WFW Do not be conformed . . .

Today I am sharing a repost with you. I love the photo illustration of such a timely passage of scripture . . .
It is so easy to get caught up in the world and allow subtle things to cloud our judgement . . .

But Praise God that he has provided The Way.  Today I am thankful for God's assurance, his protection, his peace and his forgiveness when I get distracted.

As always here's the link to the Wordfilled  Wednesday linky go over and visit!

Transportation in Blue Monday Mosaic

Transporation is on our mind here.  Cowboy is trying to buy a car to replace his motorcycle that got stolen.  It has been a huge ordeal.  And caused us to be Blue. LOL.  It is hard finding the right kind of transportation.
Nope not takin' the chance on another bike even if it is Blue.  Well maybe if we had a Blue garage.

Or how about . . .
Well a really pretty Blue but since we don't live on the beach or a lake we'll have to pass . . .

Now here's an idea!

I think we're getting somewhere.  Together!

Well no maybe not!

More dangerous than a motorcycle!

Nope definately not because this is it . . .

Yep perfect!  Opp's there he goes! . . . Well since he's off I think I'll go over to Sally's for a few more Blues.  But before I go I thought I would leave my Monday Horse Mosaic.  Enjoy!

Thanks for beginnng your week with me.

May Your Journey Be Blessed . . .

Hear it on Sunday and . . .

    . . .  Use it on Monday

I saw this and thought it was a great topic of discussion so I got to thinking about what I and probably you hear on Sunday or whichever day it is that you worship. For many of the people I know and sometimes for myself we worship on Saturday. For us Saturday is a time we can worship as the worshipper. That is because on Sunday morning we my Cowboy and I take church to a group of teenager boys that are in prison. Ours is not the regular church 'crowd'. Ours are 15-18 year old boys searching. Many of them do not know what they are searching for. There are a few that don't come but; most of them do. They are seeking and so the sermons reach out to them.

Here' are a few slides and thoughts . . .
Have you ever felt this way?  Looking for a church where you belong.  As humans we are seeking human contact.  It just seems to be so difficult to walk into a new church.  You just seem to want to 'know' someone.  But as silly as we can be about that topic.  The fact is we really don't need to know someone we just need to "Know" The One . . .
This was a funny slide to use one week.   When Cowboy was speaking he paused to give them a chance to read the slide.  They firgured it out and started murmurring that it was spelled wrong.  But, that was the whole message.  Live in God . . .as a Christian, or a Christ Follower or as a Seeker, whatever you call yourself.  Wherever you are in your relationship with God it is about Living with Him now and for Eternity . . .
It's about learning to Fully Rely on God . . . I really can't take credit for this photo.  I saw this particular verse on a Wordfilled Wednesday Post by Mircles Can Happen.  If you have the time I would love for you to visit them.  They are a home for young boys that have been in jail it is is located in Iowa they have an amazing ministry.   When I say thier photo I knew the verse was perfect for this photo of one of my Drama Teams.  I so wish I could show the videos of them.  They do an amazing job sharing themselves and performing in church.

Todays message was a little different and caused many of the boys to really think . . .

Although it was for the boys where they are in life I think the message is clear and is one we need to all remember.  Sometimes there are warning signs we should avoid.  Sometimes even those that are Chrirstians will make decisions without talking to God about it.  Sometimes we make mistakes.  I have to say that is one of my biggest problems  thinking God has directed me one way and then realizing that maybe he wasn't when things have not turned out the way I expected.  I still struggle so much.  I realize that I need to be much better about actually really talking to God and listening.

I am trying.  I am trying to Pray more.  I am trying to listening more.

I pray that the words of warning I heard today will help me and the others that heard them to listen closer to God.  And, I pray that since you visited here today that something written here has helped you.

I pray that you will remember me and my Cowboy as we share Gods love and Hope.

And, I pray that you'll take a minute to remember a couple of prayer requests that the boys wrote today.  Sometimes their words, their thoughts and their hurts well I cannot describe how I feel.  Here's what they said . . .

"I want to ask 4 forgiveness.  I need you to help me.  help me to learn what my mission is.  Help me to change into the man I should be.  Help me to get my stage and maintan a positive attitude."
Last week this boy asked for forgiveness because he used a Ouqui Board.  We had been talking about the passage of scripture about not talking to dead people.

"Dear Heavenly Father,
Help Zane to get better and let me have a good birthday. Amen" Today is this boys birthday.  He and some of the other boys love our 4 year old grandson.  Zane was sick on Friday with a virus and had to go to the emergency room.  They made a card and we took to him after church.

"Pray for my Uncle that he grows a stronger relationship with Jesus Christ that he gives us spirtiual wisdom and insight to make it another day.  I pray for my little girl Carsyn and my brother." This young man was saved only a few Sundays ago.  He has been in and out of jail for a few years.  He told me very briefly last week that his Uncle got saved.  He was so happy and excited. He will be leaving and going to live with the uncle.

