Mantle From The Cutting Garden

Welcome to the blog today I'm sharing my last summer mantel I decorated with flowers from my cutting garden

Before putting the blooms in the house I prepared them in the
greenhouse and then played with a photo editor.

The Cutting Garden is not large in fact it's only maybe 3 foot square a little rectangle corner of the larger Garden but the Zinnia's love the summer sun and produced gorgeous multi-color blooms
I enjoy carrying my basket out and collecting pretty blooms.
Cutting the blooms encourages the flowers to continue to bloom later at the end of September I'll leave the blooms and let them fade so that I can collect some seeds for next year

I collected bottles and vases to fill with the blooms.
I collected a basket full and took them into the greenhouse after stripping all the leaves so that the stems could dip down to the water for a little to keep them pretty for as long as I could
Bottles and vases filled.  Leaves collected and ready for the compost.
A lovely display

I collected my jars and vases
I love the flowers in the vases and jars sitting on the ottoman in the greenhouse I think they're pretty with the little vintage dish towel that I covered the ottoman with that my plan is to put them on the mantle
Actually think that they're prettier outside but the mantle needs but I wanted to enjoy them in the house to bring some color into this dark room.
It is a pretty display.  The pictures don't show just how pretty.
This room is so dark it is hard to take good photo's.

Here's a pretty bouquet for you.
I hope you've enjoyed your visit!
I hope I've inspired you to cook something Yummy!
