5 Minute Friday -- Home

Home
Some of these topics are harder than others.  Thinking about Home.  I know what  I want it to be.  And I know what it is.  It's changed a lot over the years.  It is now just The Cowboy and myself and the dog and the cat.  The house is small.  A mere one bedroom and living and dining (that is now a place where I sew).
It is almost the smallest place I have ever lived.  Almost.  Home has been a hotel room.  Home has been a one room apartment.  Home has been roach infested 1 bedroom apartment.  It is hard to call those places Home.  But some how you make it work.  I am grateful that Home has never been a car.  I am grateful that even though we had to pay late fees we paid the rent and for antoher month.  We have a Home.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday a little late

Having some computer problems but here's my
Red and Green
A Red  Guatamalan fabric I use on the ottoman
A dog in a Green leather chair where she is not supposed to be.
We have been finding her in the morning in the chair.
When I decided to use this shot for the hunt she wouldn't get in the chair.  I had to coax her!

February Finishes or Almost Finished

One of my goals for this year was to spend more time in my sewing area.  And I actually did.  But most of my time was spent organizing it and getting it functioning and looking decent.

But I did work on a few things this month. 

Other goals I have for the year are:
   

• Make at least one donation quilt a month
• Finish UFO's (unfinished projects)
• No buying fabric unless absolutely necessary
• Busting my stash

Left to Right Top
1. The hot dog and drink from my 4th of July quilt
2. The RSC  Purple was the prompt.  This will be a donation quilt
3. A UFO I added the borders and now it is ready to quilt and I found the backing and binding fabric
Left to Right Bottom
4. A labor of love Cathedral Window for my daughter maybe it'll get finished this year
5. The lemonade block (needs the lemons) from the 4th of July quilt
6.  My stash buster a 4th of July kind of a Jelly Roll quilt.  (my version)

I had a lot of fun piecing the purple quilt.  I want to do a little more on it but it is in the home stretch.  

I really enjoyed  joining the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.  

This month the challenge is orange.  I already have some fabric pulled and thinking about a pattern. 

March will be a busy month.  I am looking forward to it!

Start
I'm just an Ordinary girl.  Going through my old almost boring to some people Ordinary day.  But to me it is extra Ordinary.  I love my life.  God put a spirit in my soul to be just Ordinary me.   Just an Ordinary mom and wife.  An Ordinary keeper of the home.  But if I think about it there is
nothing Ordinary about being a keeper of the home.  Many years later after my kids have grown and started families of their own I look back and I see there is nothing Ordinary.  And so I give myself a title.  The title of CHO Chief Home Officer or Organizer depending on the situation.  Looking at that title there is nothing Ordinary about it.  I love my little ordinary days.  I love that I am able to stay at home and be a helpmate to my ordinary 'ole Cowboy Preacher.  Ordinary is good.  Ordinary one day becomes Extraordinary!  Just wait you'll see . . .