Thank you for stopping in and spending a few minutes.  Thank you for your prayers.

May your Journey be Blessed . . .

Then Sings My Soul/Ministry Update

Welcome to a beautiful Saturday!  I hope yours is as beautiful as mine is.  The weather is great and I am smiling and enjoying each new day.

Today I am joining Amy Wyatt for Then Sings my Soul Saturday.   am sharing  a song that we played last week at our chapel service.  And

And, a couple of prayer requests.  These touched me so much that I decided to share them with you.

This from a young man that got saved a few weeks ago. His words give me encouragement to know that this ministry makes a difference in many lives.
"Lord please go into these young men's lifes and touch them like you've touched me.  Show them the better way.  Please watch over my family because there going through tough times. Amen"

And from a boy who been struggling recently.  "God all i want to say is thank you for everything that is happening.  I'm getting my GED, my 3 and going home in December.  thank you God."  It was such a Blessing to talk to this young man about seeing the answers to his prayers.  He has been depressed and he was getting discouraged.

This one broke my heart . . . "This place ain't lettin me goin 2 church and it is makin me mad!  Do you think you can do something about that?  And help me get me 4 on the 24th.  I have been trying really hard and it ain't good enough.  And thanx for blessing me in my life and giving me my talent. " Another volunteer takes a few boys that are allowed to a church on Saturday night.  This boys is frustrated he hasn't been able to go.

And tomorrow I'll be Worshipping and Praising and watching the smiles on thier faces as they learn more and more about God.

Thank you for going with me On The Journey . . .

5 Minute Friday--Look

Joining 5 Minute Friday and writing without the hoopla . . .

Go . . .
Look . . . at all the posts linking at 5 Minute Friday but before you go here are a few of my thoughts...and a little prayer request.

Look; the first thing that came to my mind is my prayer that the Director and Board of a local non profit looks beyond my lack of college and my lack of retail experience and see my heart, my hopes my dreams for a job.  I pray that they . . .

. . . look at my true heart

. . . look at my non-profit experience

. . . look between the lines and the black and white of a resume

and see and look at . . . stop click here to go to 5 Minute Friday

Thankful Thursday

I am Thankful for just a few things. Well really a lot but here's a few photo's for today . . .
I love this new linky party started by Gypsy Mama.  It's a day that we write for 5 minutes straight about a topic she suggests.  No thinking. No grammar checks.  No shame just what stricks you about the topic.  Come by tomorrow for my post . . . you can join t.o click here to check it out
I am lovin' Pinterest.  Took forever to get invited but I am finding such cool ideas here for decorating, food, entertaining just all kinds of fun things.

And, I am very, very happy that first Zane got to enjoy Pal but that he was such a joy to so many.  I know I have posted about this before but last night Zane said . . . "Pal is with Jesus and when he gets better he'll come home."  What amazing sweetness.   He just knows that Jesus will make Pal better.
The faith of a child wish I had as much . . . .

And a little more light heartedness . . .

I am ohhhhhhhhhhh sooooo Thankful this is NOT my kitchen.  Because there was a time that it looked like this most evenings.  Yea!  The sink is clean and the dishwasher is going!

So that is my list in photo's today/tonight.  Do you have a Thankful list?

Enjoying the Journey . . .

Life with a Dog

Have you ever tried to take a photo of your dog wearing a sheet pretending to be a Ghost for Halloween? Almost as hard as taking a photo of  a toddler that seems to never stop moving!

Now don't get me wrong here,  I am not a big Halloween fan and that is a different post; but a couple of years ago I was taking photo's in the yard and just came up with the idea to illustrate this verse . . .

And she cooperated perfectly.

I had started taking the photo's to show off my late blooming zinnia's but I loved illustrating this great verse.

In case you haven't met her this is my dog Daisy.  She can be easily described as a velcro dog.  She is usually touching me.  No matter if I am sitting or walking she is normally against my leg or within touching distance; right now as I type she is lying next to my chair facing me and watching me as I type.

I have heard people say that when you rescue a dog from the pound that they are even more devoted.
And I think that I can agree with that thought process at least according to what Cowboy claims. He claims that when I am gone and he is home alone with Daisy that she just kind of mopes around the house waiting till I return.

I have always had a dog.  I love dogs.  We had a lab when our kids were growing up they were never without a dog.

But, when our son married they weren't able to have a dog.  Not only with deposits for dogs at apartments his wife was not interested in getting a dog.

It has been 12 years now since he has had a dog.  But, recently a dog wandered onto their property. It was a nice little dog and they let it hang around.  One day it chased a posseum away from the chicken house.  And it chased a fox away another day.  The dog managed to worm it's way into my DIL heart at least enough for her to allow it to stay on the porch.

