Stay

Stay . . .
with me.  Sit. Stay.   I think of  Stay when we leave the house we always tell Daisy "Stay and be a good girl."  And she always is.

And I think of Staying safe in the protection of my Savior.  I don't need to worry.  .  . although I do. . . that he is there.  I Stay safe and protected by Christ.

And I hope that you are safe and protected.   I Stay here to share with you God's love.  God's mercy.  God's compassion.  God's healing.  God's Stayingness.  Yes God Stay's no matter what.  We can count on Him.  Because he Stay's.

And I can feel protected and safe.  I can feel his Love.  His strength.  And I can Be Still and Stay.

Welcome to a Beautiful and Wondreful Day filled with Thankfulness . . .
I hope during this holiday season that you are also Thankful for our wonderful God.   I wanted to share this lovely illustration that reminds us all of the many reasons and ways we can be Thankful.
I found this on Laurie Cole's website and if you don't know who Laurie is I invite you to visit her
at Priority Ministries.  She is an amazing woman of God devoted to sharing her faith.
I know you'll be Blessed.

Are you enjoying this beautiful Fall weather.  At least in Texas we are still having Fall.  And we love it and we are Thankful.

Winter may have already started where you are and if it has I pray you are having a lovely day.

Are you thriving?  I love the linky party over at Serving Joyfully.  Here's what Thriving Thursday is about . . .
Thriving Thursdays is a link up for family-friendly bloggers, who are choosing to THRIVE in their lives. It’s a place for us to encourage and inspire one another to live life to the fullest–in Jesus Christ. Link up your posts about thriving–in marriage, faith, parenting, homemaking, relationships, in the kitchen, in frugality.
Everything we do can be a ministry and worship to our Lord. Link up as many posts as you want, and I hope that you’ll take the time to visit some other participants as well.

And I hope that when you come here you are Blessed and Encouraged.    I hope that you are inspired and that something you read here helps you grow closer to Jesus Christ.

I realize that for me I can't really thrive when I am not reading my Bible.  Because our schedule is so crazy I don't have a certain time of day.  No I don't get up at 5:00 am and read and start my day in the word.  And maybe I would Thrive better if I did.

Yesterday I read a blog and the author was talking about the power being out.  She read her Bible curled up in bed using her cell phone as a light.  She read until the battery ran down on her phone!

Yesterday I bout a new Bible.  I needed a new Bible because mine was litterally falling apart.  It has been for a few years.  I have taped it and put a cover on but the last third of it over the last few weeks has just kept falling off the spine.  It was getting harder and harder to read because the pages would fall out.  Let me interject here lest you think I read my Bible a lot I believe it just was not put together very well.  I had bought a replacement a couple of years ago but I didn't really like it.  I hope that is not bad to say.  What I mean is it was bigger than the one I had before and the printing was different so the verses weren't in the same place on the page.  Have you ever had the happen?  You buy a new Bible or pick up a different version at church  and you can't find anything in it? Sounds silly doesn't it?  I mean it's not like they change the order or anything.   And, this Bible that I bought the pages were really thin.  When I would underline and highlight scripture the ink would bleed through.  I did not like that at all.  I write in my Bible.  I mean really write.  I underline scripture.  I reference scriptures to other scriptures.  I write Prayers.

So when I went Bible shopping I had criteria.  I really wanted the same Bible I had before The Woman's Devotional Bible.  Because I knew the paper was thick.  But also budget was an issue.  I really didn't want to spend more than $20.00.  I know that is not much to spend on something so important.  But I also knew that I had a source.   We have a Half Price Book store just down the road from us.

I found The Grandmothers Devotional Bible brand new for $14.99.  It is a hard back cover.  The last Bible I had was soft leather which I think added to why it didn't last a lifetime like I thought it would.  And maybe if I had put it in a cover or carrier sooner it would have lasted longer.

Now that I think of it that is another tip for you.  Don't be picky like me about finding a carrier that you like what it looks like.  Just get one and protect your lovely Bible.

