Happy Homemaker In Texas

The weather . . .

Gorgeous Fall weather. Upper 70's.  Lot's sunny skies!

Outside my window . . .

Sunny skies. Dogs playing in the yard.  Happy gardens.  And on my window . . .

I really dislike these tree lizards!  But I know they eat bugs.

On the breakfast plate . . .

The Cowboy microwaved a safe and a tortilla.  Errands in a bit so no real breakfast plate today.

What I am wearing . . .

The pants I garden in.  It is warm enough for shorts but I will be mowing some leaves in a bit.

Something fun to share . . .

Looking for Louisiana bloggers to guest post in December.  I will be featuring a Cozy Mystery set in Louisiana.  Send me an email slegan@yahoo.com if you live/blog about Louisiana.

In the studio . . .

I have finished two crochet dishcloths from two different patterns.

Still searching for a pattern.

Almost finished with a flannel rag quilt for the coach for the Cowboy.

Long enough to cover him nicely I think.  Just need to fringe the edge.  But he can start using it.😁❤️

And I dyed some papers for the Journals I am making for Christmas presents.

These are ready to iron so they will flatten and smooth out.

On the menu . . .

I am feeling in that proverbial rut again.  Need some ideas!

Monday

Mexican Style Pot Roast, Ranch Style Beans, Spanish Rice & Tortilla's

Tuesday

Pulled Pork topped Baked Potatoes, Salad, Cheddar  Bacon Biscuits

Wednesday

White Chicken Chili & Corn Bread

Thursday

Chicken Fried Steak, Mashed Potatoes, Corn

Friday

Coconut Shrimp, French Fries, Cole Slaw

I was able to talk over the menu with Cowboy he made a couple suggestions.

On the To Do List . . .

Vacuum and mop.

Buy some Cauliflower plants.

Clean the laundry room.

Make a "Party Link" for the blog.

My Ta Da' moment . . .

I did finished the couch quilt for the Cowboy.  'Ta Da'!

I just finished reading . . .

I enjoyed this one. A Sweet Clean Romance.  New author to me.  I enjoyed meeting and chatting and planning my Main Character Monday post.

From the camera . . .

Praying for . . .

Our country.

Scripture/Devo . . .

  1. What a cute picture! I love the quilt - looks so comfortable to curl up with. I've tried several dishcloth patterns, but keep going back to the one with the more solid pattern as it actually works best. I hope you have a GREAT week.

  3. Love your doggy, looks so much like my Marley :)

Your menu sounds really yummy for this week, especially that Coconut Shrimp, my fave.

Hope you have a blessed week!

  4. I have been feeling pretty unmotivated to cook dinner lately; I too feel stuck for ideas. I mean I have lots of ideas but I try to make sure at least 3 of the 5 people in the house will eat it!

  5. That lizard looks a bit larger than the ones I'm used to. I like watching the small ones run around the kitchen window eating bugs though.

I love your dish clothes. I always get so bored making them, I'm weird I know so have to get others to do it, like my mom. We trade I make other things for her and she makes my dishcloths and towels.

White chicken chili sounds good. I wasn't sure what we were doing this week but I may have to add that to the list. It's one of our go-to favorites.

Hope you have a blessed week.

  7. We don't have lizards here but saw the tree lizards in Florida, they were cute. Wish my husband would give me ideas about supper... sometimes I just don't know anymore!
    Have a great week
