If I Had a Tea Cup . . .

I am posting late today because I am in the crafting room trying to create and organize and redecorate my room.  I moved a few pieces that had migrated to others areas and this post from 2017 came to mind.  I hope you enjoy visiting my Tea Party

If I Had A Tea Cup. . . (A Let's Pretend Tea Party)

. . . I would have a tea party.
I would invite a few friends . . .  One would bring tea
One will dress up really pretty with a hat and wear Pearls and bring cookies of course

I'll ask my friend from the library to bring a few books to enjoy

I'll set the tea cart with grandma's pretty glass dishes and pretty pink napkins . And ask my friends to pick some flowers from the garden Oh no we dropped some flower petals we must sweep before the party! . . .

And then we will be all ready for
The Fairy Princesses (in pink) to come in to our party.
We'll eat cookies and drink tea.  And visit with our friends.
And then we will read one last book.
The very best one!
And as the fairy princess's (in pink) nod off. Because it's been a very busy morning they'll be dreaming about . . .
Many more adventures and their next tea party.
Can you guess who they are inviting?

Thank you for visiting my Let's Pretend Tea Party.  All photo's are taken by me.  All prop's are family heirlooms.  The photo's of the fairy princess are actually only one princess.  Who has grown up way too fast.

Have A Blessed Day

I'll be linking my posts this week at these parties.

Menu Monday-Dinner Plans For The Week-Thoughts On Menu Planning

Good Morning and Welcome
The Journey Back: Menu Monday

I changed things up a bit for this weeks plans.  I normally write my menu and include it in my Happy Homemaker post and then write a post here with more detail and thoughts.
But
As I wrote and thought about making good things to eat I kept writing the same thing down.  It seemed everything I wrote I felt like I had just written it down and served it.
Do you ever feel like that?
Same O Same O
Well this week I was determined to go the extra mile and plan new and different meals.

And so here is what I came up with  . . .

Monday (s) are a good day for me to serve left overs from weekend meals.  I cook more time consuming meals on the weekends. But everything seemed to slow down and I had lots of yard work to do so no leftovers . . .
Well I do have a Roast in the freezer I will be making

Summer Garden Hash

Inspired by a recipe I found in my search for new recipes and new ideas . . .

I found the recipe over here I enjoyed finding a new blog.  Miz Helen has lots of great recipe ideas.  I'll be visiting her regularly for inspiration.

Tuesday
I have been wanting to make a Cajun or Creole What's the difference? Do you know? style Jambalaya.  I looked for recipes and found a few.  Still kind of pondering which one to try.
Do you have a Jambalaya recipe?

The BEST Jambalaya Recipe
Ali at Givemesomeoven shared a recipe (it is here) that looks good and simple.  My goal is to use the Shrimp, Sausage and Chicken that I have in the freezer.  And find a new way to cook all 3.  I do the same recipes over and over.

But
I do really, really love homemade Chicken Tenders and so they are on my menu for Wednesday.  I guess one 'Old Stand By' is o.k.
What do you think?

Wednesday

With my Chicken Tenders I'll make Mashed Potato's with Cream Gravy gotta make Gravy if you fry chicken.  Right?  And I'll cook up some Corn on The Cob if it's ready from the garden if not a Corn Casserole or Mexican Street Corn sounds good.

Thursday
I've been wanting to make White Chicken Chili. There are so many recipes out there.  I am attracted to the photo's.  Some photo's just make you want to try it.

Creamy White Chicken Chili - The Salty Marshmallow

I will admit it is the Avocado that gets me.  But not sure I want a recipe that calls for corn so I am still looking
Do you have a good White Chicken Chili recipe?
When I find the right recipe I'll serve with some yummy Corn Bread and a Mixed Green Salad.

Friday
Pulled Pork over Irish Nacho's and Salad . . . That's a new one!
Sound good?

And for Dessert
Lazy Girl Peach Pie . . . I should call mine Tired Girl Peach Pie
Recipe found in this book
Glitter Bomb (A Scrapbooking Mystery Book 15) by [Laura Childs, Terrie Farley Moran]
I'm a fan of Laura Childs she has several great Cozy Series and they have recipes!

