Show and Tell Friday

Welcome to Show and Tell Friday hosted by Kelli click on the button and go and visit her and all the other wonderful Show and Tells.
Today I am showing two things.

I was inspired today by some other Show and Tell post to show a tiny treasure.

Here is one of my tiny treasures. It is a little angel bunny that is meant to sit on a flower pot but I just think it is adorable on the pretty little night light. Which BTW I love too. This photo was taken in the old house. The light is still in the hall bathroom but the bunny is in the master this time. I'll show a photo soon I hope.

And next something a little different. Things are changing around here. This used to be in the kitchen
There is quite a bit of history following this desk. It is actually two pieces. A desk with a bookcase on top. The bookcase was originally in the house I grew up in. It sat in the living room behind the front door and originally was stained pine I think. It held my mother and dads treasured set of encyclopedias. Which BTW I used all growing up. My mother almost had heart failure when I threw them away. BTW she doesn't throw anything away.

The desk I acquired elsewhere and I'll share more about that later. This is the second Show and Tell installment of this desk. Check back next week to read the saga of the desk. I'll give you a hint. It isn't in the kitchen and it is getting a makeover.

I hope you have enjoyed a little peek into part of my tiny treasures and I hope that I have peeked your curiosity to come back and see the treasures that are here.

This is my new house! I just love it. I called it a cottage because it just looks like one. It is behind a white wood fence in the country. Come back and visit and hopefully soon I'll host a tour.

Have a wonderful Show and Tell Friday over at Kelli's

What is that saying?

What is it they say about this best laid plans?

Well I had a list of things I wanted to do today and guess what. I know you can already tell I didn't get to work on the blog. I did search for templates but couldn't find anything that I liked that was free and that I could figure out how to use. I have this category called Blogging for dummies. This post will go there.
I actually have learned alot and I am proud of myself but I am slow sometimes.
There are things I want to learn to do like:

. . . how do you post your text in color and different fonts? I know it is a simple thing but I just never have the time to play around and figure it out. Plus I don't read instructions well so the things that I have been able to do are big time cool to me.

. . . I want to add to my blog roll too. I did figure out how to do that but need to update it really bad because I have found some really cool blogs that I want to share.

. . . And, I really want to figure out how to link to another blog in my post. You know how you write "so and so did this go here to check it out." I just can't figure that out.

So as you see I didn't get the blog all madeover like I wanted.

I didn't make it to the sewing room like I wanted.

I did almost get the kitchen organized. I actually took one cabinet and just crammed stuff into just to get the boxes out of the middle of the floor. But at least the counter is cleaned off and the sink is clean.

I was reading a blog last night and it was talking about this blog that I have heard of that a bunch of people just rave about. I went over to check it out and was disappointed to see that you have to pay for all of her words of wisdom. It frustrated me. And so I have been thinking about that.

I know there must be other people out there like me that for whatever reason don't have extra bucks to spend on design and journals and household planners and stuff. So it makes me appreciate all the more blogs like Kelli's and Home Sanctuary. People that share their ideas and that give us wisdom and encouragement and wonderful decorating ideas.

So thank you guys for all the encouragement you give. And for all the others I'll be listing you soon because there are people like Amy and Randi that just encourage and inspire me.

So once I figure out how to do all that fancy stuff I'll let everyone know how to just pop on over right from the middle of my post. Until then check out my sidebar for the buttons and my short list.

Thanks dear friends for all your encouragement.

Blessings,
Sherry

Tackle it Tuesday

I have too many things on my list but here it is. Sorry no photo's still have that camera problem so please just visualize for me and cheer me on to get it all done.

. . . Finish my aprons for the swap

. . . Give my blog a makeover (did you notice it still says Spring!)

. . . Finish organizing my kitchen

I have a million other things to do but I know it will be a major quest to complete these tasks along with all the other regular daily things to do.

But these are the things I have already done this moring.

. . . Fed the horses

. . . Cleaned the pasture

. . . Re-painted one coat on two of the porch rockers

. . . Read my favorite blogs Kelli at theresnoplacelikehome.blogspot and my absolutely newest favorite Home Sanctuary. (sorry I haven't added her to my side bar but that is part of the makeover

Oh one more thing on my list of things to do today!

. . . Work on my Bible verse. Here it is

Psalm 36:5-7

Your love O Lord reaches to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the skys.
Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains,
your justicelike the great deep.
Oh Lord, you preserve both man and best.

Psalm 36:5-7

A Simple Woman's Day Book Monday

Good Monday morning. It is a beautiful day today. I went over to visit Kelli this morning and found she was doing the Simple Woman's Day Book. And, I thought it was so cool I decided to do it too.