Reading the word is how we truly thrive and if the word is spread out in pieces all over the floor you can't read it.  I think I have actually lost Titus somewhere.  I mean seriously how do you loose Titus?  Pretty hard to be a Titus woman when you can't even read the book!

I am Thankful for the Bible on-line. And for wonderful bloggers that share the word and thier heart.

I am Thankful today that I have a new Bible.  And I am asking my Savior to join me and teach me about Himself.  I know he'll be there I just have to take the first step.

Because without Christ I know that I can't Thrive.

Thriving on a Thankful Journey . . .

Wordfilled Wednesday Filled With Words

Welcome to Wordfilled Wednesday today I am sharing something I got in an email yesterday . . . .
What a wonderful illustration of God's faithfulness and reminder to us of all the reasons we can be Thankful in this holiday season.
I loved this little logo that was included.  It was received from Lori Cole the brains behind
Priority Ministries.  I had heard of Lori and her ministry a few years ago but lost contact.  Surprisingly a couple of weeks ago I started receiving emails from her and I am glad I did.

She has a wonderful Friday video Bible Study and I am really enjoying it.  I really want to encourage you to visit the website and sign up for her newsletter.  You will Be Blessed.
Here's what the Priority Ministries website says about their mission . . .
The primary purpose and mission of Priority Ministries is to encourage and equip women to give God priority. We do this, by His grace and goodness, in two primary ways:
  1. By producing and providing practical, biblical, female-friendly Bible Studies, and
  2. By teaching and proclaiming God’s Word at women’s events and conferences.
Jesus best described the heart of Priority’s mission in Matthew 6:33 and 22:37-38:
“Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness;
and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Matthew 6:33 NASB
“And [Jesus] said to him, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART,
AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’
This is the great and foremost commandment.” Matthew 22:37-38 NASB

Friends

Your are Special. Do you realize just how Special you are?

This post is all about Friends, Fun and  . . . A Secret . . . But let's talk about
Friends for a moment . . .

My daughter has some sweet friends.  These are just a few of her riding students.  They are gathered around Pal.  He was a great horse.  The reason we named him Pal was because he was just such a good Friend.  He loved everyone.  He never met a stranger.  He just wanted to be your Friend.   And he had lots and lots of people that loved him through the years.
This is a special Friend to our ministry.  On the left is B-Shoc he is amazing.  His heart for sharing the gospel through song and reaching kids and young adults is just hard to describe.  He is in Georgia.  We are in Texas.  He takes a special interest in us and the ministry and our kids. He sends video shout outs to us.  And he even makes videos with text of his music for us to use on Sunday morning.   He is pictured here with La Crae.

And I think this is us.  You and Me and all our other bloggy Friends.  My birthday is coming up and a dear Friend Denise's birthday is soon.  I think if we could all be together in the same town at the same time;  we would have a party and all wear denim and boots.  And we would be adorable.

But, since we can't then I am throwin' a party here on the blog.  And I am givin' the gifts.  The thing is I got distracted today and didn't get my pictures done.

I have a really, really good reason because Cowboy hung a light for me in my sewing area of the dining room.  And when the Cowboy does a honey do well everything stops to Praise and supervise.  LOL.  Don't tell him  I said that.

But seriously all that light hanging and organzing got me to doing some furniture moving and closet rearranging and took up my day.

So I am behind on this Party/Give a Way thing.  So here is the deal.  If you leave a comment today.
And say Hello Friend.  You'll be entered.  And believe me you'll love the fun stuff I am gathering to give a way.  And since it is a mystery at this point.  You get your name in twice for each comment until I get the photo's up.

So, 2 times today.  2 times tomorrow and so on until I get the pics done.  And just to let you know I probably won't get them up tomorrow because Cowboy is off.  So come on by and see my WFW and leave a comment!

And for a little more incentive because I really, really want you to get a chance if you'll send over one of your Friends and tell them to say _________sent me Hello Friend I'll put your name in again and your Friends too.

