Show and Tell Friday
Welcome to Show and Tell hosted by the amazing Kelli her link is over on my sidebar go and visit her. I just love her Show and Tell today and don't forget to visit all our friends to.
Today I am going to show you some of my favorite photo's of my home. This will probably be my last Show and Tell before I move. So I thought it fitting.
This is my fireplace in the living room. It is my favorite part of the room. One of the favorite parts of it is the white iron screen in front of the ugly glass screen.
I move the iron one around and use as a gate for Daisy too. I have been in the house for 4 years and although I love the house this room was the hardest to decorate. The layout was difficult with the fireplace on one wall and a sliding glass door next to it. There are 4 doors in the room which means there is very little wall space.
This is one of my favorite chairs. And my "Kitty's" favorite too. I have a hard time taking pictures of her. She runs everytime I get the camera out. I love this chair. This photo was taken shortly after Christmas you can see a popcorn tin on the table. I have rearranged the room since then and moved the end table to the other side of the couch.
And lastly one of my favorite pieces of furniture. I bought this unit at my favorite little antique shop in North Richland Hills it is called Golightly's Gallery and has the neatest finds like this one. (I also bought the screen there too) Actually it is two pieces that someone painted the same and put together. I just love it. I originally bought it for my sewing room because it has that narrow shelf and I thought it would hold bolts of fabric and books. But it just fit into the den so that is where it is now.
I moved it in January and put it where the end table was in the above photo so it is kind of behind my chair now. You can see the horse/cowboy books but the bottom shelf holds my Bibles and my journals. So I can sit in the chair (if Kitty isn't) or on the couch and read. The orange candle I think is really pretty. It was given to me by a beautiful lady in my Sunday School with an encouraging card that said
"Because you do so much for so many" Oh how sweet!
I hope you have enjoyed seeing a few corners of my home but before I go I have one more photo to share. This is what my house will look like over the next week
Today I am not exactly sure where we will be moving but we are trusting God and praying that he will provide a new home for us. Until then we are packing and getting ready.
Please come and visit tomorrow and meet one of Daisy's Bloggie Doggie friends.
Thanks for visiting. Don't forget to go see Kelli too.
Everything looks very nice in your home. I know you have a big job ahead of you in moving. Take care.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on Baby Zane! I will say a prayer that the Lord will give you peace and encouragement while you wait upon Him to move (and for you to move as well). Sometimes that is the hardest part. We always feel like we should be DOING and sometimes He asks us to just to BE. BE still. BE surrendered to His will. BE patient. BE strong. HE is always faithful.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Connie
Where are you moving? I love the Texas/western collection. But I won't bring my dear hubby in to show it to him, or we'd be here all day as he really is into the 'old west'...especially Texas.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful kitty too.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the grandchild. Good luck with the packing and moving. The Lord will guide you to the right place! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI love your kitty! Purrs..
ReplyDeleteI hope you & your family have a smooth move. Moving is a hard
job, see you soon!
Everything looks wonderful! That chair does look comfy! I hope all goes well with your move.
ReplyDeletehmmm North Richland Hills??? those words are rather familiar to me. heeeheehee
ReplyDeletewe're more or less in the same neck o woods.
thanks for the comment on mu aprons. I did not use a pattern for the patchwork one. I cut 7 1/2 inch squares. 4 made the bib, 12 made the botttom. I backed it so the seam allowances would be secure. I top stitched around the edges using a decorative stitch to give the edges heft and so it wouldn't "roll" when washed. I added lace to the bottom cuz I'm a huge sucker for eyelet lace and I had "just enough" left over from a dress I made years ago.
I haven't done show and tell in awhile as my job has had me busy and unhappy. that's due to change in 2 weeks though :-)
oh, and I love the wrought iron screen.
keep feeding kitty at the same time every night and he'll find his way to the new house just fine. I've moved many cats many times without incident.
Your livingroom is beautiful...I love your fireplace! I hope your move goes smoothly, it's always a big job so hang in there!
