Stand Firm Phil. 1:27 Scripture Sunday

The other day I was Blessed to see the beauty of God's creation.

I was thankful and it made me smile.

It made me realize that even though things were bleak (at the time)
I needed to trust.

I needed to be reminded . . .

Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel.
Philippians 1:27

I need to stand firm.  No matter what happens. No matter
how bleak it seems.

And so, I have faith.  I stand firm.

And I am Joyful . . .

May your day be filled with Joy

Daisy's Dog Awards Nominate your Dog Today

Daisy's Doggie Awards....visit and nominate your pooch for the March give a way . . .

We have this new routine Daisy and I
It starts the minute I open my eyes in the morning. How does she
know when my eyes are open? She puts her front paws on the bed and wags and wags and wags her tail.
Of course I am petting her the entire time and the more I pet the louder the tail thumping the wall gets!

Then when I am dressed I get a Dr. Pepper and the lap top and I sit on the couch and she waits till I pat the cushion beside me and then she very eloquently pounces onto the cushion and settles in and sighs.  Yes pounces she really makes a very funny production of it!

We look a little like this.  And then she helps me write my post.

Or on Saturdays I help her write her post . . .

5 Minute Friday Reflections on Mother

Joining the Friday regulars and writing for 5 minutes with only
a prompt.  No editing, no backtracking just writing.

Here goes. . .
Start What Mama Did . . . Mama  I don't ever remember I
time that I didn't call her Mother.  What mother did was love our daddy.  Mother went to work when I was in elementary.  I remember walking home from school alone (it was the 60's) and coming into an empty house.  But that empty house smelled like hot fresh popcorn.  We had a gas oven with a pilot light.  Mother always popped me (no microwave) popcorn and left it for me.
I don't remember if there was a Dr. Pepper waiting to but probably!
She also had the meat for our dinner staying warm in the oven.
I was cooking our dinner way before I was probably old enough.  At least getting the vegetable and a salad read and filling glasses with tea.  Milk was only served with cereal at breakfast.
Mother always seemed to have lunch ready on Sunday when we walked into the house.  It was usually pot roast.  But what I can't figure out is how she had fried chicken ready.  I think that one I must have fantazied.  I keep trying to remember to ask a sib about that. I was the youngest when Mother went to work my older sister was already in college and working and didn't spend much time at home but my older brother was still home he probably helped with meals until he started working.  But once they both were working it was just me and our Daddy for dinner.  Mother didn't drive and still doesn't.  (I sore subject with all of us.)  Mother also didn't ride on the freeway.   It wasn't until I started driving that she was forced to get on the freeway.  She learned that there was a big 'ole world out there full of stores and resturants.  And she decided she would enjoy it.  And now some many, many years later she even rides in a bus with a bunch of neighbors to WinStar.  Hello?  What is up with that Mother gambling?  She doesn't think it's gambling they give her $30.00 free money.  She plays the nickle slots!

Frugal Mantle Redo and Inspiration

Thursday with Katherine favorite Pinterest Pics . . .

It all started when I redid the mantle for The Romantic Valentine's Day Dinner plans.

Click Here to Read about The Story

Then last week after the big day I started taking everything down and started redoing the mantle.

I wasn't finished when The Cowboy came in and stated every so Cowboyishly . . . "It's Naked".

And so the Red Boa from said RVD got plunked back into the middle of the mantle.  With a gigle from me!

But!  I wasn't through!  I had some grand ideas.

I bet you want to see the mantle now.  HeHe sorry you have to wait to see some inspiration shots.  (is that underline still there?  I have no idea where it came from and I can't get rid of it!)

If you can't wait go ahead and go way to the end past these awesome and amazing much better than mine ever could be mantles . . .

This one intrigues me.  I love all the gold.  I have heard Gold is in this year.  Have you heard that.
I think this amazing mantle would be so easy pull off with a few changes . . . stay posted for my
Mantle Knock off coming soon!

And then there was this one.....I am not sure which one to do first!
Owls, Feather, Vintage Door

I love all the different size gilded frames.   And the so very cool door!  What a great idea to
lay it on it's side.  Although my space is actually tall enough to stand on it's end.  (which btw is a
bit of a challenge)   This one is a fall look and I love the feathers and books but I am thinking something woodsy looking for spring.  Maybe toss in some bird nests and eggs instead of the
owls.

Hmmm whoot knows?

And next I just had to share this because it is just so way cool.  I have no idea why I never thought of this!

I actually think both fans are amazing.  I so wish I had one in a room that I could do this with.
These are done with mod podge and fabric.  But I bet 'ole fashion wll no not 'ole fashion New fashion
duct tape would work too!

Speaking of duct tape.  I have a really cool project that I will reveal on Tuesday.  I know the suspense is killing you!    Sorry you'll have to wait.

But here's the mantle in all it's boa glory!

The mantle designed by a Cowboy.  Yeh Haw!

Wednesday Filled With Words

                               Inspirational Images
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens

Ecclesiasties 3:1

between waking and dreaming
I ponder this season that I am in.
The season beyond the diapers, the teenager years, the empty nest years.

And now . . .
This season is filled with more questions than answers.

musical offering
So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.
Colossians 3:12-14

And I ask for Grace.  I ask for wisdom.  I try to put on the garment he has for me.  I try to be compassionate and kind and all those things he asks of me.

And I seek Him so that I can
