Eden The Animals' Parable-Keith Korman-Book Review

Eden

About the book (provided by Litfuse)
“Ask the animals, and they will teach you.” —Job 12:7
Experience the Gospels in a way that you never imagined.
In this beautifully inspired retelling of the Gospels, we see Jesus and his disciples in the Holy Land through the eyes of the animals—especially his intrepid and loyal dog, Eden.
With a wise, old donkey, innocent lambs, and legions of curious field mice—the animals follow their master’s journey across Galilee and onto Jerusalem, rapt with awe and wonder and bearing great tidings—even if they don’t fully comprehend the divine events they witness.
Simple, clear, and spiritually profound, Eden is for readers of all ages, this artful retelling is captivating, moving, and alive with the joy you felt the first time you opened the Bible.

And I thought ...
A very creative and interesting fictional read.  As an animal lover I was fascinated with the animals' perspective.  The story is told by Eden Jesus dog. Amazing.  It made me realize that of course the boy Jesus probably had a dog.  The tale is imaginative and makes the reader think.  and
It was interesting and might cause a reader to want to read the gospels. I hope that anyone who hasn't is drawn to read the actual
'real' and 'true' account.
Since this is a book of fiction there are imagined dialogue and does stray from the actual true events.
I enjoyed the story but I can't help be cautious about suggesting it
or recommending it to non-believers.  My concern is it might just cause enjoy caution from someone searching to be confused.

With that said how do I rate this book.  I might have a better feeling if there had been an author's note explaining to the reader that the events are fictional and that in some instances the story strays away from the actual Biblical accounts.  A suggestion to the reader to read the Gospels would have added much to the book.

This is not a book for a young reader.  Although reading as a family unit it could be a great read allowing parents for deeper discussions.

This review will appear on Amazon and Good Reads and
My Reading Journeys.
