Book Review Dug Down Deep by Joshua Harris

I just finished a great book by Joshua Harris. This book was one that took me awhile to read. It was very deep as the title discribes and not an easy book for me to read. However, the content was great. Mr Harris does an excellant job of sharing his stories and life experiences and explaining his personal thoughts about why he believes. Through explaining deep subjects like theology, doctrine and orthodoxy he shares with the reader God's plan for salvation through Jesus Christ. He shares how it is possible to believe; to be a Christian and feel empty. The back cover says this. . . "This book is the story of how I learned to dig into truth and build my life on a real knowledge of God. "
I would definately recommend reading this book. It is perfect for anyone interested in getting a deeper relationship with God. It is great for someone that is a seeker and has questions. It is great for the believer that has become confused by doctrine.
All of the points that Harris brings up is followed up clearly with scripture. In his chapter about the Holy Spirit he states "I longed to know that God was present that I was doing more than singing to the ceiling." Here's one scripture he uses concerning the Holy Spirit and his thoughts. . . Ephesians 5:18 tells us to "be filled with the Holy Spirit." "I see now that God was stirring in me a good desire to be filled. God was working in me, illuminating his Word and showing me my need for more of his work."
You can read more about this book at his website http://www.joshuaharris.com/ there is a link there so you can read a chapter.