It's so simple.  No leaving a comment here.  And posting.  And another comment some place else.  Just come by and leave a comment here.  But please don't forget to say Hello Friend so I know you want to be entered.

So thank you for Being a Friend on the Journey . . .

And Good Luck!

When Your Family Is Scattered

Is your family scattered? The holidays are a hard time for many. Whether the family is scattered geographically. Or scattered emotionally.

Some people are sad and lonely during the holidays.  Some days I am.   Some days I have to lean on God and trust that he knows what he is doing.

And then I step back.  And I look around at everything he provides and I remember he loves me and that no matter what I can trust and depend on Him.

And then I can think about something else . . .
Opening the door and welcoming you inside. . . I forget
. . . our family is scattered.  I think of  . . .
The beauty of Fall and I want to share it with you.  And I want to share it with my loved ones even if they are many miles away.
And I think of ways to stay in touch and stay together even when many miles seperate.
I think of ways to stay together even the miles aren't so far.

And I ask God to give me hope and wisdom and give me creativity and ways to keep our family together.  And I lean on scripture.

By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge
it's rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.
Proverbs 24:34

I see our family as a house that God has built.  And I see everyone in it  my son, my DIL, my daughter, my grandkids (all3) and Cowboy as the rare treasures that he has placed in this house.

And I search for ways to keep our house strong.  To build it up.

Are you looking for ways to keep your family strong and secure?

Please come by tomorrow.  I'll be sharing a few of my ideas.  Please leave me a comment and give me your ideas to grow a strong family! Or write a post and share your link.

My Journey is Blessed . . . I pray yours is Blessed,

Blue Monday Wordless Weekend

My Monday is Blue today.  Is yours?  I am a little Blue because my weekend was wordless here.  But a lot went on.  If you wanna hang for a few after Blue Monday I'll be sharing it below.

Now for the Blue

I love these warm looking fuzzy Blue Slippers and I need them today because I left mine at my daughters!
I am thankful this is not the scene today.  It is a little chilly though I need those slippers!
Sharing a few Blue ribbons.  I saw a whole lot of this over the weekend.  I got to go to the World Paint Horse show.  We are lucky to live in Fort Worth which has a great Equestrian Center.  I could live in a barn.

And even though I am a little Blue today I am very . . .
 Thankful.

Why I am Blue and Why it was a Wordless Weekend . . .

I did go to the Paint show with my daughter, my grandson and one of her students and another instructor.  It was fun watching them explain things and show the student around.  It brought back lots of memories for us.

I took the computer to work in my spare time. (which there is never much when I have a sleepover)
But for some reason I couldn't get on the inter net so I wasn't able to post at all.  I did get all the pictures on my computer organzied.  Praise the Lord.  It was a major task and took me about 3 hours on Friday afternoon before my daughter got home from work.

But before that which is partly why I didn't get much done over the weekend I fell litterally flat on my face.  When I got to her house I got out of the car and was unloading the trunk and I tripped.  I landed not so gracefully on the concrete on my face.  I was a sight let me tell you.  I was bleeding from where I wasn't sure.  And I hurt all over!  And I still do.  Tylenol and Ibupropine are wonderful and my new best friends!   Actually all the blood came only from my lip.  Which is still swollen.  Thankfully my teeth were not damaged.  I was so afraid!  I have a scrape still on my nose.  And my upper lip is cut.  My knee is really damaged.  It is really sore but getting better.  I hurt just thinking about it!

Sunday we weren't able to have Chapel.  Our daughter and grandson were coming and I had to call them and tell them not to come.  We were set up and the boys were coming in and then one boy jumped another.  So there was a big ruckess! Thankfully it didn't turn into a riot.   We had to cancel church.  I felt so bad for all the other boys.  We suspect it was gang related but we are not sure.  It was a disappointment.  Please pray for the boys and our ministry!