Outside My Window...the grass is growing and the horses are grazing only a few feet from my window. Yea God!

I am thinking... I am enjoying this task and I hope that someone is blessed by my thoughts.

I am thankful for... I am so very thankful that the horses are a few feet from me and grazing, for my new house and for my kids and my Cowboy husband.

From the kitchen...No cooking today. I am still trying to get it organized so maybe I can take photo's and do Show and Tell Friday.

I am wearing...Barn jeans and boots just finished up outside but about to get a dressed up for an outing.

I am creating...I will be creating the aprons that I am behind on.

I am going... with my darling daughter (the sunshine of my life) for her 6 weeks checkup and I get to play with baby Zane

I am reading...all I am reading right now is my Bible because I am so behind and I know if I start any books I'll be too absorb. I do read to many blogs everyday.

I am hoping...that anyone that reads my blog is Blessed and is drawn near to God our father.

I am hearing...my husbands cowboy music in the background. He loves to listen to it each morning.
Around the house...boxes,chaos,disorganization (hopefully almost over)

One of my favorite things...s.itting in the cool of the evening and watching the animals.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week:unpack and relax

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

This is the Easter photo I took of my rabbit Rhett Butler. I wrote about him on Saturday and on Sunday. I was thinking and worrying about him and praying about his getting used to being outside. As I was reading my Bible the other day God lead me to these verses in Psalms. Please read my Saturday post and be Blessed by Third Days
music.

Psalms 36:5-7

Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens
your faithfulness to the sky's
Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains,
your justice like the great deep.
O Lord you preserve man and beast.

Psalms 36

Your love oh Lord reaches to the heavens
Your faithfulness stretches to the sky
Your rightousness is like a mighty mountain
Your justice flows like the oceans tide

And I will lift my voice to worship you my King
And I will find my strength in the shadow of your wing

I wrote about these lyrics found in Psalms 36 yesterday. Go to my post and hear Third Day praise God and worship through song.

God spoke to me this week through this passage. It reminded me of his faithfulness to provide for me, to shelter me and to just love me.

I have missed everyone the last couple of weeks during my in expected time away.

We are mostly moved into our new house which by the way I absolutely love. I can't find anything that I don't like. Although the kitchen needs some work I am looking forward to painting and making it mine.

I ended up having to take my mother out of town and then going back to get her.
We had two funerals in one week.

And the worst part of it all is it took an act of congress almost to get the cable and internet working. And it is still not right. The internet still comes and goes without warning. Which kept me from posting and answering emails. My inbox is full!So if you have written and I haven't answered. I will soon once I wade through it all.

I am behind on my apron swaps and I hope my two partners are not mad at me and the hostesses. Once I find the emails I'll get in touch with you guys. I will make it up to you. I promise. I did receive the cutest apron in the mail. It went to my mothers while she was away so I didn't get it till yesterday.

We are still having camera technical difficulties. We found the plug that plug into the computer but now I have misplaced the camera!

My daughter has taken photo's of the baby with the camera phone but we haven't downloaded them. Hopefully Monday I will remember to take the laptop over there and get them downloaded. He is 5 weeks old now and he recognizes me and he is beginning to smile. He was fussy the other day so I had to go over and help her. I sang Jesus Loves me to him and he just listened and settled down. He also liked This little light but I think he liked Jesus loves me better! Since I am mentioning them would you guys please pray for them. They are going through the struggles of dealing with a newborn and the drama of thinking of going back to work along with some issues concerning church and faith. Last fall they had a frustrating and unsettling experience with thier church. And that along with a couple of other personal things with my Son in love and a couple of different Christian mentors has caused him to have questions about corporate worship. I totally don't blame him. But it has put pressure on thier marriage. Plus they have the whole Catholic/Protestant issues going on. Although he is saved he is drawn to the Catholic style of worship. My daughter is not and in fact is very Contemporary. She loves Fellowship Church (who wouldn't)and he is ok with it but I think they would be happier if she would compromise. So I lift them up to our Lord. Please dear friends pray for them.

Thank you all for your wonderful posts and the words of encouragement. I am Blessed everyday by reading you all. And I have found some wonderful new friends. I am happy to be back and able to read your blogs and steal ideas from you. LOL.

I am also going to try and get back to my verse memory and I'll start this week with a verse from Psalms 36 because it spoke to me last week. Don't forget to read my Saturday post and go and check out the others at Then Sings my Soul.

