Simple Mantel Redo-Preparing For Fall

Today is Thankful Thursday at a lot of blogs.

What are you Thankful for today?

I am Thankful for a day with no errands planned.  Even though I am super far behind posting today it has been a great day. So far!

So here is what I've been playing around with . . . 

As I've mentioned before the lighting in our Family room is horrible.  I can't take a picture of the mantle without glares.  

Do the little pops of color hide the glare a bit? 

A before photo of the candle sticks that are about to get a makeover.  The silver ones are the ones I got out of a dumpster when we lived in an apartment. 

I played with the photo a bit.  This is the original photo.  I wanted to share the before of the silver candle sticks.  I am planning on cleaning off the wax and painting them white.  For now.  LOL. 

I know I'll change them again when the  fancy strikes me. 

And here is the Simple New Mantle.  I just wanted super simple for awhile.  Because soon it will be all decorated for Fall!

 

I love the simple'ness' of the Mason Jar filled with Summer blooms.

Simply waiting for Fall.