And I have one my idea for dessert.  This one I saw on FaceBook.
I think it just might be the recipe my mother used.  I am itchin'
to try it and see.  I'll leave out the nuts on half cuz I don't do nuts.

Happy Homemaker In Texas

The weather
Looks like a nice week coming up.  Each day starts in mid 70's and then warms to mid 90's.  Summer in Texas can be really hot.
But there's plenty of time for those triple digits we get!

What I'm wearing
My lawn mowing gear.  Long pants and a ragged t-shirt.  I am hoping to put a dent in the yard.  We do have a big yard to mow.
Sometimes I end up taking 1-2 days if I have too many aches and pains.  When I win the lottery . . . I will hire a yard service to mow and trim bushes and do things that are hard for me to do!

On the breakfast plate
On my mind
The unrest in our nation.  The November elections.

On the menu
Monday Pulled Pork on Baked Potato's, A Salad of Mixed Greens
Tuesday Well it must be Taco day.  I haven't made Taco's in weeks!
Wednesday Green Chili Stew from leftover Pulled Pork
Thursday Seafood Boil, French Fries and Onion Rings, Cole Slaw
Friday  Spaghetti, Salad and Crusty Bread
Nope on second thought!
Same O. Same O.  So I think I'll spend the rest of the weekend looking for some new recipes or ideas to cook what I have on hand.  Here's what's in the freezer . . .
Ground Beef,  Ground Bison (the Cowboy doesn't like home made Hamburgers) Shrimp, Pork Cutlets, Pork Tenderloin, Roast, Rib Eyes, A Chicken and a Package of Chicken Breasts.
Also always in the freezer is Tuna and last week we found Imitation Crab on Sale really cheap.
Come by Monday to see what I decided!

Last week's menu
sharing today a few Rustic Dinner plates since I didn't post on Friday  . . .
Dinner Friday night Pot Roast with Potato's and Carrots and Pan Gravy.  I normally use Russets but we got these I think they are Yellow Gold maybe.  They were yummy.  The salad was mixed greens a Tomato from the garden.
Some days it is a struggle and challenge with our meals.  Some days the Cowboy tells me what he wants to eat.  Scallops in a Salad.  Hmm.
For lunch one day it was all I could do to get him to even eat a Chili Dog or two.
This is my plate.  The day after the Chili Dog I tried Tuna Casserole.  He was not enchanted.
Most evenings he has a cold plate before his meals.  Tuna is very good for his diet and we buy it for a good price at Aldi.
Ribs from the freezer and Fried Rice and Spinach Salad.  This one was a yummy meal.  I put Asparagus in the rice with the Carrots and Mushrooms it was really good!
A better pic of the Salad from Friday night.  I sliced some Sweet Peppers and added them on top.  This is a mix of Romaine and Green Leaf Lettuce.

In the craft space
A new project I am making prayer pockets to send to a FB friend that sends them to nursing homes.  A prayer pocket is just a
tiny little pocket made from paper and filled with Scripture.  Made to just warm someone's heart.

In the garden
Tomato's are showing off now

Cucumbers are producing one or two a day.
That is good because it is really all I/we need
First planting of Corn is growing tall and there is silk  we should have a few ears in a few days
I have 3 Sunflowers.  Yes 3.  It was a bad year.  I'll be looking for a much better source for seeds.

Garden plans/tasks
Find some annuals to fill in.  The Bee Balm is looking ragged.
Plant potato's
Weed
Clean up
Enjoy the blooming Zinnia's

My To Do List
I've been working on my books and cookbook display in the living room.  Still more to do but it is coming together.
Changing some things and making space for the Cowboy's fruit, chips and snacks to be easy to get to for him.
I am prepping a garden bed for potato's
Prepping my compost area
Planning for Fall planting
Get into my craft room this week

My Ta Da moment
I made Pickles from Cucumbers from my garden!
It was only 2 jars . . . one long spears and the other cut pieces.  But I have never made/canned before!  Ta Da!

On the reading pile
Larceny at the Library (A Washington Whodunit) by Colleen Shogan ...

This one has been on the pile for awhile.  I really need to get on it! I have loved each book in this series.  I just keep finding 'freebies' and ARC offers that get my attention!
This one looks so good.  I can't wait to start reading.

I am reading now

Carter's Cowgirl (Quinn Valley Ranch, #8)

Something fun to share
