Book Spotlight Shielding Her son

 About the book

She thought she’d escaped her past…

Has it caught up with her?

Erika Powell has lived in hiding for years to protect her son from his wealthy, tyrannical grandfather. Wary of strangers, she’s suspicious of James West, who’s renting a neighboring cabin, despite their sizzling chemistry. But when attempts are made on Erika’s life, James fears he may have endangered her—because the undercover PI’s investigation of Erika may have led someone dangerous right to her.

Happy Homemaker in Texas

Joining Sandra for her party.  The link is below . . .

The Weather not as hot the last few days.  And we are getting a few rain showers over night!  As I look out my window I am sitting this morning facing our large living room window.  It is up about 4 foot so not easy to see out while sitting.  My view right now is my plant shelf . . .  Right now I am hoping I can get to Home Depot and Big Lots for plants and pots for 'said shelf' mentioned above . . . Thinking and Pondering and Praying I am grateful and thankful to the Lord that my daughter is communicating with me.  She sends me updates on her gardens.  I am proud of her. . . How I am feeling good no sinus headache this morning but I feel sad that the Cowboy is still not well.  He is depressed and has no focus.  Our family doesn't check on him or call him.  I/we ignore it.  But I think that is part of his issue.  He sleeps most of the day.  And binges on Cookies and sweets he insists on buying. On the breakfast plate . . . Nothing yet today.  Well before I finished he got up and asked for Toast.  I gave him 1Peanut Butter and 2 Jelly. Maybe Eggs and Hash.   I will suggest.  He will probably ask for  Toast and Jelly  On the dinner plate tonight I am planning on Hamburger Helper Beef Stroganoff.  Here's what we had the other day

What I am wearing I think the same top as last week!  Turquoise tank with lace and my black shorts. On my reading pile

On the Cowboys tv
easier just to let him watch Poker, Garage Shows, Johnny Carson  you know guy stuff. I have books I need to read!   . . . On the menu he is showing some interest.  Menu this week based on things he bought at grocery store

Monday Hamburger Helper Beef Stroganoff and Green Beans (my choice) Tuesday Tacos Wednesday Chicken Alfredo Thursday Pork and Stove Top Friday Steak and Baked Potatoes

Looking around the house Dogs are shedding everywhere! To Do List brush dogs, sweep vacuum (this happens daily) Clean refrigerator and stove, was dishes.  Go to Dollar Tree, Book Store and Post Office From the camera

Happy Homemaker in Texas

Here are Sandra's prompts . . .

The Weather we have been getting quick showers during the day.  Cooling it down to lower 90's or upper 80's.  These temps are liveable. Especially if there is no a breeze.  As I look out my window the grass is green again and growing.  So pretty.  LOL.  I don't have to mow!  Right now I am thinking about the fabulous day we had on Saturday.  Thinking and Pondering an author friend came to town on Saturday.  It was so fun to get out and just be with people.  Fun to have someone to talk to! How I am feeling I am always happy.  But today I am super happy.  Yesterday revitalized me. On the breakfast plate French Toast.  I have Powdered Sugar on mine.  The Cowboy slathers Syrup on his.

On the lunch plate  most days we tend to have a late breakfast so no lunch.  I like to have a filling lunch   leftovers or Tuna Casserole is a favorite of mine.  I do alot of cleaning vacuuming, moping daily and walking dogs several times.  I feel better when I eat a decent lunch On the dinner plate

We got Steaks on sale  the Cowboy wanted Corn and Potatoes.  We got 2 meals out of this hunk of meat!  What I am Wearing right now a worn out tank top and shorts and no shoes
 I am reading

just finished these two.  On the pile

On the TV this week America's
Test Kitchen, Something on Magnolia or Food Channel  if I get the remote.  The Cowboy has been watching Poker, Salvage Shows and movies On the menu really not planning menus now.  On the rollar coaster again.   I have Shrimp, Chuck Roast, Pork Tenderloin and Chicken Wings in freezer.  Looking around the house
and thinking about Christmas.  We will have to buy a tree.  I think it will go in the corner of the living room.  I am thinking of putting my collection of Santa's on the tree.
It will be a challenge but I don't  really have anyplace I can display them.
To Do List I want to go to the Strand and look for shops for author book signings. Go to post office, it's payday week so groceries and hopefully Home Depot for a couple plants and pots.  I think my plants I bought in Spring are out growing their homes  From the camera We went for Do Nuts the other day.  The girls are patiently waiting for thiers.

Foodie Friday Welcome Back

Hello.  I am Happy to be back.  I had a few posts planned but things went away.

I was fighting a cold for a couple weeks along with my regular duties.

Hopefully I am well and caught up.

Here's a few things I cooked  this week . . .

One of our favorite meals.  Chili Rellenos served with queso and Frito's and Salad
Pork Chops over Noodles and Mushrooms and Spinach Salad
They had Oysters at the store. . .
I told the Cowboy he could get a job shucking Oysters . . .
He said 'Nah.  I am too slow' . . .
Crab Legs and Potatoes followed the Oysters.  I also had Fresh Mustard Greens.  These were the best Crab Legs!
Sausage Gravy and canned Biscuits.  Just o.k.  I didn't brown my flour good.  The Biscuits were blah.
He woke up and suggested going out.  (I should do blah Biscuits more often)
He likes Chicken Fried Steak at this Breakfast place.  It is always good
A good price but drinks cist too much.  Water next time!
And at home French Toast and Bacon .

Air Fryer Chicken Wings, Spinach Salad and my Frito's and Spinach dip.

I haven't really planned meals for a few weeks but everything seems to turn out o.k!

I am hoping to be back to normal now!

See you soon!
