Welcome that Rustic Dinner got a work out this week.
And as if I wasn't in the kitchen enough already Author Melissa Bourbon shared a cookie recipe I can't wait try!
Here's what I cooked . . .
Ginger cookies are my absolute favorite! This recipe is my grandmother’s. We make them every fall (many times) and enjoy every last crumb.
Ingredients
3/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
2 1/4 flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp salt
Sugar to roll the cookies in
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
1. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and molasses.
2. In a separate bowl, combine dry ingredients.
3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter/sugar mixture. Combine well.
4. Roll dough into 3 inch balls. Roll in sugar to coat and place on uncreased cookie/baking sheet.
5. Bake until cookies puff up slightly and are lightly browned, approximately 10-12 minutes.