Have a Blessed week. And btw if your reading and I owe you an apron. I am off to try and dig through the boxes to find the aprons I was working on for you. I promise it will be worth the wait. And also I'll do better next time. I won't be moving in the middle of the next swap. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Psalms 36:5-7
Your love oh Lord reaches to the heavens
Your faithfulness to the skies
Your righteousness is like the might mountains
your justice is like the great deep.
Oh Lord you preserve both man and beasts
Psalms 36:5-7

Thank you God for providing all my needs. Thank you father for listening to my prayers and for giving me peace when I need it. Thank you for your word and reminding me of your unfailing love and for giving us the gift of music to worship you with.

I am finally back and this morning I found the coolest thing over at
signsmiraclesand wonders.blogspot.com
Amy is hosting Then sings my soul Saturdays and I just had to do it. I really love to list to Christian music. Many of the songs like this one really speak to me.
I am excited to participate on Saturdays and share with everyone what is inspiring and speaking to me like this song did this week.

God spoke to me this week as I read Psalms 36 and this song came to mind. I am happy to be able to share it.

Over the last few weeks I have been having to lean on God to provide me strength, patience, wisdom and peace. As I have struggled through moving and dealing with all that incures I have worried and fretted over providing a safe home for the horses, donkeys, the cats and my rabbit.

When we learned that recently that we would have to move I knew that God had a plan for us and would provide. And at the 11th hour he did give us a house that more than met our needs. We were not sure that we would find a place that we could take all the animals. And while looking we began to realize that maybe it wasn't going to happen and that God had another plan for us.

I prayed and asked him for two things. I asked him to please either let me keep my animals of let me have a jetted bath tub. I know that sounds silly. But I did ask for those two things.

He answered my prayer and allowed me to keep them all. But I worried about them. We have had to put Rhett Butler (the rabitt) outside and it is really hot. I have had to adjust my schedule and how I feed everyone but. I have them all. I have worried and fretted over being able to feed them. It is getting more and more expensive.

A few days ago after restless night I read the following verse from Psalms 36.
"Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies,
Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice is like the great deep.
O Lord, you preserve both man and beast. How priceless is your unfailing love!"

That morning I thanked God for reminding me that he did work all things together for us. He provided us a home and he provided a place for all the animals. He is there for us even in the things we think my be small or insignificant.

Even through these things he shows us he loves us.

Blessed Day

I hope that everyone has a Blessed time today. I am still borrowing my daughters computer since ours won't be hooked up for a few days but I wanted to wish everyone a Blessed Day.

I have one thought to leave you all.

Anyone can be a father but it takes someone special to be a "Daddy". I pray that each of you out there have a husband that is a "Daddy" to your children. Many kids don't have one. I believe that "Special" that they have to have in thier lives is a relationship with God. Today I pray for all the fathers out there that need to find thier "Daddy" so that they can become a "Daddy".

Scroll all the way to the bottom for a wonderful illustration of our Heavenly Fathers love for us.

Blessings,
Sherry

Show and Tell Friday

This is my new house! Yea God. I think it is just adorable and I am calling it a cottage because it just looks like one to me. I have to be brief because we still don't have cable back at home and I am at my daughters using her computer and watching the baby. We won't get cable till we move because the problem is at the pole and they have to start all over. We elected not to have them spend the money because we are only going to be here till Monday! Yea.

Below is Kellis sweet Show and Tell photo. Please run over and visit her and all the Show and Tell's. I just love Fridays. If you haven't visited before it is worth the time. I have to run and rock the baby.

Oh I won't be able to check email for awhile so if you have emailed please bear with me till we get everything hooked back up again.
Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend.

Still and Patience

Tonight we still wait patiently. At least we try to be patient. We did sign a lease tonight just minutes ago. They say it is only a formality but I am still worried about the entire process. We get to take two horses, two donkeys, Daisy and the two cats. That means one horse has to find another home. I am tired, scared, frustrated, confused and anxious. As much as I want to trust and believe; the last two weeks have been so difficult that I am afraid to believe that it is really happening.

So tonight I thank Amy for this lovely reminder to be patient and wait.

Thank you Amy. Thank you God.

The Cottage "God's Will'

We found a house sort of. We are still waiting for final approval. I have had problems with the cable since Thurs. so I am making this fast.

But the bottom line is I love this little house. It looks like a cottage to me. Although it has 3 bedrooms, 1 living and kitchen I don't know if it technically is a cottage but that is what I will call it. It is behind a white fence and sits on 2 acreas. The owner has over 150 acreas and will let the horses on it.

The hold up is someone offered him a lot more money to land a helicopter on the property. No, I am not kidding.

