John 14

Do you know which direction your going?

Wednesday Filled With Words

Inspirational Images

I feel like I'm on a lonely road . . .

I think of the phrase God's not finished with me yet.

I am grateful . . .

I need a lot of work.

I think about the verse in Proverbs about the dripping water . . .

Is that me?

I have to answer Yes.   Sometimes.

I think about the verses that Paul wrote about wanting to do right but not.

And then I remember . . .

And that is the key.

Tips on Tuesday

Collecting ideas on Pinterest.  Love, love, love the chair.   I won't be using advertising feed sacks but different muslins and linens.
Sigh . . . Love the black and white photo wall too!

Very cool coffee table idea.  These are just those simple crates you can get at Michaels or Hobby Lobby.  Great for my new big patio!
Can't wait!

Not sure if I can talk the Cowboy into this but I am lovin that bling
in the tree!

So are you spending hours and hours on Pinterest looking for ideas?

5 Minute Friday--Listen

It's a hard topic for me to write about.

There are thoughts that come to mind.  You might be thinking . . .
I wish my children would listen!  Or maybe you smile because you remember yourself saying . . .  Will you listen to me? These are words I know I've spoken to children, teenagers and sadly to say now adults.  I remember the days when they were young elementary school and pre-school days.

My son was the hardest.  He was easily distracted and his mind was three, four, twenty thoughts ahead of where you were.  I remember saying Are you listening?  and then I would say What did I just say? and most times he got about 1/4 of it.  I learned with him I had to say what I wanted to express in as few words as possible.

So, why can't I do that with his dad?  I am a talker.  You can probably tell if your a visitor to this blog.  I write like I talk. A lot.
I write because I want someone to listen.

And I wonder . . . Did you listen? Do you hear what I am saying?

Tuesday Tidbits

                 I've been away.
at least in my dreams

 I've missed posting.

I missed Blue Monday yesterday and I had a really cool pic.

But I've been crazy busy with the Etsy shop.

I've been crazy busy finishing that grandson Camo quilt.

I've been talking to Cowboy about moving.  We'll we've been talking.
Actually really, really talking.  And that has been good.

We looked at two apartments on Sunday. The first as we stood waiting to look (4 couples ahead of us).  We looked around and decided we didn't fit in.  Suffice it to say we are grand parents.
We I don't wear a bikini.  Not that either of us had a problem with all the beautiful people but.  Well I suspect you get the picture.

Then we stopped at another place.  And it was perfect. Say jetted tub and I am hooked.

Except!  We would both have to work fulltime.  We left planning on going back.   But the more I thought about it.  The more I prayed.  I heard God speaking and telling me 'no'.  I realized that there was no way either one of us could pay that kind of rent on one salary.  In case something was to happen to either one of us.

Purple Sunset
And so last night as we watched the sun set we talked and talked.

We have plenty of time to decide. Our lease isn't up till the end of the year.  But we will need to make a decision by October.

So we're busy.  We're praying.

Praying Hands
We're seeking God's direction.

And we're waiting.

And I am working hard on quilts and the shop and I sometimes
I am sitting with  . . .

. . . these up taking a Dr. Pepper break.  Wanna join me?

May your day's tidbits filled with smiles

"C" is for . . . Guess What

This is a fun post for me.  Today is my grandson Charlie's birthday!

He really enjoys hunting with his dad . . .
Especially when he gets one of these!

My daughter is a great birthday party planner.  The theme this year is Camo  they have become fans of Duck Dynasty.

And so for his present from his Texas Grandma I made him a quilt.

Here it is complete.  I still have to remove the basting threads.  But it is ready to get into the mail for the party on the 17th.

So for us Duck Dynasty and turkey hunting fans "C" is for
Camo

Five Minute Friday--Imagine

I can only Imagine what it would be like.
So many ways to complete that phrase.
I Imagine one day when there is no pain.  When there are no tears.
I can only Imagine a day when I don't have to trust that my Lord is holding my tears.

These are the imaginations of what it would be like.

But till then I Imagine what it would be like to know what to do.
To know which step to take.  Too many questions and decisions are taking over my thoughts.