Amazingly enough she mentioned the other day . . . "I haven't seen Thomas smile like this in years."  He loves the dog.  He is planning on taking her hurting.

Did you know that a dog can warm even a very cold heart?  Did you know how theraputic a dog can be.  Actually lots of animals are very therapuetic.  My daughter teachs a form of horse back riding at a school for Austic children.  The horses are used as therapy.

I am glad that I was Blessed with parents that allowed us to have dogs. (My mother does not like dogs)  I am Blessed to have always had a dog in my life.

I am wondering is your family considering a dog?  Do you have a child that is begging for a dog?

I know they are a lot of work.  And, that may be your fear in owning a dog.  But,  trust me the benefits really out weigh the negatives.

Just ask my friend Denise at Shorty Bear's Place.  Click here to visit her blog and meet her new best friend Coco.

Thanks for coming by and sharing your day with me.   I would love to meet you.  Leave me a comment!

The Sings My Soul Saturday Walk The Line

I am Welcoming myself back and you to . . . .
Then Sings My Soul Saturday hosted by the very sweet Amy Wyatt.
It has been too long since I have gotten to post on a Saturday and join Amy.   I have missed being able to visit and see new songs and to also share some I have found.

Today I want to start my return with something a little different.  I am starting today by sharing with you each week the favorite song from our Sunday service (from the week before).

In case your new or don't realize where I worship on Sunday morning let me explain a little before I share the video.  My husband is a volunteer chaplain at one of our states prison units for youth offenders.  Our congregation consists of 15-18 year old boys that committed felony offences.  We have been providing church service for almost 3 years now.

Alot of the music we share on Sunday is relevant to them but alot is the same music you probably hear in your service or on your local Christian station.

The following is a little different for you I am sure but please watch it all the way through.  It has a great message.  And, if you'll look really closely you'll find Bible verses hidden throughout the video.

Did you notice any verses hidden?  The boys really enjoyed this video because it meets them where they are.   We are glad to have been introduced to D-Earl and his work.  He has an amazing gift and he uses it to share the gospel.  I hope you enjoyed this introduction.

Please come back and visit.  I have a feeling what my song will be for next Saturday!

And, please visit me throughout the week.  Monday I'll be posting a Mosaic and a Blue post come and check them out.

May your Journey be filled with song . . .

5 Minute Friday The Race

  • Joining 5 minute Friday where we get to write for 5 minutes with no regrets.  No really thinking it through only taking the time to write about a specific topic
  •

  • So here goes 5 minutes of . . .

It wasn't a race I intended to join.   But like it or not I joined the 'Rat Race' this year.  After 28 years as a Stay at Home Mom and then another few years as a Stay Home Wife  (after the kids were gone) I began helping my husband in fulltime ministry.  And I was and am Blessed.

But this last year things have changed drastically and abruptly and I wasn't ready. I had to go to work full-time.  Not in ministry but a real honest to goodness 'rat race' job.  I have learned in a few short months it really is a 'rat race'  out there.

It's a race I have been I feel forced to join before I was ready and not for the reasons I would have chosen.

It is a very different race than when before my children were born.  I was young very, very young.  Now I feel very old.  At least I am wiser I can see things in the work force differently now and I can understand things now by looking at the whole picture which was something I didn't do as a 20 year old.

It's a race I have to force myself to join.  It's a race that I have to pray I win.  I have to ask God everyday to give me the strength I need to continue the race.

Today I am thankful for my eyes.  That I can see these stunning pumpkins.  I was afraid when I went back to work the first pay check would be spent on glasses.  But, although my lenses are scratched I can see the computer!  Yea . . .

Everyone needs a dog and a horse!  I am so thankful that God allowed us to have both for a lot of years.  Right now I am living through the amazing photo's that others are posting of their wonderful equine friends.  I am thankful for horse people who blog!

I am Thankful for peace.  I love the few moments I have to sit and be still and just be with God . . .
I am Thankful he loves me anyway. . .

So, what are you Thankful for your list might be a little different than mine but I sure hope that your just as Thankful for God's redemption as I am!    Leave me a comment and let me know!

    Being a Christian is like . . .

    . . . being a Pumpkin.

    God lifts you up . . .

Takes you in and washes you off . .

He opens you up and touches you deep inside and scoops out all the yucky stuff. . .

He then carves a new smiling face . . .

. . . and he puts His light inside you to shine for all the world to see.

Last fall my daughter hosted a pumpking carving party for some teenagers at a Children's Home where she was working.

Even though she was going through a very tough time she thought about these kids and provided an evening of fun.

She made little fabric pumpkins and included the above poem.

That is the kind of light that shines if we we let it.

What a great way to take the focus off the negative and turn it around to glorify God.