The Biggest reason for My Blue Monday . . . after much deliberation with the family.  My daughter, Cowboy and my Mommy we've decided we are going to postpone the opening of the shop.  At least for now we will not be selling any of my Mommy's things.  I am still considering sellling somethings.  And I'll be posting about that soon.  But mommy is just not accepting the whole idea.  She keeps finding reasons not to.  The lastest is her health.  She went to the doctor Friday.  And actually got very good news but she says that she is declining and can't think about a new venture.  She is just not ready to stop going to Craft Sales.  There is much more to the story and if you don't mind I will be sharing it because I need your prayer!

And so that was my Wordless Weekend Report and Blue Monday how about something cheerful?

These always cheer me up . . .

Quiet

Quiet is the word today at 5 Minute Friday where we write for 5 minutes straight on a topic that Lisa Jo provides.

No hard thinking.  No grammar worries.  Actually really no worries just writing.   Set a timer
and write.

Quiet . . . start
Just over 4 years ago it was a different kind of quiet that our daughter prayed for.  The kind of quiet that you seek when the newborn is finally peacefully resting usually in his crank up swing.  Where were those things when she was an infant?  Quiet was what you wanted for the house.  But not too much quiet because then when the neighbor kids played outside or someone started mowing the grass the sound would break the quiet and all would be lost.
Now 4 years laught the quiet is continually broken with laughter and silliness.  The quiet is broken with questions.  A million.  One every 30 seconds it seems.  The only time once again there is true
Quiet is when he is asleep.  And bless his sweet little heart he still take a 2 hour nap.  He is a house a fire and he works hard at being a boy.  Quiet comes usually as soon as his head hits the pillow.  No scratch that it isn't Quiet...it is snoring.  His sweet snores and breathing breaks the Quiet and there is Peace all around.  And we are thankful.  We are grateful.
The Quiet is broken . . .

A few of my favorite photo's some Quiet some not so much . . .

Enjoy your day.  And please don't forget to leave a comment the not so Quiet one will draw this afternoon when he comes home from school.

Random Thankfulness/Give a Way

Don't forget the Give a Way . . .
I am giving a way this wallhanging.  It is hard to read but it says
Let Our Hearts Be Thankful. I know the winner will love it.  I will be drawing on Friday night.  There's still time to enter.

On with my Thankfulness . . .
I am thankful that my kitchen does not look like this.  There have been times that it has.  But today it is clean and I am enjoying it!
I said it was random.   I am thankful for my favorite Mexican resturant.  I love their chips!  The resturant is called Mexican Inn. I grew up going there.  My kids grew up going there.  And I suspect that I'll be there on Saturday with my daughter and grandson.  (more on that in a minute)
I am thankful I have gotten to sew this week.  This is the machine I am using now that was donated to our ministry.  I am very thankful for this machine!
Just a random photo I thought it was cool.  I am not a fan of pumpkin so can't really say I am Thankful for it but it is a really neat photo!
I am thankful for my sweet grandson.  He loves to help his mommy around the barn.
Just some more randomness.   A photo I saved for Blue Monday.  Come see me on Monday for more Blue photo's and my weekly Horse Mosaic.

And I am thankful that I am spending the night with my daughter and grandson on Friday night and we're going to a horse show on Saturday.  And if I am lucky there will be lots of horse photo's for my Monday Mosaic.

Linking today with Thriving on Thursday because sometimes the best way to really Thrive is to remember what your Thankful for even if it is random.
In case you've had a week that was less than Thankful or Thriving I hope my fun photo's cheer you up.
Have you been one of the lucky ones and had an amazing week?  Why not show a little Jesus and visit a few bloggy friends and give them some encouragement.

Thanks for visiting.  I am back to the sewing machine.   Don't forget to comment I want to pick your name!

Words on Wednesday

Wednesday . . . Wordfilled . . . Today . . .
I have tried all day . . .
I have just not been able . . .
To find the words.  They seem locked inside me . . .
And so I  need to . . .

You Bless me with your visits.  You Bless me with your encouragement.  I hope I Bless you.

Please forgive me for being quiet today . . .