So many silent dreams.  Unspoken dreams that only he and I know about.  I Imagine what it will be like when he reveals to me.  Or I understand what he is revealing.  When I know which step to take.

I can only Imagine

My Saturday Was Sweet

A re-post to celebrate Serving . . .
It was a Sweet Saturday.  A celebration.  A Birthday we called it.
6 months in ministry.

Yes it was Sweet.  Today as I write it is Bitter Sweet.

Would you take a Sweet stroll down memory lane with me?

I first thought of this post because of all the Blue.  But, the more I looked at these pics.  They just said over and over Sweet.

Celebrating our Birthday.  The girls are wearing Prom Dresses that went into a closet for girls to borrow for Prom.  All dresses are brand new with tags.  We have a Dillards outlet in our town.

Volunteers and guests

The lovely Blue maiden was on staff.  She just got married.  The sweet girl in red was doing community service.  She completed her assignment and continued to come everyday.

A good shot of the cake.  It was Sweeeeeeet!  It's hard to see but it was a quilt.

6 months later.  Our first Christmas.   Setting up for our first Craft (Quilts) and Bake Sale.
Quilts are being hung.  The girls are decorating Christmas Cards to be mailed to supporters and donors.

This is what it was all about.  Girls learning to Reach for Integrity and Purpose.  Making quilts for charity.
More Blue

One of our projects.  We made 50 different Teddy Bear quilts for local girls in a New Mom Parenting class

And the Sweetest for last.   One of the most dedicated volunteers.  Her dedication to God and her
amazing ability to reach teenagers was a Blessing.

She made my days extra Sweet.

This post is dedicated to all the young women  and those that felt young!  Many lives were changed.

And it was sweet.

Bacon

B is for . . .

I had to share the video.  When I decided that Bacon was my B word I couldn't get the dogs
Bacon, Bacon, Bacon voice out of my head.

Here's a little of what my family does with this Beloved item! (notice another B word)
Photo: What do you get an 11-year-old boy for Valentine's Day? You make him a bouquet of bacon roses of course. I made him share...who needs a dozen thick cut slices of bacon for supper anyway?

The grandsons  Valentine.  The caption read 'What do you do for an 11 year old boy?  Bacon of course"

Cowboy decided that Bacon costs too much in the store.  And we love Bacon.  So . . .

We made our own.  He checked it out on the internet and got the instructions.  It is started with pork
belly.  Which is hard to find.  We have to go to a Mexican market.  But it turns out yummy.
A little time consuming.  You clean and put the 'rub' salt cure on and then it sits in the fridge for 7 days.
You have to turn it every day.
But it is worth it at the end you have Bacon!   Bacon Bacon Bacon

I think I'll go cook some Bacon!

May your day be filled with Bacon

Wednesday Filled With Words Slow Process

It's been a slow process . . .

Sunset

Sort of like as sun slow rises in the morning.
It's just slowly on it's on schedule moving
into the sky.  Then suddenly it's there!

I've been praying and praying.  I've been asking God questions.  I've been
pouring out my heart.  I've been seeking wisdom, and strength and courage.  I've
been listening and realizing he's at work.

But I still feel like I

Messed Up
I wonder.  I ask him questions about circumstances in my life.    I wait for his answers.
I try not to make decisions on my own.  I try to seek him.  That is hard.  I am a go girl.  I make things happen.  At least I used to.

Now it seems I am on this roller coaster going no where.  I am getting no where.

I was involved in ministry.  And now I'm not.

I have been trying so hard to find a job.  I've prayed about it.  I've cried about it.

There are times that God just seems so quiet.

I am searching answers and I feel alone.

Inspirational Images

I know he's there.  I know that even though I am on this long lonely road that he's there.
He's keeping me safe.  He's providing.

And there are times that all I can is trust and

Faith
have Faith.  And seek him.  And even though I cry out to him and it seems he's not there I know he is.
And I have to tell him I am sorry for doubting.

It's a slow process but I am trusting and I am waiting for an open door.

Trusting along the Journey
