Welcome to Show and Tell Friday.
Kelli and I must have been thinking the same thing today. Because we are showing the same treasures. Although her photo's and display are much prettier than mine I hope you'll enjoy seeing my collection. I am fascinated with the handwork done in these.
And I wonder about the person that made them. All three were donated to our ministry for a craft sale. I couldn't bear to let them go.
I know the photo isn't great on this one because I had to scan it but I think you can see how pretty it is anyway.
This one is just as pretty I think. It is a very vivid blue and the thread was really thin. It is really fragile.
I just love this butterfuly. It came to us mounted on a piece of foam board. I just love it. I haven't been able to figure out exactly what to do with it. It just sits on an easel in my sewing room. I just think it is pretty; it makes me smile.

Those are gorgeous! It makes me wonder anytime I see something like that for sale or donated. It's the same thing with old photos, it makes me sad that no one wanted them to keep them in the family! Yours however, are in good hands!
ReplyDeleteSorry I didn't comment more after your last visit to my blog. I am in wedding countdown (AKA STRESS!) You mentioned you weren't far from Argyle, TX and were shopping around for a church. If you visit our church's website (the link is on my "daily house calls", Cross Timbers Church, it shows its location as well as the 2 other campuses, one in Keller and the Denton Campus where we go. It also will tell you more about the church etc.

My mom makes these pansy pieces. These are the same colors she usually makes them in. On a rare occasion, she will make each flower a different color. Then she likes to stack 2 pansy pieces together, fold them in half, then quarters (all the flowers would be at the top, the rest looks like a cone), then she wraps them in tinfoil or tissue paper and they look like a fresh picked bouquet :). She enjoys making them and giving them away. What state are you in? My mom lives in Florida and some of her pieces went in an estate sale after my dad died. She is 84 now and crocheting every day.
