Things To Do On Saturday-Making Quilts For Houston

Today I am getting together with friends to begin making quilts for Houston.  

My intention was to share the project with you and include some 

photo's of the devastation and then I saw this . . .

I called a few friends. One offered her sewing room.  I have gathered fabric from my over flowing stash and I am ready to get started.  

I suggested this fun quilt because it is just that fun.  But it is also super fast!

The name of the video is Jelly Roll Race.  From Missouri 
Quilt Store.  It was from 5 years ago.  There are a lot of videos from through the last few years.

This is the original pattern video I saw a few years ago and began making these super fast quits.

I have been  adapting the process a little and I don't use jelly rolls.

My personal goal was to use what I had. 

For this project I am using more of my personal stash.  It is less 

expensive to buy yardage than the jelly rolls but the purpose of jelly rolls is to get a lot of different fabrics.  

I am hoping to spend the next few Saturdays working on these quilts.  And sending them to some people that need them!
