Sleepover Saturday--Featuring Debbie Dabble

I had this idea.  I have all these sweet bloggy friends that linked at The Fabulous Fall Linky party.  And I just love visiting them.  I thought that you might like to also.

So I decided to pack up a few things . . .

And take a drive along the coast.  And maybe stop over for a night or two.  Wanna come along?

Since this is a virtual sleepover.  You don't really have to pack.  You don't really have to even change clothes.  Just come along and meet some of my favorite friends.

Gotta run and get Daisy all packed and ready to go and visit our sweet friend Debbie . . .

We were greeted the moment we stepped onto the lovely front porch.  Which is what captured our attention for this visit.

I've been planning for weeks to visit Debbie.  I loved the post about these urns that the frugal Debbie got for 'free'!

Just look at the colors.  Fall has arrived!

We stepped inside and I was able to see the Fabulous Fall Tree!
Debbie Featured her Fabulous Tree here.

And look at the Fabulous Village she brought out for Fall.

Debbie takes Fabulous photo's for her posts!

This is the post that caught my eye on my first visit to Debbie's.
Look at the Fabulous Christmas Decorations!  Debbie loves Christmas as much as I do.  Click here to see this post.

It was so fun visiting.  I couldn't help but ask Debbie to show me her storage spaces!

But she only winked and said "Well that's another post."

And then, we settled down for a cup of tea and chatted the night away.

Saturday Critters

This is a re-post from 2012....
I was reminded of this post when I was telling a neighbor this story . . .

My Cat Was Cat Napped
This is a Thankful Thursday post because I am Thankful that our cat came home. For over three weeks he has been gone. I have been having a hard time with his disapperance. I felt guilty for not bringing him in on Saturday night when a storm was expected. He didn't come to the patio door like he usually does but we didn't think too much about it. When he didn't come around all day on Sunday or Monday we began to wonder if he had ended up in someone else's apartment. He is a very friendly cat and has neighbor friends that he visits. But no one had seen him. Everyone was beginning to think the worst. Cowboy had told me he was old and maybe he had just crawled off and died. This bothered me too that I would run across him somewhere when I was walking Daisy.
Our grandson loves him. And he loves our grandson.
I was cherishing these pics taken the last time Zane spent the day.  They were so funny supposed to be taking a nap .  He kept telling me 'We not tired Gigi."  I kept telling him He still needed to sleep.
He never did.  I gave up and so began the photo shoot.   The cat does look tired here.

I love the smile on Zane's face . . .

Here is Rascal home and well.

I guess your wondering why we think he was cat napped.

Yesterday morning I was on the patio working on some plants.  We have covered parking just outside our door but it has lattice on the back wall so you can see through.  As I was working I heard a car drive up.  There were no cars parked so I could see the car.  It stopped and a lady got out.

That's when I saw Rascal coming to the patio.  He was walking down the sidewalk.  I didn't think anything about the lady because I was so happy to see him.  He was cautiously approaching the patio.    And she was walking toward to the lattice.    When I said his name she stopped.  She had not seen me.  I began calling him and he came to me and the lady got back in her car and drove away.

When he came in the house he was cautious at first almost acted like he didn't recognize me.  But he went right to Daisy and rubbed against her.

At lunch when Cowboy came home he was pretty much back to normal.

Today he spent the afternoon sleeping on top of the quilt blocks I had on the bed.

I am happy that Rascal is home.

But I am sad that he was gone for so long and that someone kept him.

Today I am having to learn forgiveness.  It's a rough Journey.

Today 2 years later I am having a G'Day. My Saturday is Sweet!

Care

I needed a topic today.  Joining 5 Minute Friday for the perfect topic for how I am feeling.
Five Minute Friday hosted by Kate at Heading Home is a link with a topic.  The rule is you write for Five Minutes without thinking hard.  Just what pops into your mind.  No editing.  Just plan sharing what is on you mind or heart.

Care
Go . . .
I care.  I care about how you feel.  I care about how the people around feel and react to me.  I want you to feel that I care.  I want you to feel loved.  I want the people I see everyday to know that I care.
I want them to see Jesus through me.  I want you to see Jesus through me and know that he cares.  And I hope that you care.
I hope that the people that I see everyday 'care' about me and how I feel.  Because sometimes I just am not sure.  I care.  And I feel.

Stop

Sometimes I need you to care.

T is for Trail Class with Fences

Jenny over at Alphabet Thursday is featuring letter "T" this week.
Around here we think Trail . . .

. . . as in Trail Class.  My daughters favorite event . . .
This is a locket my daughter has saved from childhood.  The photo
on right is her first horse.  On the left is Buck the horse that she rode in competition.  One of her favorite horse show events is Trail Class.

Trail is a competitive class at horse shows where horses and riders in western-style attire and horse tack navigate a series of obstacles.
Prior to competition riders must memorize the pattern of obstacles which is posted outside the competition ring.  Many times in small low level shows the pattern is hand written by the judge.
Young riders get some last minute encouragement before entering the ring . . .

Contestants ride the course one at a time through a series of obstacles following the pattern posted.  The obstacles are things a horse and rider might encounter on the trail and/or real life situations on a ranch or farm.
A mailbox . . .
A gate.  This is a difficult maneuver.  The rider must ride to the gate turn the horse and then have the horse move sideways while the gate is pushed open.  Then the horse has to turn and pass through.  The rider cannot let go of the gate during the maneuver.
This is a rider opening a rope gate.  There are many different ways to set this obstacle up.
Another obstacle is the bridge.  Usually a small wooden structure.
The horse must walk completely over the bridge without stepping off.
A typically difficult maneuver is the box.  The rider must have the horse turn 360 degrees without stepping out of the box.  In this photo you can  see the judges.
There are many different level horse shows.  There are shows for beginners to high level competitors.  The above photo shows riders at a therapeutic riding school.
At the end of the event the riders line up and wait for the results.
Each rider is hoping their name is called to receive a Blue ribbon.
Proudly displaying the days success.

All unmarked photos were found on google.

Wednesday Filled With Words

Wednesday Filled With Words
Wednesdays the day I've been setting aside to write.  Most of my posts are about homemaking, cooking, book reviews, or photo's.

On Wednesday I've either been posting illustrated scripture . . .

Or writing a post about something I've been thinking about.

The other day a topic that Lisa Jo suggested hit me close to home.   The topic was "Close".
I thought about what I would say if someone said.  Who are your close friends.
It makes me sad to say but I don't have any close friends.  There are people I know at work.  But I wouldn't really consider them my friends.  They don't even have my phone number.

I got to thinking about that word and what it means to me in respect to my blog.   I started My Journey Back at a time that I was
really lonely.  I've used this photo for my header and in my posts a lot.  It represents how I feel a lot.

It's not what I want but it is what it is.  I don't have a closeness with
anyone.  No girlfriends to call up and meet for lunch.
I hope when i reach their age, i have good friends still around to enjoy moments like these ;-)
That's why my blog is important to me.  Meeting people through my blog gives me a chance to find new friends.

Hahaha, me on the scale. Zesipho with the advice.
Sometimes I need a shoulder to cry on.

Sometimes I just need a sounding board.

Sometimes I need someone to ask 'How was your day.'

I've been thinking about this post and how to write it for awhile.

How to share my heart without being whiney and at the same time express how I feel.

My blog is important to me.  .
The sweet friends that visit and leave a comment brighten my day.

My visitors.  My followers.  You are my Close.