We spoke with him again tonight and he said he talked to his wife and they are praying about it.

So all my friends out there I am asking you to join him in prayer and pray that God opens the doors.

This means we can take all our animals. And there are a couple of opportunities revolving around this property for our ministry. I'll share all that later.

But, don't you think this is just the cutest little house? Can you just imagine the flower beds?

I know I will be loosing my connection again shortly so I'll close for now.
Thanks for your prayers.
Hugs.
Sherry

Word Filled Wednesday

I think Amy must have been thinking of me when she chose this verse for today.

Thank you Amy for the reminder.

We are waiting (at least trying) patiently on the Lord. We are still looking for a house to rent.

Please friends pray for these two important needs:

. . . A house near our mothers

. . . Homes/families for 2 horses and 2 mini donkeys. They have been with us for over 15 years. It will be difficult to sell the horses because they are getting older but we really need some money for the move.

. . . Provision

Please visit Amy and the others participating in this wonderful Wordfilled Wednesday. Amy's link is on my sidebar.

Have a Blessed Day

Waiting and Trusting

We are back to looking again for a house. I know that God has a plan. Right now we are waiting on him and trusting. I know that all things do work together for good.
I also know that we need a hedge of protection around us and the ministry right now because everywhere we turn a door slams shut on us.

On some level I know that we are being tested. I am not sure why.

I am having diffculty this morning focusing because things with our mentee's in Houston are just absolutely crazing. I have been on the phone off and all day and night yesterday and now this morning. I cannot share all the details and even if I could it is so confusing that I don't know that I could write it all down.
I teasingly told M. that I need to write it all down and sell it to Lifetime or Hallmark or someplace. Jokingly we began to cast all the players.

I will end this somewhat weird post by saying that M. suggested that they cast Jennifer Lopez in my part. If I could really look like her. Wow.

Please pray for us.

Please pray for us

Another photo of an Iris. I finished digging them up and they are drying. I searched the net and got conflicting suggestions. So I am going to try a couple of different ways. Potting them up, storing in a box of sawdust shavings (easy to come by when you have horses.)and storing them in the fridge. I have enough to test out all these options. I also dug up wild violets today and put them in a pot. I still have canna's to put in pots.

Did I mention earlier today we found a house. The more I think about it the more I am falling in love with it. It is much smaller than what I have had but it is just really cute. And I really think we can decorate it so cool. I am just excited and looking forward to moving.

I wanted to post a picture and ask everyone to pray for us. Because basically we are waiting for them to approve us. Because we are full time in the ministry and we are supported and funded by donations we can't show any real income like a pay check. So they are checking all our references. I am just praying that God it really is God's will because I am just falling in love with this little house.

As I am packing I am running across things that I have had put away that I couldn't use or had a place to put. That sounds strange I know because we are down sizing but yet I plan to use things I have had put away.

Well for instance I have these really cool blue bottles. The new house has a window over the kitchen sink. Can you just picture blue bottles with a daisy in each lined up on the window sill? (the current house; the sink is in an island seperating the kitchen and eating area.)

I have loved this house but it is time to move on.

And flower beds let me talk about them. I have daffodil and tulip bulbs that I got free. The new house has the cutest little patio with a little "L" shaped brick flower box. It will just look so sweet next spring with the daffodils and tulips blooming!

And the front porch well it will definately hold two rockers and does not have a wall like the one I have now. Yea Lord!

I just cannot help but get excited. I am trusting that God directed us to this cute little house. I am praying that he will provide all the provision necessary for us to move.

I am also excited because it is so close to our mission location just 2-5 minutes so our life will change so much. And it is the same distance from both of our mothers.

I am so looking forward to moving and settling in and having people over for dinner.
Or girlfriends over for lunch.

We will know for sure tomorrow if we have been approved so please dear friends pray for us.

Starting tomorrow because I am busy with packing I am going to share some of my favorite blogs. I'll be posting pictures of porches and gardens. So please come by this week and check it all out.

Thanks so much for your prayers.

Hugs,
S.

Praising God Sunday

I have these in my yard. This morning I started digging them up to take to the new house. But I am not totally sure about storing them or replanting. I would definately welcome any suggestions from anyone. (I got this photo off dreamstime.com)

It was/is cool and breezy and a beautiful morning. I was thanking God as I was digging and thinking about his beautiful work. Isn't it just amazing all the beautiful flowers? I love flowers and gardens and I am looking forward to moving and having alot more time to dig and play in the dirt!

Psalms 63:3
Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.
I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.

Thank you God for showing us your love by giving us such lovely things as Iris's that make us happy.
